CHAPTER NINE

I woke up to my phone's alarm, sleepily shutting it off. It was 6 in the morning and seeing

the walls of the room, I recognized that the room wasn't mine then I remembered that I stayed at

Celine's. I looked at my right side as I felt movements then there, I say Celine snoring softly, her

arms under her head and her hair is everywhere but her face. She's so cute and her scent lingered

through my nose making me want to nuzzle my head on her neck.

"Morning" she said still half asleep, I smile at her lovely she is.

"morning.. what time we'll gonna be at school?" I asked her as I stretched my body

"9..ish i think. I'm still sleepy though. Are you feeling okay now?"

"then sleep, I'm better now. Thank you. mind if I rummage your kitchen?"

"no. Do whatever you want Max just don’t burn down my apartment"

I giggled at what she said and pinched her cheeks side by side. "ouch" she said pouting as

she pulls away from my grip, but I stayed still causing me to fall on top on her. Our face were

inches apart. I can feel her breathe on my face, which smelt so good for a morning breathe. She

pouts and I can feel my face heat up because of our position and the face she's giving me.

"j..just get some m..more sleep" I said moving away from her and walking out the door to

her kitchen.

Her kitchen was just a meter away from her living room. As I searched for food, I found

three eggs, bacon and bread. After preparing our breakfast, I also prepare coffee because I can’t

go on a day without caffeine in my body, it is the only legal drug I can have.

"Here, you can borrow my clothes since you don’t have any" Celine said as she leaned in

the door frame of the kitchen showing me a pair of pants and shirt.

"thank you.. and I prepare breakfast, let's eat" I said as I watched how her eyes glow

from the food. She is wearing a black skinny jean and a crop top, match with her black vans

shoes. She looks simple yet strikingly beautiful.

"a..ahm, you gonna eat?" she asked probably seeing me checked her out

I nodded and we ate in silence, a comfortable silence. But it was interrupted when my

phone rang. I excused myself and answered it seeing it’s one of the student council, Wren, one of

my closest friends too.

"Where are you? Meet me at the landmark in 10 minutes will be buying some stuff for the

event" She said as soon as I answered the phone

"Good morning to you too Wren. I'll be there"

"Good. I'll be having a date with my boyfriend after this so hurry up" She laughed and

hang up.

Celine and I both arrived at school 5 minutes later. I told her I needed to run an errand for

the student council and she told me she'd just hang out with the girls. I wanted to spend my they

with her--them today but I better be with Wren to finish our task for tomorrow's event.

The day went so fast that I didn’t seemed to noticed its 6 in the afternoon already. I

decided to check the room if someone's still there. But i was disappointed to see an empty

classroom. I walked away dejectedly but I bumped into someone causing for her food to

scattered on the cold floor.

"I'm so sorry" I said and looked up only to see Celine pouting at me.

"It's okay, I’m gonna just buy another one" she said eyeing me

"I thought you guys go home?" I asked but she just grab my wrist as we enter the room.

She got her bag and murmured "I’m waiting for you". I blushed and looked at her curiously by

what she meant by that.

"So.. Do you want to grab dinner together?" I asked suddenly surprised by what I asked.

"i..its just because of the food I,,.you know..we could habe just pizza or chinese or.. " she spoke

too as she noticed me rumbling with words. Finding excuse on why I am asking her out.

"Is that how the famous Maxine Gray Smith ask for a date?" She asked laughing as we

walked down the aisle. The sun is setting and it reflects on her coffee-colored eyes which

became my favorite scenery from now.

"Yes. No!. I mean.. Its because I..i " I was lost for words. Am I asking her out? The idea

gave me butterflies and such other insects in my stomach if that's even possible.

"Yeah. I would love to." She gave me her precious smile and I can feel my smile tearing

my cheeks apart.

We end up having dinner in a Seafood Restaurant named D'Grills. We both love seafood

so we decided to eat here, as we were waiting for our food to arrive, we causally talked about

stuff. Good thing was not in our uniforms.

As soon as our order arrive, we started to dig in. I was about to ask something when

someone interrupted us.

"Celine?" an annoying voice spoke behind me. Celine just looked up to see who just

entered because she's facing the door. She instantly put on an uncomfortable smile as the person

walked towards us.

"I didn't see you all day at school" she remarked, and I was surprised to see who it was. It

was the girl I overheard mentioning about how Celine broke her heart. I mentally laughed.

"I was busy." She replied in a monotonous tone. "Kris, this is Maxine. Max, meet Kris."

she introduced us, i simply waved and murmured a simple hello.

"Hii!" she greeted me with an over tone. She might sense that she's interrupting

something when Celine cleared her throat, she then waved goodbye and told Celine a simple 'see

you'.

"So.." I was being nosy but i really wanted to know who that girl is. "who's she?"

"She's Kris" she stated in a matter of fact tone

"Yeah I know. I mean, you don’t have to tell me anything if it bothers you. It's just that I

overheard that girl saying something about you back then." I said nonchalantly chewing the

squid. It tastes so good.

"what did she say about me?" she asked arching her perfect brows.

"that you broke her heart" after I said that I can't contain my laughter because of how

dramatic that girl sounds, when i overheard her. The next thing I knew, we were both laughing

hard and God, her laughter is so pleasing to hear. I can live with it the whole day or even a

decade.

"Yeah, I kind of" she said between laughter. Then straighten her seat and told me

everything. "she kind of confess to me during our first year in high school and at that time I was

so innocent to know what love is, so I told her I am not in love with her, which is true and I see

her as a friend, no more than that." She explained also that Kris had become her constant stalker.

After that, we both shared our humiliating events during high school and even grade

school. We decided to stroll around the park for a while talking about everything and went home

at 10.

I was laying in my bed when I remember that I forgot to ask her. IS SHE INTO

GIRLS????
