Chapter 6: Let Loose

Ellie's POV

"Oh my god, I'm so proud!" Lizzie cried out as she eyed me in astonishment. I smiled and turned towards my mirror. Staring at my reflection, I didn't see a 17-year-old girl who was sick, I saw a 17-year-old girl who decided to live the last days of her life and look hot whilst doing it.

"Thanks, Liz," I mumbled as I turned towards her. "Now let's go Alec is waiting for us." She grabbed my hand and tugged me out of the room excitedly. I rolled my eyes and fell in step beside her as we descended the stairs.

But what I didn't expect to see was Xavier standing in the foyer. Dressed in a pair of black jeans, a maroon t-shirt and a black leather jacket thrown over it.

Even if a guy dresses this mediocre I still find it extremely enticing.

At the sound of us walking into the foyer, he snapped his head upwards and flashed me a heartwarming smile. With a smile, I stumbled into the kitchen and he fell in step behind me, "you look lovely." He said and I blushed deeply as I tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear.

"You look handsome," I replied back before wincing.

Oh the cringe Ellie, the cringe.

"I get that a lot." He winked and I fought the urge to roll my eyes as I poured myself a glass of water. He leaned against the counter beside me and retrieved something from his pocket, "you forgot this in class." He said as he outstretched his hand towards me.

I peered down at the silver necklace with the word Angel encrypted into it in confusion before flickering my eyes towards him. "That's not mine." I chuckled nervously and he shrugged as a smile crept onto his lips, "it's yours now." He suddenly said.

"Y-y ou got this for me?" I stammered and he shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

"Oh my gosh, I knew it I ship it, Llavier all the way!" Liz squealed and I scrunched up my face in disgust before turning towards her, "what?" I laughed nervously and she motioned towards Xavier and me.

"Your ship name Llavier, I mean I'm still working on it but it's whatever for now." I ignored Lizzie and turned my attention back towards Xavier who still had the necklace in his hand.

"Xavier you didn't have to– I mean why did you? You hardly know me." I babbled nervously and he motioned for me to turn around. I pivoted on my heels and shivered as his fingers brushed against my neck as he pushed my hair to the front.

He draped the cold necklace around my neck and clasped it behind before grabbing my hair gently and pulling it over my back.

"I mean I was at the jewelry store getting something for someone and I saw it and thought of you because you kept accidentally calling me angel. It's supposed to be funny." He chuckled as I pivoted on my heels to face him.

"Thank you, it's beautiful, funny and kind of embarrassing." I giggled as I peered down at the necklace and then back at him. He parted his lips to reply but before he could Alec came barrelling into the kitchen.

"Time to go bitches!" He exclaimed loudly and I frowned deeply as he approached Xavier and I, "what did mom say about me going?" I asked and he gave me a deadpan look before shaking his head slowly, "when has mom ever said no to me?"

"True. . ." I trailed off and he winked before flickering his eyes to Lizzie as a mischievous smirk crept onto his lips, "got some girls to smash and some girls to dash."

"You're so disgusting." Lizzie groaned in disgust as we all tumbled out of the kitchen and out the house. We all climbed into the car and I turned towards Alec as he started up the car and pulled out of the driveway.

"When are we getting back home Alec?" I asked.

"Babe, I don't know what time your party pooper ass wants to leave but you're not dragging me out there too early so I don't know." He replied and I rolled my eyes before falling back against the seat.

"He calls you babe?" Lizzie whispered and I flickered my eyes towards her before smiling, "it's an inside joke." She nodded her head in understanding and soon enough we all fell into conversation as we drove to Taylor's house.

I was truly dreading this party.

I just hope I have fun.

Eventually, we got to our destination and I was in nervousness as Alec pulled the car up beside the curb. We all tumbled out of the car and I turned towards Xavier who flashed me a smile. He began to approach me but Alec grabbed him by the arm and dragged him up the driveway leading towards Taylor's house.

I sighed deeply and turned towards Lizzie who squealed in excitement, "come on, let's go!"

We followed in suit behind Alec and Xavier and I gripped onto Lizzie's arm tightly as we entered the house.

The music was loud I could feel the vibration of the beat beneath my feet. I frowned in disgust at the people grinning upon one another in the living room and found myself tumbling over the sweaty bodies pushing up against me as we tried to maneuver ourselves around them.

"Let's get drinks!" Lizzie shouted over the loud music as she dragged me towards the kitchen.

I hate drinking.

The last time I ever went to a party, Lizzie had me play beer pong and it was horrible.

That night I literally confessed to having a crush on Dave Walters; the hottest guy in school and what did they do.

Laugh in my freaking face.

It was pretty embarrassing but I've gotten over it.

"What would you like?" Lizzie asked as we tumbled into the kitchen. "Nothing!" I cried out and she pouted before retrieving two red plastic cups and a bottle of Hennesy. "Just one drink!" She squealed and I rolled my eyes before flickering them away from her.

"Ellie drink something!" A voice shouted over the music and I whipped my head back towards Lizzie and groaned deeply before I grabbed the cup from her hand and downed it in one go. She squealed loudly once again and I chuckled as I lowered the cup from my mouth.

"Yeah let loose!"

She grabbed my hand and dragged me out of the kitchen and towards the living of dancing bodies. I ignored the disgust that crept up my body and began to dance to the beat of the song.

And even though I only had one lousy cup I was an extreme lightweight. I could feel myself growing tipsy as we danced and I groaned deeply.

I'm no good with alcohol.

No good at all.
