Chapter 9

Ryan scowled at his uncle who was busy looking at him, with so much anger in his face.

"Stop with all these tantrums you are pulling Eric. I already told you I wasn’t ready to get married, I don’t need a fucking wife to run the business!, I’ve been running it perfectly for years without a wife and it won’t be any different now”.

Mr. Ryan sighs at Eric, his Uncle and director of the Enterprise. They had been constantly on an argument on how recklessly Ryan was living his life.

“You should know how important this company is to Ryan, this is the only inheritance you have as the first legitimate son of Diamond Enterprise." Eric stares angrily at Ryan, if only he could actually heed to his warnings.

"The board directors don’t believe you can actually make it as the company CEO with you running around with sluts and bringing different girls to your bed each night”. He pauses and takes in a deep breath.

“The council has decided, you are to get married soon or kiss your precious CEO position goodbye” he finally stands and leaves banging the door behind him.

“Fuck!!” Ryan bangs on the table in front of him. He wasn't yet ready to settle down, how could he when he literally had so many things to do?.

"Stupid old man who thinks he can control my life the way he wants to; no one can take my position from me!" Ryan muttered under his breath angrily.

Ever since he became the CEO of the Diamond Enterprise, his uncle and his mother have been trying to get him married by all possible means.

And by all possible means, he means that they have tried everything that they could think of, choosing wives for him, throwing him a bachelorette party and other stuff like that, but he always turned down the girls.

He would get married soon, just not now.

Ryan was determined, he vowed not to let his uncle and worse, his mother win this time .even if it was for him to actually cross his boundaries.

“Are you sure Anya? I mean you might be late for your night shift today, I wouldn’t want to bother you more” Sharon Anya's best friend and roommate sighed, crossing her arms and staring at Anya in a sorrowful mode.

After Sharon's mother died, she had been down and unable to concentrate.

“I certainly would not let you miss your mum's burial for the world, I won’t be worn out." Anya laughs slowly.

Besides, cleaning a penthouse is no big deal “. She offers a smile.

“Thank you so much bestie, I really don’t know what to do without you” Sharon said as she dragged Anya forward and hugged her tight.

“Opps, I’d be late for the burial” she continued and cut off the hug packing a few things into her bag before leaving.

Anya takes a deep breath, today was going to be a long night. Everything in Anya's life was just as fucked up as her name itself.

Her full name was Anya Olsen although she only permitted her friends to call her by her short name, Anya.

Being as young as 23, she lived alone in a rented apartment with her best friend Sharon, they both worked at Diamond Enterprise, although Sharon had the cooler job.

Anya worked as the hotel cleaner and Sharon was in charge of cleaning the penthouse where the CEO resides.

Everyone envied her because obviously, she gets to be in the same apartment as the CEO of Black’s co-operation, the most feared, yet respected man in the country, Mr. Ryan Scott, P.S every girl's dream.

She hurriedly exits the building and quickly hires a cab down to the Diamond Enterprise penthouse, Sharon was always expected to clean up the house before it clocked nine.

Anya let out a sign, she knew she was already running out of time, she had less than an hour, if she didn't hurry up, she was going to put her best friend in deep shit.

 Did you just say that someone is leaking out secrets of the famous enterprise owned by the Golden Enterprises? Ryan asked, looking at his best friend Nathaniel, who was currently sitting in his office, talking.

“I know, it sounds weird and all but the evidence is there, someone is definitely leaking out information, and is going viral already". Nathaniel said, placing his legs on the table.

Ryan crosses his arms in a thinking manner, he wondered who was doing such a thing.

“And you suspect it's someone from this company?” Ryan’s jaws clench at the idea, if it was he was surely going to fire every damn worker and bring in new ones. He didn't care if they were guilty or not. 

“There could be a possibility, but the chances are slim, probably, have you been monitoring your uncle lately? perhaps he has a hand in it” he curves his lips but Ryan shakes his head. Although Eric acts like a devil at times, he wouldn't do something like that, not when he still has interest in the company.

“I doubt, Eric is too clever for that, he covers his steps pretty well like the dog he is, and besides transferring private information will do him no good” Draven tisk his lips, his uncle was indeed smart, maybe too smart for his own good.

“But Eric wants Lukas to take over the company, the Golden Enterprise. Don’t you think he will try to find all possible means to make the council members see you as weak” Nathaniel  suggested, Ryan always knew Eric had hidden agendas but not that it might amount to him leaking private information.

“Yes, that could also be considered but knowing Eric, he wouldn’t want the company scattered, he’d prefer it’s in its best stage so still his out of the suspect list. You do know that Golden Enterprise and Diamond enterprise need to be together, after all my grandfather and his brother founded it” He sighs. 

“What do we do now” Derrick brings up his palm in surrender.

“Get the names of all employees that work at the company, but first, get me my driver”
