Steve Rogers
He should have been there, he should have but he wasn't assigned to the same mission. He held your hand, ashamed and frustrated as you lay unconscious in a hospital bed. You were fine other than the various cuts and the one gunshot wound to your arm, before meeting Steve you had sustained much worse injuries but looking at his worried face as you woke from the sedation made your heart hurt. He always beat himself up over these sorts of things, you took this job knowing full well what it would include but it still stung to see his face so full of worry. Whispering his name in hopes of returning him from his beating he gave himself mentally "Steve...Steven" you whispered louder and his eyes snapped towards your face. You smiled, greeting his eyes with groggy ones "I told you, I'd been fine" he chuckled rubbing your head with his hand "you scared the daylights outta me, Princess." You rolled your eyes and winced when you moved your arm, "stay still, don't strain that arm" he'd preached it a million times before you got better "then lean down here" he did as you told him and you kissed him quickly "don't worry so much cap." He smiled, "when you're involved I can't help but worry."
Tony Stark
You rolled your eyes at the man strutting around in his newly designed suit. It was supposed to be the newest and best model but it was just a prototype at the moment so it still had a few bugs. You laughed watching him dancing around in it, he said it made it more comfortable but you said it made him look ridiculous. There was no warning though when the suit let out a large belch of smoke and stopped with Tony in it, you stopped laughing "you okay, Tony?" whispering it as you walked towards him "back up" he demanded and you did as told. You never questioned him when his tone was that serious, you watched from where you had been sitting at the bar. A few tense moments later he turned to you, in the suit but his eyes widened and you knew, just knew this was not a good thing. Without a second thought, you dove behind the counter and it was a good thing too because the fault suit fired at the chair you had been sitting in blowing it to dust. Tony messed with functions while you ran around his tower being chased by the suit with him in it "DO SOMETHING!" you shouted over a blast that ripped past your head. He was frustrated as he yelled "I'M TRYING!" you sighed, rolling your eyes but in that second failed to notice the proximity you were to Tony you rushed forwards behind more furniture about the same time the suit fired again this time grazing your calf but the panic made the pain less severe. Calling out to you he screamed "GOT IT" you stopped moving but Jarvis called out about that time "the suit has stuck the lady" you looked at your now bloody calf, it was on fire. You had never felt such a painful burning sensation in your life and so it took all of your strength not to cry "T-Tony, I'm bleeding badly" you said through gritted teeth. After nearly killing himself while getting out of the faulty suit he rushed over to you, "oh my" his eyes widened and he called for his properly working suit now. He rushed you to the hospital where you were treated for third-degree burns and a serious gash through your muscle. He spent weeks beating himself up over it and it took you a while to make him feel better but the reminder of this day will always be with you.
Bruce Banner
You knew it was bound to happen and you knew that you would be there when it did but you knew you would never leave his side because of it. It wasn't his fault, it was never his fault because he never did want it to happen especially with the whole Harlem incident still a fresh wound in his mind. You were working next door to the lab in a special room for some highly volatile chemicals but you heard him. You heard all the words Tony used to get Bruce angry, hell you'd be angry too if someone threatened the one you loved... .oh wait they were and you were pretty pissed but you just knew where this was headed. Placing the chemicals away as safely but as quickly as you could manage you rushed into the room, Bruce had his fist clenched and eyes squeezed shut in frustration. He was trying to fight it and he was failing to do so, you turned to Tony who watched in amazement until you punched him in the jaw "you arrogant bastard!-" you couldn't finish your statement because a roar erupted from next to you. You stood up to the green beast, you were not afraid of the Hulk no matter what happened to you. He grabbed you up, studying your face before tossing you lazily into the wall before crashing through the door frame and destroying the corridor along the way. Where he was going was not clear but despite the intense pain in your head and back, you scrambled to your feet pulling Tony to his "come on! you started this you are going to help me fix it." With a red mark turning into a bruise on his face he nodded without a word, he wanted this but he acted so childishly now that it happened. It didn't take long to find Bruce or talk him back, you smiled after he redressed before collapsing into his arms. Tony explained what had happened and to say he was ashamed was an understatement, he was so disappointed in himself. You had a fractured rib, severe concussion, and a few bruised vertebrae but you smiled despite the pain when you saw him walk in. The smile turned to a frown when he refused to come any closer than the door, "come here" you demanded but he stayed put. Your eyes saddened and he noticed, you looked into his eyes, "please, you didn't mean to hurt me I know you didn't and I would not go back on what I did for you and I will love you just the same." A few stray tears rolled down your cheek and despite not wanting to hurt you again he came over to your bedside. It took a mighty long time for him to forgive himself for what happened that day.
Thor Odinson
You were not a fighter, you were a healer and Loki knew that so when he wanted to hurt his brother after what he felt like was a betrayal he went after you. You were healing a few people that Loki had gotten his hands on after breaking out and going crazy but a rough hand grabbed your hair. You heard the snickering and closed your eyes briefly relaxing into the grip, "Loki, your quarrel is not with me and you know this" his grip did not loosen. "No, but you are the best way to get back at my idiot brother" you didn't want to make any sudden movements to make him do anything rash so you listened to him and even tried to reason with him. There was no getting through to this man, he was more stubborn than Thor, who thought you'd see the day that would happen. You recognized the voice that boomed into the room and felt the staff poke into your back "Thor, brother, you are just in time for the show!" Loki grinned and faced his brother, your eyes pleaded with Thor to help you. There was nothing he could do as long as Loki had the staff placed into your back, there were moments when he loosened his grip on you and you wanted to rush away into Thor's arms but there were others where his grip was so tight that you thought he was going to rip out your hair. There was a brief moment where Loki had let you go and you took it, running over towards Thor and that is when you felt the pain in your legs. Loki had frozen them on the spot but having Thor there he was too focused on his brother to bother with you any longer. You closed your eyes trying desperately to calm yourself down so you could reverse the spell and heal yourself but with everything going on you just could not clear your mind. You watched cringing each time Thor was hit or when parts of the building crumbled above you sending down debris. It was not long before Loki disappeared but when Thor went to go after him you called out to him, "Thor!" he stopped mid-step before turning and rushing back to your side "maiden, what do you need me to do?" you panted "please, help me calm my nerves so I can move once more" his eyes met yours and he took your hands. You focused on him and nothing else and slowly you began to feel the ice inch lower and lower until your legs were free and you threw yourself into Thor's arms. He held you close and you clung to him like he was going to disappear, "maiden I-" you leaned in a kissed his lips softly "go, bring him back so he can face his punishment."
Loki Laufeyson
He was emotional, to say the least, so when he was mad, he was mad. You always felt safe around him and knew he would never hurt you purposely. You were a fighter and took Loki's side generally, But not always but never would you imagine he would physically hurt you. He didn't technically touch you but he might as well have with the look he was giving you, you were now just as angry as he was. You stomped up to him, "there was no reason to treat the man with such disgrace!" you knew what you were getting in when you challenged his choices "do not tell me what is right and what is not, I know what I have done and I do not think it as a disgrace to a traitor" your anger boiled over and you punch him. Now you were generally very level-headed and never over thought many things but when you got angry a switch would flip and rationale was no longer in your dictionary. When you punched him his face did not move but your hand did and it broke your wrist, you winced stepping back from him. He did not look in the least bit sorry as you stomped off to have your wrist fixed up. That was a good six hours ago and you were now much calmer, in pain, but calmer. You rested on your bed, in a chamber far from Loki's, right now he was the last face you wanted to see. You sighed rubbing your swollen wrist, wincing as you did "ice should help with the swelling" you turned your eyes to him "just leave me be" he stepped up and sat on your bed next to you. "Didn't I-" his hands grabbed your broken wrist, your face recoiled in pain but soon relaxed into the coolness of his hands "relax" he said simply still holding your wrist between his hands. They felt nice and the longer his hands were on you the less you were angry with him. "I apologize" there was nothing else said after you whispered that but he was no longer angry with you.
Clint Barton
It was a mistake, he never meant to hurt you but it all happened so fast. You were partnered on this mission, it was fairly easy, steal some documents, and get out. That was simple, but the number of enemies you two had to face, that was far from simple. It had all been going according to the plan and there were just a few stragglers now, you and Clint were about 300 feet apart and you were in front slightly to his right. You both fought as you always did and very rarely did things not goes as planned but these happened to be one of those rare times. He had an explosive arrow readied, aiming for the enemy, and as he released the grip on the string sending the arrow flying the enemy ripped you upwards and into the arrow's path. Time slowed but everything stopped at that moment for Clint, he watched as the arrow hit you and the few seconds it took for you to rip the arrow out of your shoulder and stick it into the man holding you. It had all happened so fast that when you were thrown from the explosion, you didn't stay down with shock-absorbing most of the pain you felt right now. Clint was working as quickly as his shaking hands could manage so when he heard you call out to him his shaking stopped and he managed to kill the last few. Rushing over to him, bleeding badly but unaware of it you ducked behind the scaffolding "the choppers here, come on" he noticed the gaping wound in your shoulder and he knew then that there was only one place you needed to get to. Only after getting onto the chopper and sitting next to Clint did you start to feel the pain and get dizzy, Clint had already given the pilot demands to get to the nearest ER "Clint. . ." you whispered "I'm dizzy" he was panicking as you collapsed against him, he held you tight "you're going to be okay, I know you're dizzy but can you look at me" you looked up, with things getting blurry it was hard to do but you managed. He held you "HURRY UP!" he snapped to the pilot "talk to me, sweetie" he stroked your cheek "come on, talk to me and keep your eyes open" you tried, you did but the pain was unbearable and you passed out. You woke up three weeks later, in an incredible amount of pain but you were alive. You looked around but there was no one here but a nurse "where is he?" you managed to say it after she removed the breathing tube. She smiled "he'll be here in a few minutes, he had to grab something. Said it was important" she was right, he walked in a little while later holding a single red rose. It was something he didn't do, but he felt responsible for what happened to you. You forgave him though, there was no way you couldn't, it took a long while before he felt better about the incident.
James "Bucky" Barnes
You were trying to keep low but you had a feeling that your days being free were numbered and it made you nervous which made you look suspicious. You were trying to stock up on supplies and it was proving to be a difficult task with the people following you and no matter what turns you took there always seemed to be more around the next corner. Your feet were going and you were pushing yourself just as hard as you could go hearing the shots pop off of the concrete corners and pavement you ran on. You felt the sting in your calf but the pain never hit you because of the adrenaline coursing through your veins. You noticed you were in the clear, you had outrun them for now but you didn't have long "Finally!" you panted looking around for anything or anyone that might be watching where you were going; seeing nothing you proceeded into the house. You felt the pain about the same time as you noticed the blood oozing from the wound, you were coming off of the adrenaline and going into shock and needed to get to a hospital. Your eyes were glued shut but when you felt a hand putting pressure on the wound they snapped open "what are you... .never mind that's a dumb question" you muttered seeing him grin ever so slightly. You tried to get up but Bucky refused to let you and offered to carry you to a special hospital outside of town and away from the people after you, you nodded leaning into his chest. You were feeling dizzy and lightheaded when you heard him speak "keep your eyes open and talk to me, please? I need to hear your voice" you weren't sure where this newfound strength came from but you did as instructed, telling him stories or just making corny jokes until you were at the hospital. You were patched up and given the okay to leave but again he would not let you walk; so you both did the same thing on the way back home but this time, this time you fell asleep but he was alright with that knowing you were going to be alright.
