Chapter 3 Part II | Chapter 3

It's been exactly one week since I left the hotel and came back to my condo. Of course Izaiah has been blowing up my phone. The only time I answered was when I was letting him know the baby and I were fine. I've been able to stop by my shop and see to things, everything was in order. Just as I left it. I did some last minute shopping for baby girl, picking her up a few last things.

I had a couple of movers and builders set up the crib, so the nursery was just about done. I stood in the door way admiring the beautiful room. It was plain but I liked it. I also didn't want to do too much, since I still wanted to include Izaiah in witnessing moments like this—whenever he’s able to find even us a new home. The nursery had a nice purple, white and silver flower decoy that hung above the nice white classical crib. A diaper table stood to the right of the crib, and a blue velvet rocking-recliner chair sat to the left.

I continued to look at the room a bit while longer, before walking across the hall to my bedroom. This room also wasn't much. I had a bed of course and a huge closet space. I sat on the edge of the bed taking deep breaths, I been having Braxton Hicks for almost 3 days now. Dr Myers said not to worry unless they become unbearable. I laid back into the bed, pulling my pregnancy pillow closer to my body. It's been a great comfort for me since I've purchased it. Shortly after sleep took over my body.

(Izaiah’s POV)

I pulled up to a nice secluded home. The house is big and gated off. The guard at the front let me through after checking my ID. Today I'm looking at a single family home. It's all the way out in Norfolk, but Cindy, my real estate agent assured me that the home met all the requirements. I trust her a lot since she's been my agent for about 4 years now.

She told me she would set up a walk through meeting with her second hand because has a house to sign off on today. I agreed. Now I'm pulling into the huge driveway. I can probably fit all my cars and more in this bitch. I put my Lamborghini truck in park, getting out, locking the doors. I walked towards the front door pressing on the doorbell, waiting for an answer.

The door swung open and a familiar face greeted me. "Hey you!" She said in a high pitched voice. It was Bianca, the girl from the club that night. She put her number in my phone, but I wasn't interested in calling the broad. "Sup." I said walking in as she shut the door behind me. "I didn't know you were Izaiah Velez." She said looking at the documents in her hand.

"In the flesh." I told her sticking my hands into my pockets, a habit I have of doing. “I can see that. I also see you never used my number." She said leading me into the living room space. “I be busy." I shrugged. "Hm. Well here we have a nice spacious living room. Not only does it have open walls, the high ceilings make it make this room specifically stand out. It's perfect for get togethers, family gathering or even your kids sleepover." She said showing me around the room.

It is indeed nice as hell. I know London will fuck with this, I thought. "That's cool." I said looking up at her face. Her long silky hair is straighten, tucked behind her ears. She wore this long tight skirt that hugged her curves. She had me fooled that night at the club. “Shall we move on?" She questioned typing on the tablet she pulled out from a bag. "Yeah." I said moving to the side.

"Alright. Next, we have the kitchen. Over here is a Samsung 27.7 cubic feet family hub 4-door smart refrigerator. And the best part, it's fingerprint resistant." She stated, touching the fridge to demonstrate. “That's fye." I responded opening up the doors to see inside. It’s definitely huge.

“Now over here you have a black stainless, slide-in electric range with pro bake convection oven. It's easy clean, but also self clean. This griddle is also a plus, no extra pots or pans. You can make your bacon, grits, whatever on this thing." She said touching the stove top. So far everything was looking pretty good.

"Aye, all this baby proof?" I asked randomly. "Yes. Everything in this house is very-much so baby proof." She said with a smile. "Bet." I nodded. She continued showing me around the house. There’s a unfurnished basement down stairs. She showed me the walk-in pantry along with the flex-wash washer and dryer. I'm just about sold on this crib. Only thing left is to check out upstairs and ask about the security.

We headed up stairs which has 7 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. She took me through the rooms, room-by-room. "And I saved the best for last." She said sliding the fancy door open. “This is your master bedroom. It has two walk-in closets, with a connecting bathroom. There's two sinks. His and hers tiled marble. There's also a hot tub, and you have a glass door shower with three different shower heads." She informed, opening the shower door.

"Fancy." I said taking a peak in the shower. "So, you gonna tell me why you didn't call?" She questioned sticking her index finger into my chest. "I told you I been busy." I said moving back. “Uh uhhh. That's not good enough." She said stepping closer. She’s tempting. "Cause I got a girl—and a baby." I spoke honestly. "Ooh. You a baby daddy." She chuckled.

"Nah. I'm a boyfriend and soon-to be father. And you seem thirsty." I told her, walking out of the bathroom. She shrugged following behind me. “I guess I'll take you outside now, to check out the backyard space." She said with a slight attitude. Home girl don't even know a nigga and she trippin. Go find you some dick else where hoe. We walked through the back sliding door. We now stood out in the backyard.

"This backyard is perfect for hosting any events. It goes way back. About 25000 feet, and no one is allowed to come onto your property without proper permission." She informed me. “What about the security?" I questioned, wanting to know the safety. I have a lot of concerns. "We have private guards that are on watch 24/7. There's two shift changes everyday. I'll introduce you to the guards afterwards." She spoke heading back into the house.

"This house also is entitled to a security update every three months. Follow me." She instructed, walking through the kitchen, back into the living-room area.

“This little thing over here is the Brinks Home Security system." She pointed to the small monitor on the wall. “Once on, anyone who try's to get into the house will be face scanned, then ran through the police system altering the cops of a break in. You can always keep track of what's going on in, and outside of your home. There's camera's literally all around the place." She said.

"Just what I wanted to hear." I told her, relieved. The house seemed to meet all my requirements, just as Cindy ensured. "Good. I can take you out front to meet one of the guards? Neal, the second shift guard, doesn't start until five this afternoon. The shift changes are five pm and then again at ten pm." She shared. I nodded. We walked out the front door, down the driveway. "Hey Surge?" Bianca called out, getting closer to the guard booth.

The dude who let me through stuck his head out the window. "What's up?" He asked. He’s about 6 foot 7. Heavy-set and darkskin. “This could potentially be the new resident. I wanted to introduce you two." Bianca said out loud. "Surge, Izaiah. Izaiah, this is Surge, the first shift guard." She introduced us.

"What up man." He spoke, shaking my hand. "Sup." I returned the hand shake with a head nod. He seems pretty cool, but of course I would have my people check these mother fuckers out. I'm really not taking no chances. After taking everything into consideration I told shorty I will put the payment down for the house. We went inside, starting the paper work process.

"Can I wait to sign?" I asked, looking at her staple some papers together. "U-Uh. Yes. I guess you can." She said. "Cool." I told her pulling out my checkbook. I wrote the check for $725,000 dollars, then signed it with my signature. "Here." I slid the check in front of her. “May I ask why your waiting to sign? People usually pay and sign same day." She said. "I ain't people." I stated getting up from the table.

It’s clear she wanted something else, and I wasn't here for it. "Alrighty then. I'm sure Cindy will give you a call to setup another meeting, so you can sign off and get the keys." She told me. I headed for the door. “Cool." I said once again, leaving. I jumped in my truck, starting it up. I made my way back into town. I’m meeting up with London. I texted her asking if she would be down, surprisingly, she was.

I wanted to tell her that I found us the perfect home and more importantly, tell her that I want her to sign-off on this new lease with me. This is her home, just as much as it is mine. It's ours and I want her to understand that I would do anything for her and our daughter. Even if it meant putting my hunt for these fools on hold. Family is more important.
