Chapter 6 : The Meeting

If I had a flower for everytime I've thought of you,

I'd have a garden full of them.

The sound of beeping woke me up from my sleep. I looked over at the clock and pushed the button to stop the annoying sound.

7.15 AM

I got out of bed and quickly began my morning routine. If any of you are wondering, what about school? Well my friends, let me tell you something, school is only a luxury that only the Were species could afford. Us Underdwellers? We just can't have that kind of thing.

I looked at my reflection in the mirror and my heart skipped a beat, remembering the promise I've made for today. It's been 2 days since the incident at the Palace, it's been 2 days since I've found my mate, and it's been 2 days since Beta Sade gave me the King's letter.

I could feel my wolf start to pace around in my head, anxious with the thought of seeing her mate.

"Relax Skylar. We're gonna meet him soon." I said, trying to reassure my wolf and get her to relax.

"I know, but I just can't help but feel excited. Goddess, it's been too long since I've last seen him."

I chuckled at her words and replied, "Seen him? Yeah, more like glanced at him. Remember, we took off before anything could happen?"

"You mean before YOU took off. I wanted to stay." She said, sarcasm dripping from her tone.

I laughed and cut off our connection before making my way back to my room.

After making my bed and cleaning my room enough so that it looks decent, I went to the kitchen and saw my mom and dad there. My mom was making toast and whatever little bit of egg we got.

"Morning Mom, Dad." I went over and kissed both of their cheeks.

"Morning honey. So how you feeling?" My dad asked, leaning back into the chair and crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Well, you know. Normal. Nervous but ok, I guess." I said while taking a sip of my milk.

"Don't be nervous honey. Everything's gonna be great, trust me. He's gonna love you, you're smart, strong, beautiful and lastly, you're my daughter. Nobody can resist our charms." My mom winked at me while putting my breakfast in front of me.

I laughed at her words because it was true. Well, for her part. My mom wasn't drop dead gorgeous but she was charming in her own way and everyone saw that.

After finishing breakfast, I made small talk with my parents before washing the dishes. And when I was done I looked over the clock and saw that it was only 9.07 AM.

"I still have time." I reminded myself

"Hey mom, dad, I'm gonna go back to my room now, you know to get ready and stuff." I walked over and kissed their cheeks before retiring to my bedroom.

After closing the door behind me, I flopped on the bed and stared at the ceiling. I started to wonder about him. His eyes, his lips, his jaw, his...everything. A shiver ran throughout my body at the thought of his eyes. I have never seen anything so intense in my entire life.

It was crazy how the mate bond can affect you. Just the thought of your mate can make your body feel like it's on fire. That's how strong the bond is.

I took my phone and texted my dear friend, Luca. Wonder what he's been up to lately.

From : Milea's Away

Hey bitch, whatcha been up to?

From: LuLuca

To: Milea's Away

You know the regular shit. Working, trying to get laid and failing. Same old same old. What about you mofo?

To: LuLuca

From: Milea's Away

Call me and you'll find out ;)

And instantly my phone blared out. I knew that bitch was thirsty for some tea.

"Shit better be good baby girl. So what is it? Spill." He said in a serious tone.

I scoffed at his words, "Oh babe trust me this is like the tea of the century BUT.."

"What buts? I hate buts, well unless their ones with the cheeks."

I laughed at his words and said "What the fuck Luca? You're so fucked up and yet I still love you."

"I know honey, bless your soul, now SPILL!"

"Well...how do I say this without making you freak out on me? Well...I found my mate." I said to him, chewing on my bottom lip.

"What? Bitch when? Where? How? Who?" He shouted down the line.

"Shh!!! Don't be so loud or I can't tell you anything."

"Luca, this is top secret okay? You cannot, and I mean CANNOT tell anyone about this."

"Wha-Why? What do you mean I can't tell anyone? Why?" He asked, sounding so confused.

"Well, a couple of days ago, me and some of my friends that worked in the Palace for the ball decided we would sneak inside the Palace so that we could see the king..."

"YOU WHA-" "SHH!!!" I cut him off, "You can't tell this to anyone Luca, please. Just listen."

I heard him took a deep breath in before saying that I could continue my story.

"I met him...in the Palace. Luca, he's no Underdweller, he's a Were and he - he's the king." I whispered the last part out.

I was greeted by silence and I grew nervous by the second, because Luca was never silent. He'd always had something to say.

"Babygirl...what can I say? Are you sure? I mean, I'm happy if you're happy and stuff but I'm in so much shock right now with the fact that - that you didn't TELL ME THIS SOONER. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK MILEA?!" He suddenly shouted down the phone.

Wait, what? I sat there and pulled my phone away from my ear, looking at it like it grew a head.

"Are you seriously upset that I didn't tell you sooner? You're not upset with the fact that I'm mated to the King?"

"Yes I'm upset that you didn't tell me sooner, I mean how many people have known before me? And bitch no, of coarse I'm not upset cause you're mated to the King, I'm thrilled for you baby girl."

"Well, 4 people maybe, have know? I don't know. And Luca, you should know how unprepared I am to find my mate, let alone to be mated to the King. I'd have to be his Luna and the Were Kingdom's Queen, I just - I don't know if I'll be able to do it..." I mumbled out.

"Aww, honey, you should know by now how perfect you are for that role. You're kind, hardworking, and strong. You might be an Underdweller but you have a heart bigger and stronger then a Were. Believe in yourself more babe, don't put yourself down like that." He said comfortingly.

"You think so Luca?"

"I think so? Bitch I KNOW so. And you know that I'm never wrong." He scoffed. There he goes again with the sass. I thought we were having a moment there for a minute, guess we weren't.

I glanced at my clock and leaped up from my sleeping position. The Palace. I had to go to the Palace, I almost forgot about that.

"Luca, I have to go now, call you later bitch?"

"Sure, talk to you later boo." He said hanging up.

I got off my bed and started to get ready.

Opening my closet I was surprised at how I have nothing to wear. What the hell? Where did all my clothes go. Should I go with casual? Sexy? Cute? What should I wear?

After destroying my closet entirely, I finally found the perfect outfit and quickly changed into them. I decided to get into a white off the shoulder top with long sleeves and skinny jeans. That should do it. I don't wanna look like I tried too hard.

"Yeah, you didn't try hear alright. Look at your room, it's so clean." Skylar said with a snort.

I turned around and grimaced at the sight of my room. Yeah...I'll clean that up when I come back.

I went out of my room, said goodbye to my parents and took off towards the Palace.

On my way there I kept on thinking ways to greet him. Goddess, I'm so nervous I'm bouncing my feet while walking. I don't even understand the biology of how that's possible. But Ok.

When I arrived at the Palace, I went towards one of the guards who was on duty. When I got near him he suddenly turned my way and crouched down a bit, going into defensive mode.

"What are you doing here Underdweller? You should know that this is not your place." He growled out.

"Please, I know that but - but I'm here for Beta Sade. If you could please tell him that Milea is here, that would be such a great help." I said, hugging myself. I was scared to be here, one wrong move and it'll be it for me.

"And why should I do that for you? What business do you have with my beta?" He growled out.

"It-It's private. Please, if - if he says that he doesn't know who Milea is you can take me away." I said desperately.

He looked at me once more time before growling and leaving his post. His fellow guard walking towards me, as if making sure that I wouldn't do anything stupid.

After a few moments waiting, Jeremy finally came with the guard behind him.

"Milea, good to see you again. Please, this way." He said and gestured behind him.

I nodded and thanked the guard before following Jeremy towards the Palace's grounds.

"He's been waiting for you, you know. Took a lot of restraining to stop him from chasing after you and claiming you." He said glancing my way.

"It did?" I asked quietly, looking at his gaze.

"You have no idea." He gave a chuckle.

I walked inside the Palace and I smiled thinking of the first time I came here. everything still looked beautiful and I was still amazed at the interior design.

"He's in his office, however, since you are an Underdweller and the King doesn't want anyone to know about you yet. So, I'm so sorry Luna but can you please walk behind me. Just like 2 steps behind me."

"Yes, sure, that won't be a problem."

He smiled gratefully before taking me upstairs. It's a good thing this thing has an elevator or he'd have to carry my unfit ass up there.

When we arrived at the 4th floor he took a right and walked down a hall and took the second left and in front of us was probably the largest door I have ever seen in my entire life. Who the hell walks through that thing? A giant?

Beta Sade knocked on the door twice before proceeding to open it.

This was it. I was finally meeting my mate. My King.

When he opened the door, I saw a man with a broad shoulder that looked so comfortable to lean against with his hand behind him.

Suddenly his head lifted up and I could see him taking in a deep breath. He was taking in my scent. My wolf instantly went crazy at his scent too. I took a deep breath and it smelled like lemons and the woods. I loved it.

Suddenly my mate turned and looked at me and he growled out the word that sent shivers down my spine.

"MATE."
