Chapter-25 Are you alright?

The sky was dark and low, the air was so chilled, that it hurt to breathe. And The beautiful lady sat there, dominated by a profound sadness, fatigue engraved on her beautiful face. The sorrow grew more profound by each passing moment in this quiet, lonely house, the solemn walls reviving the memories of him she made in just a few days of her marriage. And When the sadness came her appetite was ash on the floor. The food gets stuck, and there she was playing with the cutlery lost in some other world.

Her eyes shifted to the side of the main door again and became glazed with a glassy layer of tears. As she blinked, they dripped from her eyelids and slid down her cheeks. She bit her lip tightly in an attempt to hide any sound that wanted to escape from her mouth. looking here and there in search of some peace and solace, suddenly her eyes fell on the glass wall of the balcony and she saw the sky. It was a cold moonless night. The silver and soothing light of the moon was missing and the sky was looking very dark and dull.

The night seemed lonely, as sharing her pain and her grief had grown up by several degrees. "It was only 4 hours since he left, and she was wandering in that big white mansion like a restless soul, God only knows how she is going to spend the whole 4 days.”, a thought came running in her mind and again some tears spilled from her big black eyes. She again threw a faint look on the plate before her and got up to leave without having even a bite.

But as soon as she turned to leave an annoyed and angry voice rang in her ears," Muskaan, where are you going? Why always have to compromise on food only? Sit and eat properly" She desperately looked everywhere and of course found no one and understood that it's only his memories playing with her senses.

Helplessly she sat again, and pulled the plate. The dish was full of her favorite vegetable Maggie, but tonight even that lost all the tastes, but somehow, she gulped down some quick bites and went in the room.

Tired of turning and tossing, she sat on the bed. The room was cold and the bed was colder. His warmth, his hand holds and his teachings, she was missing him like anything. She tucked some hairs behind her ears and ran her fingers in her long silky masses. " I like your open hair more." He again came to play with her senses.

She pulled a strand of her hairs like he always did while playing with her hairs, when she adjusted his collars. She quickly tied her hairs in a bun and thought restlessly, "Muskaan, don't do this. It's just some hours and you are already missing him."

She was trying her every nerve to be calm and strong but somehow failing miserably in each passing moment. Loneliness was getting scary now. She was craving for his warm hand around her, embracing her in himself. She was dying for his shoulders to rely upon and she was sulking for his soothing voice to heal her.

" Voice, wait a minute. Why didn't he call till now? It's too late already. His flight must be landed." She thought worried. " Oh God, please keep him safe. Please keep him safe for me, please God."

Now a deep worried feeling surging in her nerves and her heart started to pound as if it wanted to come out of her lungs. She kept her one hand on her heart, tried to think positive," no Muskaan, don't think negative. Think positive, everything is alright

Everything is alright. He is fine. He is fine." She was trying her best to cope up with the situation but couldn't stop her lips to pray for his well-being continuously.

After some moments of utter tension, she thought something and went to the washroom and washed her face. Though the water was chilled but soothe her burning eyes and calmed her down a bit. She pulled a book and sat to read just to distract her mind, but her restless eyes were looking at the phone as she couldn't help but wait for his call now desperately.

Some more time passed and now her restlessness was growing to infinity by every moment and leaving the book aside she was walking here and there restlessly rubbing her hands together. Her prayers went longer and her eyes were afraid to spill vigorously any moment. still trying to think practically, she searched for a phone diary and looked for the number of. She didn't know anyone but Sanjay and Raghav, so thought to call Sanjay, so that he could help her to know his whereabouts. But before she could find his number or call him, the phone rang and that shrill ring of phone was like a last ray of hope for her and she received the call before the first ring, while her every nerve was praying for good news. She clutched the receiver with both hands and a scared faint hello escaped from her lips.

" Hello, hello Muskaan, Muskaan..." His deep voice rang in her ears and instantly a sigh of relief escaped from her mouth. And she asked a little worried still," please, tell me you are fine, alright."

She was asking him worriedly and her shivering stammering voice alerted him. and he replied slowly but very softly, "yes Muskaan, I am alright, absolutely fine. What would happen to me? Bit what happened to you? Why you are sounding so worried. Has anything happened? "

She took some deep breaths and now replied a little relaxed," why are you calling so late? I was hell worried, wasn't I? Where have you been? Was your flight delayed?"

Kabeer understood her tension, and his smile curved into a sweet smile instantly, while he replied, "no Muskaan, flight was on time, but when I reached here, I got to know that organizers had arranged a get together for participants. So, I was there and I got late to call."

" Party, you mean here I was dying of tension and you were partying there. Really. Didn't I tell you to call me whenever you reach? Did you even bother to listen and think about that? Or I never meant for anything to you? Can you even think, how difficult these hours are for me? Her whole depression, restlessness and tension turned into anger and directed on him, and she scolded him angry but worried as hell.

Kabeer frowned on this sudden turn of scenario, but a deep feeling of closeness and belongingness surged and overwhelmed his every nerve. A feeling which he couldn't really describe in words as never ever felt before, but the satisfaction and a pleasure soaked his soul immediately. And smiling he opened his mouth to reply but before he could, her angry voice again hit the walls of his ears and she said," you know what, it's not you but me. Yes, I am crazy about thinking about you and waiting for your call, when you don't even bother to listen to me. But not now, now, you go, and have your party, I don't want to talk to you anymore." And a loud sound crashed his ears and he was sure that definitely that phone set got damaged.

He was feeling content with her worries a few moments before and now smiled wide when faced with her profound but cute anger. And now she cut the call and he realized that she was upset. First, he looked at the receiver in disbelief and shook his head, but smiling wholeheartedly dialed the number again, this time all prepared to pacify his sulking beloved wife. But before he could say something, hard sobs of her feel like a bomb on his ears. For a moment, he got very worried about why she was having a sudden mind swing and of course she was sad and angry but why was she crying this bitterly. Was there something else also bothering her?
