Sweet Aphrodite's POV
I watched him carried my unconscious professor. It looks like he's carrying nothing from the way he moves. Our eyes met even from afar. I looked down when my heart reacted just because of his gaze. He put Sir Pablo on the backseat then slammed the door before he sat beside me.
I watched him closely, his every move. His veins are protruding on his arms. He held the steering wheel with his big hands and his muscles tightened when he started maneuvering the wheel. I almost jump in shock when he chuckled lowly. I looked at him and I saw him smirking a bit, arrogant about what he discovered. My cheeks blushed profusely. I looked away and stared at the window instead. The deafening silence made me aware of my aching and exhausted body.
My eyes watered after I yawned. I am sleepy but I don't want to.
"Next time, don't be a curious cat. Don't put yourself in danger," he said in an authoritative voice. Sleepy, I nodded and rested my head on the window. "I always want to see you but unharmed and safe, Sweet. Do you understand?"
Like a slave on his master, I uttered, "Yes."
"Good. Now, sleep."
In a cue, my eyes closed and I fell into a deep slumber.
I woke up in the morning with my head hurting. My body is slightly aching and I feel like I have less energy. I stared at nothing for a moment and recalled what happened last night.
Our mission to gather pieces of evidence failed terribly. We almost died and did not get any documentation to prove that vampires do exist. But what important is we are still alive. And it is because of that mysterious man.
I remember his immaculate features. But that is the last thing that I should think about. His gray eyes turned red. I saw it clearly, twice. So does it mean that he is a vampire? But unlike those monstrous vampires, his are beautiful kind of red eyes. Like a human eye but only his iris are dark red. He seems stronger, too, and those vampires are scared of him.
"Too early in the morning to think deeply." I snapped out of my reverie when I heard Irene jokingly said that.
I blinked twice then smiled at her. She is readying her uniform.
I chuckled. "I just remembered something," I said and stood. I started to fix my bed.
My movement slowed down when I noticed that Irene is glancing at me from time to time. When our eyes met, she pouted her lips like she is contemplating something. Then she sighed and stopped from what she's doing.
"May I ask something?" she hesitantly asked.
I nodded. "Sure!"
She scratched on her head and sighed again. She looked at me shyly. "I don't know if I was just dreaming but... are you with a guy last night? I woke up then it seems like I saw a shadow of a man but it is surreal so... I don't know."
I feel like I turned pale. I looked away and resume fixing my bed. "Uh, you must be dreaming!" I uttered.
She laughed. "Right! That's impossible. I know you would never do that since it is prohibited to bring a guy here and you are not someone who would break a rule!" she uttered. "I feel stupid for thinking that way!"
"That is fine!" I comforted her guiltily.
I glanced at her and it seems like she believed it. She signaled that she is going to shower. I smiled and nodded at her. I let out a big sigh when she's already out.
So, he was here! Of course. There is no other way. I fell asleep and he brought me to my bed. A realization came up.
With wide eyes, I looked at my body and I found myself wearing my sleeping dress.
My cheeks heated profusely with the thought of him changing my clothes. He saw my body, almost naked.
I silently feel my body if there is anything wrong but there is nothing.
I don't know if I should be thankful that he changed my clothes. If he did not, Irene and Stella would see me wearing ripped clothes.
I shook my head aggressively, trying to shake off those thoughts. I began doing my morning routine before I go to school. I am relieved that I had a dreamless sleep, unlike what I had for the past few days. I am glad that what happened last night did not haunt me in my dreams.
I arrived at our room with my classmates so busy doing their assignments. Some are copying from those who are already done and some are doing it on their own. I don't have the same problem since I have already done it before I went to our mission last night.
"Hi, Sweet!" Aaron greeted me enthusiastically. He sat on the vacant seat beside me and watched me closely.
I smiled. "Hello, Aaron."
"Our classmates are lucky. Sir Pablo would be super late," he confidently said.
I raised my brow. I suddenly remembered him. Sir Pablo was hurt last night. Could he attend the class today? I need to talk to him and ask if he's fine.
"Why?" I feel stupid for asking that.
"He is my neighbor, remember? I saw him sleeping in his car soundly. I did not wake him up so... you know, we won't have class on his subject. Happy!" he uttered happily like a child.
Realization dawned on me. The mysterious man left him in the car. That's too kind of him to make an effort and bring me to my bed. Sir Pablo was only left in his car but at least he is safe.
"But you know what's weird?" he whispered, slightly leaning towards me.
My heart pounded when I began overthinking. "What?"
"I think I saw bloodstains on his cloth and there are parts that are ripped but I am not sure. He doesn't have any wound and he's even snoring."
My brows furrowed. Not that I am disappointed but I am curious. I was sure that he was wounded and hurt by the vampire who hurt him but now, Aaron is telling me that he is perfectly fine? How that even happened? Is it possible that the mysterious man healed him? I can't help but smile. That's so kind of him.
It is like a tornado went in when suddenly, Sir Pablo came hurriedly. My classmates panicked and went to their original seats. My eyes focused on our professor when I noticed his disheveled hair and his clothes are not well-ironed like usual. The way his sleeves are rolled up to his forearms is not properly made. He looks a bit disoriented like he just woke up.
"I was wrong," Aaron whispered disappointedly before he went to his seat.
I glanced at my wristwatch and I realized that he's fifteen minutes late. That is very unusual for Sir Pablo but it is impressive how he prioritizes the work that he came here urgently.
He greeted us that we immediately answered. He checked the attendance like the usual after he apologized. Our eyes met a lot of times but it feels like nothing happened last night. I shrugged it off and think that he is just on his teaching mode. He is very professional and passionate on his work.
He was disturbed when another teacher came in to announce something.
"We have transferees," she happily informed. "Come in, guys!"
Two people came in. The two looks like a twin although they are boy and girl. My brows furrowed when I felt something heavy with their presence.
After few seconds, another man came in. We have the same eye color but his blue eyes look more lively, light, and peaceful. Our eyes met and I felt something.
He feels familiar. I feel like I know him.
