CHAPTER 4 - MARRIAGE OF CONVENIENCE
"We are done here, let's go back" Asher turned to Liam and threw him the car keys "You, drive"
"But, I have to go back to work, I can't follow you home" Liam complained after catching the car keys.
Asher paid no attention to Liam's words as he continued walking outside, toward where the car was parked.
"You saw everything just now, right? How do you suggest we go about this?" Asher was referring to Cyra.
Hearing Asher's question, Liam realized that they still had to talk about the current situation and what they just saw so he had to follow Asher home. They could not have a discussion like this in public.
"Drive," Asher said to Liam as soon as they got into the car.
When they got home, the both of them immediately went to the study for the discussion.
"What do you say?" Asher asked again.
Liam pondered about everything they had seen at the hospital.
They had followed Cyra into the hospital and hid in a corner for a reason. They had to confirm if she was indeed a golden fae.
After Cyra had come down from the car, Liam remembered something he had forgotten to tell Asher.
You can check if someone is a golden fae by using the moon clove and you can confirm it if the person's eyes turn golden just like the moon clove.
Immediately Asher heard of this, he wanted to confirm it.
And just like that, they went into the hospital and caught up with Cyra.
After hiding in a conspicuous corner where Cyra would not notice them, Asher proceeded to imbue energy into the moon clove. They focused their eyes on Cyra and at the same time the moon clove turned golden, her eyes also had a bright golden flicker.
Cyra herself did not notice anything because she was too busy wallowing in her sorrows at that time.
"Why don't you propose a marriage of convenience to her like they do in those romance novels?
After all, she needs money for her brother's surgery and you happen to have money, a lot of it.
You need a golden fae to break the curse and save your mother and she happens to be a golden fae.
It's a win-win situation." According to Liam, this was the best approach to a situation like this. Who knew the romance novels he had read would help in this situation, he had to thank those authors for this.
"A marriage of mutual convenience, huh, not bad. This works well." Asher smiled, deep in thought.
"The only problem would be her struggling to accept her identity as a golden fae after we tell her everything. She would also find it hard to believe that magic, jinns mages, and other creatures currently exist in this century."
"What's hard to believe there? we just have to show her, after all, she is one of those creatures herself." Asher assured Liam.
"That's true, it won't be hard. Anyways, you need to act fast, you have less than forty-eight hours."
"I know"
"Alright then, I'll go see how Aunty is doing" Liam got up and exited the study after saying this leaving Asher to revel in his thoughts.
.............
The next day
Cyra had come to work early with visible eye bags under her eyes. She hadn't slept the whole night because she had been looking for a way to raise money.
She had even thought of selling the house where they currently stayed but they would have nowhere else to live in if she sold it. It was the house left behind by their father. The house was given to their father by the government because of his good merits and great contributions.
She had also thought of taking a loan from the bank, but the procedures were lengthy and it would take more than two days.
Lora and her mother had given Cyra some money. It was huge, but it could only cover one-third of the money required.
In addition to that, Cyra had sold some of her mother's old jewelry to get money. She also took the money in the cafe's reserve. She now had half of the money needed for the transplant.
She was fervently looking for a way to get the other half of the money.
Although, she hadn't found a way to get the money, staying at the hospital won't do her any good. It was better she got to work than sit around immersing in her sorrows.
Cyra suddenly remembered someone whom she had forgotten for a while.
Her father had a friend who used to stay in the same area as them, but recently, he moved with his family because his son's company was doing well.
She could ask around for his address and visit him or she could ask for his or his son's number and maybe give them a call.
She was sure they would help them because they were very fond of her and Ollie.
Cyra suddenly heard the sound signaling that a customer had come in.
She went out to answer the customer but was surprised by the sight that greeted her.
The handsome young man who was with the good-looking researcher yesterday was back again today.
Maybe he still had business to discuss with the good-looking researcher, Cyra thought.
She watched him take a seat before going forward to ask him what he wanted.
"Good morning, Sir. What would you like to order?"
"Actually, I don't need anything. I'm here to talk to you." Asher replied.
"Talk to me? About what?" Cyra was perplexed as she did not expect that he would be here to talk to her instead of having a business discussion with the good-looking researcher as she had thought.
"Your brother," Asher said nonchalantly.
"What do you mean?"
"Why don't you have a seat before we continue" Asher gestured for Cyra to seat opposite him and as soon as Cyra sat down, he continued.
