chapter 2

Selene's POV

In the 18th century, vampires, witches, and werewolves appeared out of nowhere.

Actually, they became rivals in just a short time.

But..

Many years passed, and the elders in each group decided to make rules that must be followed to maintain peace between them.

and that is to keep a secret about them.

Vampires, witches, and werewolves can't move people either.

because they find out that their neighbors touched people or hurt them. They can kill that.

I don't know what kind of killing they will do to them because Niko didn't tell me that.

I also know very little about elders.

The only ones who know about them are the firstborns of each family clan in the group.

That meansNiko is already there.

But to think that there are still vampires who want to disobey the laws I think the elders are not really strict.

"What are you thinking, Selene?"

I turned to the person who called my name.

My two eyebrows immediately rose and my smile widened.

Finally!

"Brother Felix!"  I called him excitedly.

I really want to go home.

"You're so happy all of a sudden, ah. Is that how you miss me?" It still pisses me off.

I frowned at him and said, "Ew, gross."

Felix just laughed at me before speaking again. He told me that we could leave the hospital since we had paid the bills.

"Would you like to eat at the restaurant?" Felix asked me.

"Don't. Let's just take it out and then bring it home. Let's not give it to Sister Vera either." I suggested Felix with a smile.

"Alright!"  This is according to me.

I smiled at what she said. That's why I prefer to be with Felix rather than the two of them.

"By the way, Vera told me that it was a man who brought you here to the hospital." There was more anger in his tone. "Wow, first day of school. then you also have a first day of boyfriend—"

"What the f*ck, brother? What kind of brain do you have now?" I sneered at him.

I was surprised when he suddenly hit me, causing my mouth to fall open.

"That's why Vera kept complaining to me earlier, because you're always cheap," he scolds me.

Ha. What can I do? Well, my mouth is used to this.

I just didn't say a word and just continued walking.

When we got to the car, Felix immediately started the engine. We even stopped by our favorite restaurant just to take out an order.

And when we got home, I first caughtVera eating popcorn while reading the book she borrowed from me.

"We're here." Felix said the reason for Vera to turn to us

"Yes, we're finally here."

Vera andFelix continued talking while I was looking for Niko.

"Where is Niko?" I feel like a child looking for her mother.

"I'm here." I heardNiko's voice from the side, causing me to turn there.

"Ow, I thought you went to your office again." I said to him who quickly shook his head.

I was 7 years old when my mom and dad died in a car accident. I don't know if that's true, because they are vampires.

But I just pretended that I believed them since I knew that they had a good reason for hiding the real reason for their deaths.

And because of their deaths, Niko took care of us and continued the company that our parents built.

"Since you're here, we can talk about what happened to you." Niko said to me

I nodded.  Niko ordered Felix and I to sit on the sofa, which we immediately followed.

"Vera, I already know what happened to you. Except for you and Felix." Continuation of Niko

"Okay...?"  I said

"My friend told me the reason for your unconsciousness." He said this before sitting on a single sofa. "You're at the right age, Selene. Where your body is really looking for blood."

Wait.  I seem to know where I'm going.

"You mean, that's why I passed out because I didn't drink blood?" I seriously ask:

Since our parents died, I stopped drinking blood; that's why my body is so weak.

"Yes. And if you continue that, you can die." Vera spoke directly to me.

"But... I don't want to drink blood."

It's not that I don't like blood; I just don't want to drink it.

Also, their blood tastes different. Nothing hits my taste buds.

"Selene, you can no longer refuse people's blood. What if you suddenly pass out?" Sister Vera asked me.

I shook my head and said, "You know that I have forced myself to drink blood several times, but my body doesn't want to accept it."

Every time I try to drink, I just throw up immediately. Sometimes, when I try not to vomit, I get sick.

"Just try drinking blood," Niko said.

They were all quiet for a while as they waited for my answer.

I sighed, "Fine." Just for now. I really won't drink anymore if my body still doesn't accept it." There was a threat in my tone of voice.

Niko smiled at me before nodding, while Vera seemed to breathe a sigh of relief.

Niko ordered Felix to get a bag of blood and put it in a glass.

As I watched the blood being put into the glass, I wasn't even attracted to it.

"Thank you."  I thanked Felix when he finished putting blood on the glass.

Felix just patted my shoulder while waiting for me to drink the blood.

I'm nervous.

I bit my lip before taking the glass and drinking the blood with my eyes closed.

I've only had three drinks of blood when suddenly I feel something in my stomach that makes me stop.

"What?"  Niko is waiting for what I have to say.

My mouth trembled as I looked at them. "S-shit, I'm going to vomit." I said this before putting the glass down and running to the sink.

I vomited all the blood I drank.

As soon as I saw the blood earlier, I knew it wouldn't last long in my stomach.

it tastes bitter.
