Death.

The action or fact of dying or being killed; the end of the life of a person or organism.

If you were to type the noun death into Google this is the exact definition you would gain.

However, Google, being Google, fails to express how it feels to be dying, how it feels to be in such excruciating agony that the notion of death is truly able to enter your consciousness, and how the fear of dying begins to dominate all of your optimistic thoughts of survival.

But as my bloodcurdling screams continued to ring around the cold, steel walls, and as my frail body continued to thrash around against the damp and bloody floor, and as the the metal chains that painfully bounded my arms against the steel roof, cut deeper and deeper into my flesh.

Only one thought continued to circulate my pounding mind.
