Chapter 9: Lifeless Wolf

MIN HA NA’S POINT OF VIEW

I jolted from my sleep as I suddenly heard a loud scream echoing my ears. My eyes blinked a few times, noticing a figure meters away from me but I couldn't clearly see.

"J-Jimin?"

I wiped my eyes to get a clear view and just staying still. He was looking at the direction where the scream was, and immediately stormed to where it was leaving me confused. I stood up from my place and was about to run after him but then I heard a voice whimpering for help and looked to see—

My jaw dropped, eyes bulging, my entire body is starting to shake as tears starts to fall down my cheeks seeing my cousin lying down in a pool of blood and looking for me.

"J-Jungkookie?!" I screamed, shivering as goosebumps arose all over me and tears continue to flow. My knees fell on the ground as I crawled towards him.

"Jungkookie?" I whimpered, wrapping my arms around his bloody little and fragile body while my hands immediately put pressure on his neck, where the blood is continuously oozing out.

"Oh god, help us!" I yelped, not leaving my hands from Jungkook's neck.

Looking at Jungkook with tears running down my cheeks, he was forcing out a smile but his expression turned grimace as he winced in pain.

"N-Noona..." He stuttered trying to form out words as I could feel him agonising in pain. "Don't c-cry please."

"What happened to you?" I cried out.

Jungkook coughed, tears and sweats along with his blood streamed down his face. "I d-don't know, noona but it h-urts a lot."

I couldn't even bear to see this child hurt before...and now because of m-me? He's dying?

"It's my fault." I muttered, sobbing and pulling Jungkook closer to me. "I shouldn't of have ran away with y-you in this forest. I couldn’t even protect you."

Jungkook shook his head, probably telling me something. I hushed him, not letting him to speak further.

"You have to bear with it, okay? Noona promise to s-save you. Please wait a bit." I begged, pressing our foreheads together.

Wait until your Aunt Elisse comes back.

Jungkook cracked a pained and sad smile before whispering softly. "A-alright, N-Noona. I w-will wait."

Seeing his eyes closing slowly and slowly, my entire world came crushing down as I could feel his entire body shakes vulnerably making me anxious and panic.

"Don't sleep on me, Jungkook!" I wailed, shaking him to keep him from sleeping. I pulled my hands away from the neck to see the wound still sprouting blood from the open area and abruptly put it back to stop the blood.

He was bitten by a vampire. This innocent kid...

And then suddenly, something hit me.

Park Jimin.

Jimin? How? Why? He did this? I couldn't be wrong. He was the only one with us last night.

But... Jimin doesn't look like someone who is a vampire. Impossible. He almost looked like a human.

However, isn't it my fault? For forgetting that vampires can look like humans as well?!

Ha Na...just what have you done to the innocent kid?

"HA NA!" I heard a voice yell from behind and I looked up to see Elisse.

A smile appeared on my lips as tears flowed down even more. I'm happy. I'm happy that we—

"Jungkoo—" I couldn't utter a word anymore as I already saw a child looking so pale and lifeless in my arms. "...kie?"

"Jungkookie..." I called out once again, voice split. "Aunt Elisse is already here. Noona promised to save you, right? Please wake up now."

But then once again, Jungkook's body is not moving anymore. It was like he wasn't breathing anymore.

"Don't pull jokes on me, Jungkookie." I nervously laughed, tears flowing down. But he wasn't blinking nor moving his hands. He just stayed still peacefully sleeping in my arms.

"Don't you want Banana Milk?" I sobbed, pulling him tightly into my arms. "Noona-ga, will give you a bunch of banana milk, alright? What do you think about it?"

"Fuck!" I heard Elisse muttered from behind me. "How come they are here?"

I didn't bother but continue to shake Jungkook's body and crying.

Please breathe. Please be alive. I prayed to Gods that this kid in my arms is still alive.

Please let me hear those adorable giggles along with his bunny smile and doe eyes again.

"Ha Na!" Elisse scorned at me and pulled me up— my cousin's body fell on the ground.

Why is she so strong?

"We need to escape!"

"B-but—" She wasted no time and grabs my arms away from the place from where we were and left the lifeless boy in the cold ground in this cold weather.

I'm sorry, Jungkookie.

THIRD PERSON’S POINT OF VIEW

"Hang up now, Hoseok." Seokjin sternly said. Hoseok been bothering him while he is on duty. He was so busy enough with the kingdom affairs and now with this werewolf issues.

He groaned and made his way inside the hotel where a fellow of his reported that werewolves has gone to this hotel.

"Excuse me." Seokjin approached the employee, grabbing the badge that Taehyung gave him.

"We're here by the orders of the King." He told her pulling out the badge. "You see, a news about putting an end to the werewolves has come. We need to do an inspection here."

The employee doubtly looked at the group of vampires before she finally nodded. "Alright. Let me guide you, Sir."

"Please wait for a moment, Ma'am." The young employee told the woman who was beside him.

I'm guessing she's a vampire too, just by her scent. Seokjin mentally thought, not bothering her anymore.

"It's alright. I'll wait." The employee told her, nodding.

They made their way to the elevator but then stopped when the employee looked around.

"Is something wrong?" Seokjin asked.

"Oh? Why did she leave?" The employee furrowed her eyebrows.

Everyone turned their heads around to see that the woman is gone.

What? Why?

"I think she may be a werewolf, my lord." One of his comrades informed but Seokjin shook his head.

"She's definitely a vampire." Seokjin raised an eyebrow at his comrade.

"I kind of sensed the wolf's smell as well..." Another comrade of his, Jun, muttered.

Although Seokjin have good sense of smell, no one can compare to Jun's smelling abilities besides Jimin.

"What do you mean?" Seokjin scorned at him.

Jun gulped. "It looks like she had an interaction with a werewolf not so long ago."

Without any hesitation of decision, Seokjin turned around and looked at his comrades.

"Jun," He pointed at Jun. "Come with me while the others go search for possible werewolves in this hotel."

"Yes sir!" They chanted.

Jin and the other left, following the girl by the use of her scent.

The two vampires noticed that she stopped on the side of the road before entering the large forest.

What is she doing here?

"That's strange." Jun tilt his head in confusion. "Why is there such a strong smell of a werewolf there?"

"It must be where the wolves are hidden." Seokjin snarled looking at the girl who was looking suspicious a while ago.

"My lord, it's definitely just one." He mumbled. "But that one werewolf really has a strong smell."

Seokjin failed to hear out his own comrade's mumbles as he opened the car. "Let's get out."

They followed the girl all the way until she stopped and looked at something. Seokjin couldn't see but he sensed some scent that is so familiar and another familiar unique scent to him.

It's Jimin's smell? Seokjin raised an eyebrows, surprised that the man is here. What is he doing here? And why is there a wolf's smell nearby?

He snapped out as he saw the woman earlier who ran far away from where she was before he heard a scream making both of them startle.

Although they lost her, he could still smell her all the way to where they are and the scent of her smell has gotten strong indicating she's nearby again.

Seokjin walked until he saw her standing and talking to a girl. She turned around and for a second there, they made a 0.1 milisecond eye contact in which she immediately avoided.

After a few seconds, she grabbed someone and started running. She's fast and Seokjin wanted to run after her but Jun stopped him.

"It's a wolf's blood?" Seokjin looked at him in confusion and followed him. His eye widened in surprise.

There lies a young little boy, lifeless.

A lifeless little wolf.
