Chapter 9

Sweet Aphrodite's POV

I shouldn't go there when I have no idea who is waiting for me but my feet are already walking. I feel light-headed while making my way up to the rooftop and my body is moving as if I am hypnotized.

I pushed the door of the rooftop to open it. I inhaled sharply as I make steps. The harsh wind blew my hair. I looked around and saw no one.

I went to the edge that is barricaded by the steel railings. The cold rail makes me shudder when I touch it. My lips parted and I felt a bit dizzy after I looked down and saw how high this place is. Anyone who would jump here would never make it alive. The students that are scattered down there look small.

I squealed in shock when someone aggressively pulled me then pinned me against the wall. That was a fast movement that shocked my whole system. With wide eyes and my free hand covering my mouth, I stared at the man in front of me. My breath became irregular when I realized who is he.

His jaw clenched hardly then he squeezed me between the wall and his hard body. Behind his mask, I can see his gray eyes that are smoldering with madness. The rage in his eyes made my heart pound.

"What--" I whispered breathily that I failed to finish when he removed my hand that is covering my mouth then claimed my lips savagely making my eyes close tightly.

My mind went blank as he kisses me deeply. I can feel the wrath on the way his lips move and capturing mine as if he's punishing me for something that he did not like. I can hardly breathe because of his aggressive kisses. I held on to his arm for support as he deepened the kiss like it was still not deep enough. I tasted a hint of blood then he quickly tilted his head and licked it.

Embarrassingly, I chased for his lips when he pulled from the kiss. With heavy lids, I opened my eyes and saw him staring at me with so much arrogance. Heat spread all over my face. He licked his lips and teased me for another kiss where I immediately reacted.

This is shameful because I look desperate for his kisses and it feels like I don't know myself anymore. I never knew that I would like the feeling of being kissed.

He touched my chin and kissed me teasingly then bit my lower lip, earning a soft sound from me. My cheeks heated more but I couldn't do anything for this thirst.

"You've been a very bad girl today, my Sweet Aphrodite," he whispered against my lips.

I sighed and just closed my eyes, feeling his breath. Then his hold on my chin became tight and he pulled my face closer to him.

"And I love to punish bad girls, baby."

If that would be the punishment every time I'll commit something bad, then maybe I'll be more than a sinner. I don't know. I never knew this side of mine. I never knew that I have this side that I only discovered today. I have never been in a relationship and this man, this mysterious man is my first kiss.

His aggressive kisses became slow and passionate after few moments and I am now confused about what I like more. And I feel stupid that I am thinking about what is better between the two than pulling my right mind. I shouldn't be kissing a stranger just only because he saved me a lot of times.

I leaned against the wall after the kiss. That is the only time when I realized that his hand is holding me on my waist while the other one is on the wall beside my face, cornering me.

He stared at me deeply with his enigmatic eyes then it dropped on my lips. "Does it hurt?" he asked with his bedroom voice.

My cheeks blushed again just because of his voice. I closed my eyes and shook my head. I feel like I am drunk even I have never experienced it.

"No. I think it is just swollen," I answered in a whisper.

When I opened my eyes again, I can't look at him anymore. He just stares too much that I feel like I am melting. I tried avoiding his gaze but then he made me look at him by holding my cheeks with his palm.

"I don't want you to let him touch you again. Not even kissing you." Eyes darkening, he warned me.

I blinked consecutively and stared at his face. Then I realized that he is talking about Rage. Did he saw that?

"You would not like my monster side, as much as I hate it, Sweet."

The wind blew harshly again. I shivered a bit due to the coldness that immediately stopped when he caressed my arms.

"I did not know that you will get mad," I whispered while staring at his eyes.

And he's just a friend. He is just a friend even though he affects me differently. My eyes widened a bit while I am staring at the man in front of me. They have the same effect on me. Is it possible that they are just one person? I stared at his uncovered detail. There is no impossible anymore because even the existence of a vampire is true.

I glanced at his body and realized that they almost have the same body type, lean and muscular. Their height is similar too. But their eyes, their eyes are different. Rage has a blue pair just like mine and this man has beautiful gray eyes.

But I can't easily conclude especially I can't see this mysterious man's whole face.

"I don't want to see you with any guy, with anyone," he said then gritted his teeth. "What's mine is only mine."

My lips parted a bit then I shook my head a bit while staring at him. "B-but I am not yours."

I realized that he didn't like what I said when his face was enraged. While his jaw clenching, he traced my face gently down to my lips. I swallowed the lump in my throat when I felt the tingling sensation again.

"No, you are mine, Sweet. Always remember that," he uttered. "Stay away from anyone or else..."

I tried hard not to tremble at the too much power and danger in his voice. I closed my eyes when he claimed my lips again gently. Then his presence slowly vanished. When I opened my eyes, I am already alone. I hugged myself when the wind blew again.

I am distracted with my thought while I am walking into the cafeteria. Shaking my head, I tried hard not to be oblivious.

I bought a snack and I almost snapped in front of the vendor when I realized that I forgot to ask his name. D.L was written on the note so that must be his initials.

Why did I forget that? Right, of course, because of the kiss!

I was about to leave the premises when the surrounding suddenly became heavy in feeling and cold. I looked around and it seems like I am the only one that noticed the change in atmosphere.

Then I noticed that the twin, Daniel and Daniella, just entered the cafeteria. I immediately looked away when our eyes met. I feel like I am avoiding them that is why I chose to sit instead of leaving already. Daniella remained at the entrance while his brother walked towards the food to buy.

I can feel the intense stare from someone and it feels like I know who is it.

My head jerked up when I loud commotion suddenly boomed. Then I saw Daniel in front of a big senior who is known for being a bully.

"You are just a newbie and yet, you are so arrogant, huh?" he said in a tone that is challenging the quiet Daniel.

"I'm sorry. I did not mean to step on your shoes," he uttered and turned his back.

The senior did not like it. I gasped when he grabbed Daniel by the back part of his uniform and slammed him on the floor. The other students cheered and shouted in joy while I was shocked because of the worsening of the events. He was about to throw a punch when suddenly, everything stopped moving. The temperature became lower and the deafening silence filled my ear.

Everything stopped. Some froze in the middle of laughing, the other one is on the verge of dropping his food, and a lot have their mouth wide open.

The sound of the heels caught my attention. My eyes widened when I saw Daniella walking towards the frozen crowd then I noticed Daniel helping himself to stand up while removing the dust on his uniform.

"Oh, dear brother, you attract bullies so much," she uttered. "Stop your weak and coward façade."

Daniel shook his head then punched the senior who is still frozen on his spot with his fist in mid-air. It stayed on the spot even after the consecutive strong punches. I saw Daniella picking small trashes and shooting them in the mouths of students who were supporting the bully.

"Ah, they look so stupid," Daniella said and laughed. "Last five seconds."

Daniel kicked the bully on the crotch area that made me gasp. I immediately covered my mouth when I realized that it was so audible due to the deafening silence. They aggressively looked at my spot and their eyes turned red when they saw me. I almost fell in the desperation to step backward and fortunately, everything around us unfreeze and came back to normal.

I immediately left the cafeteria, half-running, and did not bother to know the reaction of the students that were victimized by those two.

I am so bothered. How did they do that? Their eyes turned red and they could stop time for a short moment.

What are they? Vampires?

And they saw me.
