chapter 4

When Betty and I arrived at the gate, she promptly rang the doorbell. Suddenly, I was surprised to hear someone speak.

The voice on the other end of the telephone asked, "Who's that?"

wow! Even if an intercom is pricey, it is possible to get one, especially given the home's wealthy owner.

Betty responded, "Hello Lena, this is Betty, and my friend is here to apply for a maid."

That's correct, hold on a moment, and I'll open the gate for you, he repeated.

I was even more shocked when the gate suddenly opened on its own a little while later. While I am a wealthy child as well, not everyone around me is. Hello, this is Royal Villa.

, "Let's go!"

Betty and I entered the building together, but I felt at home on the farm and was awestruck by all I saw. The mansion that we are currently standing on is surrounded by a dense bermuda grass plant and is also filled with lovely and aromatic flowers. Terrible! A picnic here might be enjoyable.

In all honesty, I wanted to lose myself in the breathtaking scenery, but I restrained myself and instead chose to grin. A short while later, the mansion's front door opened simultaneously with an elderly woman of the same age as Mom leaving. Betty undoubtedly refers to her as Nanny Lena.

Hello Miss Lena, this is Alieson, my friend," Betty said.

She greeted me by saying, "Good morning and the same to you," and I smiled back at her.

I said, "Good morning to you too, Ma'am Lena."

She laughed and added, "It's okay, I'm not your employer here.

Miss Lena burst out laughing, and they both laughed, and I couldn't help but think of Mom. Now what is she doing? I wish her well.

"Why did Betty say that you intended to work here?"

"Yes, Miss Lena," I answered.

We're only looking for a new maid today because one of ours left yesterday; it's a good thing Betty recommended you to us.

Betty responded, "Miss Lena, that's correct because she was actually seeking for a job before sister Flor left.

Manang questioned, "You're good at what you do, aren't you?"

Ah... Since-"

Betty intervened, "Of course Miss Lena, everyone can anticipate that.

Reliable in any way? Betty is excellent at lying as well as interjecting.

If only you knew! Miss nodded and appeared to accept Betty's response. Perhaps we'll cross paths soon.

Come in and I'll show you what to do, I say.

I was left outside since I promised to say farewell to Betty before Miss Lena entered the mansion. I struck Betty in the shoulder as soon as Miss finally entered.

It's complaining, "ouch! Alieson, you know you've been here for a while!"

I exclaimed at her, "Why did you say that I can be relied on by everyone? Well, I just told you last night that I don't know how to cook!"

This Betty loses her memory so swiftly that hanging might be preferable.

I'll say it out loud: "Alieson, as if you'll be accepted if I say you can't cook."

I ask frankly, "Is that why you lied?"

She simply rubbed her head while appearing agitated. Dear Betty!

She shouted angrily, "Ali, just go inside and start working. Instead of thanking me, I received another blow. There you go!"

Betty, hurry back here, I yelled.

Betty simply continued walking without returning my glance. what a disposition!

I didn't anticipate my friend with the attitude returning to me, so I just made the decision to enter the mansion.

The interior of the mansion is more attractive than the exterior; the floor is likewise made of marble but is so shiny that you can't see it.

I can see the lovely living room, with its big gray sectional sofa and contemporary center table, from where I am standing right now. Along with a large flat-screen TV mounted on the wall, there was also lighting.

Now I can see the glass-encased curved staircase that leads up to it. Very opulent indeed, with glass staircases leading to the top. The mansion's inside is spacious, but he doesn't have much stuff and I can only see breakable and lovable bases on exhibit there.

Miss Lena laughed, "Ali, are you done looking inside?"

I said with a smile, "It's really incredible Miss, because this house is so spacious and lovely.

Just like me, Miss Lena grinned. Since my room will be there, she escorted me to the maids area, where I instantly straightened my clothes. The room is spacious, with a single bed, two pillows, and blankets, as well as cabinets that are just big enough to hold my clothing. includes a side table that I may use to set my watch on and a single sofa as well.

Once I had done organizing everything, I also put on the maid's uniform. Simple blue slacks and a full dress with side pockets make up the outfit. Because of the style of the dress and slacks I'm currently sporting, I feel like a nurse.

Alison, this is it! You are capable of completing this.

I was able to work efficiently for a week at the estate thanks to Miss Lena's good treatment of me and occasionally generous encouragement.

I was eating a snack in the dining room with Miss Lena because we had just completed cleaning this place, which was really exhausting.

I questioned, "Miss, aren't you finding it difficult to clean this mansion, it's so big that you're all by yourself."

The entire house, excluding the bedrooms, must be cleaned in one day due to the size of the mansion. Given the size of the mansion, there need to be ten maids, not three.

In addition to the two of us, there is another maid who recently took a holiday in their province and is now returning here, Miss Lena revealed. "I only clean occasionally, so it's not her," she said.

I simply nodded in agreement and carried on munching when my phone abruptly rang. Mom's number was on the caller ID, so I picked it up right away.

I'm glad phrase. "Mom, you were called. How are you?"

It replied on the other line, "I'm fine Alieson, how are you there?"

I recently gave Mom a hug from when she was close by since I miss her so much.

"Don't worry, I'm fine here."

I'm just saying hey, but come on, maybe you're doing something.

"Yes, Mom, just be careful there. I'll call you when I'm not doing anything."

I couldn't help but feel depressed as Mom hung up the phone. I would not have to work and be away from her if I had the money to locate my parents. I genuinely miss her. Hey!

She questioned abruptly, "Is she your parent?"

I shook my head dejectedly as I watched her.

She is not my mother; instead, she is the one who gets along with me and mentors me until I am an adult because my parents were preoccupied with the company at the time.

My mother used to be present at all of my events, including my birthday, graduation, and the last family day at school. It's just awful that my parents never once checked on my development. Then, suddenly, they vanished like a bubble.

You mentioned owning a business; are you wealthy; why are you working; and do your parents know?

Miss lLena continued to ask questions, but I simply shook my head in response to each one.

My parents were dependent on gambling until they were in debt, the bank took possession of our home, and the business my parents owned went bankrupt.

When I think back on what happened to me in the past, it makes me feel very heavy inside, so I took a big breath before continuing. Jessica is correct; I'm now poorer than they are, which is how I got here.

It's funny how they left me and never came back, which makes me wonder if they are concerned about my condition or if they put themselves first because the situation is too messy that they created it themselves. So now I'm working to help Mom and also to find my parents, who vanished when things got complicated.

I try to chuckle at my current condition, sh*t, even if it hurts! Truthfully, I felt sorry for myself since, if it weren't for Mom, I could still be lost on the road today.

"I believe that you can overcome it too if you have tenacity and determination. That's how life really is, full of challenges and troubles.

Despite the difficulties I am currently experiencing, I somehow feel soothed as a result of what he said, knowing that I have a new mother to turn to.

I finished our food and were about to begin cleaning the upstairs when the doorbell rang unexpectedly.

She remarked, "Oh! That's Lorie."

To open the door, he threw down the feather duster and broom he was holding. A man standing 5'8" tall and carrying a bag entered the room as Miss Lena fully opened the door. He was dressed in a white long sleeve shirt with three open buttons, making his handattractiveness clear.

He seemed even more exhausted because his long sleeve was hidden by his black pants and white footwear.

Based on the face, it appears like he is set to enter the acting world; his hair is trimmed in a two-block style, and he has a smooth, white face with brown eyes and long eyelashes. He appears handsome because of his tiny, crimson lips.

Why does this man's face look so familiar to me, I wonder?

I wish I could have picked you up at Pedring, but why didn't you call or text? Yaji, you're going home, Miss Lena remarked.

You just take care of my stuff, I have to go, I also came home unexpectedly because of the company," he added.

He just left Miss Lena with the suitcase he was carrying before leaving right away.

I went over to Miss Lena and offered to help her carry her bag.

I said, "I'll be there."

"It's me, I'll make sure these clothes are already washed. You go clean in the family room on the second floor first, and I'll just wash Yaji's clothes."

I took the dustpan, brush, and feather duster after nodding in accord with Miss Lena statement, then I begged upstairs.

The very large living room, or family room as they like to call it, was the first thing I noticed as I got to the second level. It has a glass center table with a giant flat screen TV that is also shaped like the chin and a glittering tiny luxury chandelier, as well as a four-seater L-shaped sofa in a blue color.

Should you spend this way when you're wealthy? There are errors at the top and the bottom, and no savings were made.

Even though everyone thought I was attractive, I stopped noticing it and instead merely cleaned as Mom instructed.

It took me an hour to finish cleaning, and by that time my hip and neck were both hurting. I made the decision to take a nap. When I started to get hot and sweaty, I just fanned myself with my palm until my focus was locked on a huge family photo hanging on the wall.

Perhaps this was Yaji's family in the past. His gorgeous Mommy is very sophisticated to look at, his Daddy handsome is plainly where he inherited from because they look alike, and it's certain that his sister is the girl sitting next to him.

I couldn't help but think of my Mom and Dad as I gazed at their family portrait. Even though I'm an adult, we still don't have a family photo, and while I was reflecting on this, tears began to flow. They are sorely missed, and I sincerely hope that they are doing well wherever they are right now.

I had a half bath early in the evening because I was feeling sleepy. I need to go to bed because I'm so exhausted today. I eventually closed my eyes as I was lying peacefully on my bed.

***

When I woke up, everything was black. Did Miss Lena forget to put on the light on the veranda?

The question "daughter? Alison?"

I am familiar with that voice! I went out of bed to find the source of the voice, but as I was leaving, I noticed a familiar statue in front of me.

I was unable to speak, and I couldn't stop crying. Now, as I began to cry, I couldn't help but hug the woman in front of me.

I cried out, "Mommy!"

"My princess, oh nameodness"

When I let go of the hug, Mommy just smiled and used her hands to dab away my tears.

You don't have to do this, daughter, go home to Nena and don't look for us any longer, Mommy said. "Alieson, I know the reason why you are working right now," she said.

"Mommy, I don't need to look for you anymore because you are already here. Thank you, and God heard my prayer, you brought me back."

I find it difficult to express how happy I am that my parents have arrived and that my family will now once again be whole. Regards, G.

I repeatedly questioned, "Where's Daddy? Are you going to pick me up? Are we going home?"

Mom just kept grinning as she tucked a hair strand behind my ear and continued to look at me.

Mommy smiled and said, "Son, go home to Nena. Don't neglect yourself and always remember that your Daddy and I love you very much, I'm leaving."

Mommy's actions suddenly bewildered me, so I assume she is now on her way to pick me up. But why is he saying this? So that our family can be complete once more.

I screamed, "Where are you going? You're not taking me with you? I thought you were here to pick me up!"

Mommy's words caused my earlier tears to start flowing once more as I wondered whether they would leave me once more.

The words, "baby, we can't take you with your Daddy. Go home to Nena, I love you so much."

My mother gave me a deep hug before leaving, leaving only darkness in her wake.

I cried out, "Mommy? Mommy? Don't leave me."

"Hey, get up!"

"Mommy!"

When I unexpectedly received a warm hug, I didn't even get out of bed; instead, I returned the hold while still crying.

I'm terrified, Mom. Please don't go away.
