CHAPTER 09 | Hold-up |

The speed of the month passed, it seems like only yesterday when school started, but right now we just finished our first periodical exam.

Fortunately, the seat arrangements moved us again so Lian and Mae were next to me again. I was in the middle of them both.

The same scenarios are what happened last month,

the only difference is I'm even more in-is-nob, Prine! I don’t know, I get restless everytime I see him. As far as I remember I didn’t do anything to him, so I can’t really be bothered that he didn’t notice me.

I know we're not friends, but I danced with him before my debut, and he also saved me from bullying before! Isn't that enough reason that if we meet he can look at me?

But nothing really, I'm just like air to him.

"Okay guys, now we're going to vote on what we're going to rock for this language month's pageant." I listened to our Filipino teacher when she said an announcement. As soon as the surroundings became noisy, I also looked around and looked for possible prospects.

"Yes, ma'am Margareth!" My one classmate suggested until almost all the girls in the class were to call them. There is nothing as wasteful in our classroom.

"Si, Anya! Ay hindi si, Serene!" I immediately winced when I heard my name.

"Oh, yes ma'am it's just Serene!" My eyes immediately widened and I immediately shook his head.

"I don't want to," I whispered more.

"It's just you Serene! If you're a stoner, you're sure to win, isn't the owner your relative?"

"Raven!" Lian threw a paper at Raven. I smiled sparingly, it offended me a little.

"Just a joke Serene ah!"

"Neither does, Rose so don't be pushy." Seriously, Mae.

"Oh, it's just Mara!"

I don't want to join because first of all, I will be the target of temptation again. Everyone will expect from me, winning is stupid, winning has a connection.

I lowered my hand so that I could no longer see Mae's car. Earlier, Lian and I left alone in the parking lot. I already texted Edy, my driver. He said that he was on his way but that was his last text in ten minutes.

I sniffed and looked at the phone again. Manong Edy still doesn't have a text. I was about to text when suddenly someone pulled my arm!

To my surprise I didn't move immediately, it was really fast! In an instant, my face was pressed against a man's chest.

I finally heard the horn of a raging motor bike. My knees shook when I realized that I was about to be hit by that motor bike!

I was still gasping when the man pushed me away from him. My eyes widened as I corrected that suspicion of him. I knew right away from her scent.

I don't have, but my heart beats faster now that I'm in front of him than what happened earlier. His presence can really make my breath hitch!

"P-prine," I called him in shock. I still can’t move on from what happened and what he did.

"The next time you're doomed, what can I not see ?! Kaasar!" He shook his uniform then passed me, his gaze on me could not escape my sight.

My jaw drop, I was left speechless again. I still can't believe what's going on.

"I'm sorry ma'am Serene, it looks like there's a problem with the tire so I'm just slowing down." Said manong when he arrived.

"Is that so? Isn't that dangerous?" I asked worriedly.

"Not really ma'am, let's just slow down." Manong scratched his head. Though skeptical I still rode.

It's just that we hadn't gone far from school when the car suddenly shook. Manong came down and looked at our tire. I saw him scratch his head and shake. He seemed like problematic so I got out of the car as well.

"What's the problem?"

"Flat tires ma'am," I was immediately depressed at what I heard. It seems like it will take me a while to get home, I still need some e-research.

"It's already on board! It's about to leave!" I looked at the man calling the passenger for the jeep, I don’t know what to call them. Is it passenger caller or what?

"Hop on!"

"I'll just call another driver ma'am." I immediately shook my head, I think of doing something. I opened the car's door and get my stuffs

"Please don't co-commute me anymore." I was excited to say, I saw this as an opportunity for an adventure. I have never commuted before so now I will try. I’m so excited!

"Hala! I can't do that, ma'am, I can be scolded!" He tried to stop me, but I was determined.

"Don't worry manong my parents won't know about this." I assured him, I'm sure that when I come home they don't have mommy yet so they won't catch me.

I always saw this in Philippine movies or dramas, the struggle of commuting and riding a jeep excites me! This is a new experience for me, I don't know but I didn't feel scared even for the first time.

When I asked the passenger caller or what to call him they would go through the gate of our subdivision. I still had to walk inside the subdivision to get home, but it was okay.

When I was able to sit in the jeep I immediately looked around, its exteriors were green. I saw some steel up there so I sang my hand there like I was watching. I just smiled with my own excitement!

There were also students from Love Academy on board, there was an ale that was obviously from the market because of the vegetables it brought. I saw a man at the far end of the jeep, he was also from Love Academy because of his uniform but I couldn't see his face because he was covered and his bag was covering his head.

Others maybe recognized me so they looked at me.

When the jeep was full we started to walk. I enjoy not until ...

"Hold-up it's motionless!" My eyes immediately widened! When I looked at the driver, his accomplice holding a gun was next to him.

Everyone was screaming, even I was screaming because I saw a gun! There are two of them, one is in the front riding the other is here in the back.

I tightened my grip on the bag, my companions began to cry, even I was already crying. It was my first time riding here and I didn’t think I would experience it right away.

My heart was beating so fast, I tightened the grip on my bag even though my hands were weakening. I even closed my eyes tightly when the gun pointed at me!

"Nothing will move!" The armed mans voice thundered. If I only knew I was doomed, I wouldn't have gone on an adventure!

You're dead meat Rose!

"Give me your wallet!" The gun pointed at me again so I was able to sit up, my hair was standing on end!

I can’t use the little self defense I know of here especially since they’re armed and they’re two more!

My cheek is getting hot because it is uncontiously staring at me with a careless holdaper.

I kept sobbing in fear, my tears immediately rolled down my cheeks. My crying got even louder when I thought that the holdaper might accidentally pull the trigger if that happens I'm sure I'm dead! I will be the first to be hit by it.

"Don't stop driving!" The other guy who's seated on the front seat shouted. The driver focuses on it.

"Your wallet is mine!" The man near us shouted, he grabbed my fellow student's wallet.

I, on the other hand, slowly snatched the purse from the bag, I don't care about money right now so if I give everything in my purse.

But my phone, I need it. Here are all my contacts and pictures with the girls.

"You're your purse!" I almost shouted when I turned it around. My heart almost jumps, I guess if I have a heart illness I have already attacked here.

I slowly reached for my wallet, and he angrily grabbed it from me.

I never thought in this situation I would be able to see! I glanced at him twice more because I didn't think I would see him here.

My lips parted, I don't know but I feel like the tightness I feel in my chest slowly subsides when our eyes meet.

Prine's forehead was furrowed, looking at me. His dark and intense gaze is like questioning me what the hell am I doing here!

"Your bracelet! Take it off." Stunned I took off the bracelet I was wearing, I received that brecelete as a gift for my birthday. It cost thousands but I don't have the price anymore.

"Bro hurry up! There's a checkpoint nearby!" I saw hope when the other holdaper shouted that.

My weeping companions also gave up their belongings.

"Hurry up! You're your purse quickly! Your necklace is mine!" I touched the trembling knee.

"Hurry up bro! We're close to the check point so we should get off."

"Wait a minute, I'll get more! Don't move, he said!"

"Hurry up, that's enough!"

"Wait a minute! Hey you're your cellphone!" They are already arguing two holdapers.

"Give me that bag!"

My eyes widened, I was the one he desecrated again!

I immediately hugged the bag because I didn’t want to give it away.

"Oh you're young!" He was right to approach me, but before he could do that I was surprised when, Prine suddenly stood up and punched the holdaper!

H-he punched the holdaper!

Prine's punch to the holdaper was correct when the driver stepped on the brake. Since I couldn’t hold the steel at the height, I almost flew forward with the force of the brakes. Also, Prine flew away too! He actually lay down in the middle because he was standing when the driver approached!

I was caught in my head as it collided with the head of the person next to me. I closed my eyes because I felt my brain shake.

Before I could open my eyes I felt a soft hand holding me. I immediately regained consciousness and my eyes immediately widened.

Prine suddenly pulled my arms!
