Chapter 07

Saint stopped by a popular restaurant. He thought of seeing his old friend before he went home—that restaurant owned by Lucio, who is over 60 years old. Lucio is a close friend of his late father, who is now his friend.

The two bodyguards of Saint were about to follow inside the resto, but he immediately stopped them.

"Just stay here outside," he said, and without emotion, the two men in black nodded before Saint finally went inside.

When Saint entered, he saw his friend Lucio standing behind the counter where he counted thousands of money. He wore a simple white checkered short sleeves polo tucked into his dark brown pants. The hairs on his head are now white, and his beard is also white due to his age. However, even so, his elegant posture and the muscular physique of Lucio man are still noticeable.

And because there is a bell hanging above the door of that restaurant where it rings when someone opens it, that's why Saint immediately gets the attention of his old friend.

"Oh, Saint, what are you doing here?" Lucio immediately asked him when he got close to the counter.

"Why are you here downstairs?" he asked, avoiding the first question. "Don't you have another guard here?"

"I'm going upstairs too. My guard is on lunch break now, so that I will take over first, but he will come back soon," Lucio answered, looking directly at him.

"Okay. I'll go upstairs first; just follow me; I have something to ask you," Saint said without emotion, and he didn't wait for the old man to answer, and he went upstairs.

Even though the age gap between the two of them is far, Saint is not used to showing respect to his old friend. If they talk, it's like they're the same age, and it's not a big deal to the old man. Even though Lucio considers Saint a grandson, he prefers how they treat each other as colleagues and friends. They are close to each other; since they have the same attitude, wealth, and power.

After Saint went up to Lucio's office, he immediately went to his wine box that was sitting on the long table. He took a bottle and a glass and sat on the couch. Wordlessly he poured wine into his glass and drank while waiting for his old friend to come up too.

Saint only waited a few minutes until the door slowly opened and the figure of Lucio spat out. Lucio went inside, and Saint noticed the lifting on Lucio's side lip.

"Why are you smiling?" he asked, sipping his wine.

"I just didn't expect that you would come and visit me. Is something bothering you?" Lucio also took a glass and grabbed the wine bottle from Saint. He sat down on another couch facing Saint.

Saint took a deep breath before he sat up properly and faced his friend. The old man knows very well that every time he visits his resto, it's because he has a problem or whenever his mind is messed up.

As a matter of fact, Saint is still hesitant if he should tell Lucio the things that were going through his mind at that time. Still, he knew he could trust his other friends, but he felt more comfortable talking about the matter with Lucio. He also thinks that the old man will understand him better than his other friend.

"Do you still remember Lila?" he asked weakly but seriously.

Lucio was silent because of his questions. He stopped while drinking because the glass was still on his lips. Saint expected Lucio to react that way because of the name he had mentioned.

For how long as they've known each other, Saint doesn't want to talk about that girl. He always avoided that topic, but now, he was the one who started the conversation about Lila.

There's an unfamiliar feeling inside Saint hearing that woman's name in his own mouth.

Lucio didn't answer him immediately, but it didn't take long before he slowly lowered the glass and looked at him, "Yes. Why? Is there a problem, Saint?"

"Is she really dead?" Saint asked directly at him.

The old man's pause did not escape Saint's sight, but it soon changed into astonishment, and he could not believe his question.

"Of course!" Lucio answered initially. "She's been dead for a long time, Saint. It's been a few years now. Your eyes also witnessed what happened to Lila. Her parents are dead, and she has no other relatives or siblings, so no one has pursued her death. Why? Did something happen? Is there a problem?" Lucio asked worriedly.

Saint could only shake his head in response to his old friend.

"Just tell me if there's a problem, Saint. I am here to listen to you or help you," Lucio said, but Saint remained silent as if he had no intention of answering him. "Are you doubting that Lila is still alive?"

"I don't doubt it. She just suddenly entered my mind. But I don't have a problem; forget what we talked about,"-

AT SAINT’S HOUSE

‘You survived from Helmer, but it doesn't mean you won't have the same fate with Saint.’ Those are just some of the things that Dein will never forget about what Cadence told her earlier before he left. Those remarks continue to run through the woman’s mind.

Because of too much thinking, Dein felt the hunger that she was trying to avoid since at the hospital. Even though she wanted to cook for her food, she just couldn't do it because she was afraid that Saint would scold her if she stole his foods. That's why she chose to endure her hunger as long as she can.

Dein was in the living room until she decided to go up to her room. She was just about to go upstairs to sleep the hunger and body pain she was feeling when she was automatically stopped from stepping on the stairs because of the sounds of a series of cars arriving in the outside.

Dein forget that she was going upstairs until Saint finally entered the house. She noticed that the young man was a bit stunned when their eyes immediately met. Maybe the young man was surprised by her presence. But the surprise didn't take long until she could see the coldness and sharpness on Saint’s eyes.

"What the fuck are you staring at?" Saint asked as he removed the necktie he was wearing. He was also frowning at Dein.

Dein couldn't help but swallowed hard and then she decided to gradually descend off the stairs to face the man.

"Uhm… C-can…” Dein couldn’t tell straight to Riguel that she wanted to asked for foods. “Can I--” She was interrupted by those men in black who entered the house while carrying shopping bags in their hands. Those men just had a straight face as they put those bags on the couch.

Dein couldn't do anything but watched those seven man lining up to deliver the shopping bags. She could hardly count the paper bags of different sizes that the men were placing on top of each other and soon after, they bowed to Saint and left.

"It's all yours," Saint suddenly said, referring to those shopping bags.

Because of what Dein heard, she automatically turned her eyes to Saint. She was shocked because she didn't expect that the man would spend a lot of money on her, adding that those logos printed on the shopping bags were all branded and expensive.

“F-for me?” Dein even pointed herself.

“I am now investing into you. So weather you like it or not… you belong to me now. Try to run away from me and I will charge you a lot and with interest." Saint whispered in Dein's ear so she could feel body hair shivered. "Understood?"
