CHAPTER 02

*Dance*

"You're so beautiful," Mae complemented me while we're dacing for the 18th candle.

"Thank you, thank you for coming." I said shyly.

I'm right in my suspicion that there are a lot of visitors, I'm still nervous because I don't know what will happen next. My parents didn't allow me to mingle in preparation for my debut, they all arranged. I only practiced dancing with my cousin, Drake, who happens to be my escort for this day.

I owned the spotlight that makes me feel so nervous.

"Chilax girl! Breath." Mae said, it looks like she noticed my nervousness or she felt the coldness of my hands.

"Thanks," was all that came out of my mouth. "I don't know what will happen next."

Maybe today my parents will announce my engagement to who knows who it is. Which hopefully, hopefully doesn’t happen.

This is the main reason why I'm not happy for this day. Cause instead of freedom I will be more jailed by their power against me.

Debut means legalty, legalty for marriage. Fixing my marriage.

Of course I'm against of that stupid engagement! But what can I do? I'm just a daughter who depends on them.

I'm too weak to fight with my parents.

"Just enjoy your day, don't think too much." She genuinely smiled at me. "Happy birthday, I'm ashamed of my gift to someone who gave it to someone who was stingy because it was older brother Mike." I laughed at what, Mae said.

"What are you! It doesn't matter, even if it's not okay. You're presence is more than enough." I told her.

"Aww that's common sense." He hugged me before passing it to, Lian for me to dance next.

She gave me first the pink scented candle with white ribbon on it, before hugging me.

"Happy birthday," she greeted and then we started dancing.

National line for today. "Thank you." I smiled at her genuinely.

"The pretentiousness of your debut bhei!" He whispered to me.

"What would you expect with my parents." I boredly said but still maintaining the smile on my face, camera's are all over.

From the chandeliers down to the floors it's extravagant. I'm like a princess crowned as a queen in a super beautiful venue. There is no need to shout the price because it is obvious that everything, from my clothes, to the designs, food and drink are all expensive. Somehow I felt guilty for those children who couldn’t even eat three times a day.

"Sabagay, it's your wealth. You're one of the luckiest girls in the world." She said, I just smiled at Lian her beautiful long pink gown is so good at her it hugs her body perfectly.

If they see it as a luck? Then I see it as curse.

I danced with a few more girls, my cousins, and mother.

When I was 18 roses, dad was my first dance. Pink is the theme so pink is also the rose which is my favorite.

"Time travel fast." Serious promise, daddy.

"Yeah, I can't believe it dad."

"You're growing, a few more years maybe you won't live in my powder." He still said seriously.

Something in my chest hurts when he said that. I feel like he's giving me away.

"I will always come to you, don't worry." That's the only thing I'm sure of.

I reprimanded my male cousins, some are friends and I don't know others, maybe one of dad's son's business partners or friends. I don't know.

"Thanks Jayp!" I said goodbye to my sixteenth cousin when I danced with roses.

My feet hurt a bit and I need it.

But I was surprised to see who is my 17th dance. It's him! The one who picked up my phone in the waiting area, 'yung masungit.

He gave me the pink rose with white ribbon on it. It was so awkward! I suddenly feel unease especially when he put his hand on my waist. I swallowed first before slowly placing my hand on his arm so we could start dancing.

It was really, really awkward! We slowly swayed to the music, I can feel his gentle touch in my waist, his hand was so light.

I couldn't look at him, and I don't know why? The insides of me battled up in the end I chose to look at him. He's taller than me, until he's just below my forehead, I still have to look up just to see his face, what if I don't have heels?

He's handsome, he's fair his eyes are cold and deep but chinky, he has thick eyelashes, his eyebrows are not that thick but looks good on him, he has pointed nose and a cherry like lips, his hair is not that long but it's perfect for him.

I immediately averted my eyes when he returned my gaze. Of all the ones I danced with tonight, to him I was most awkward.

"Ahm, thank you so much for bringing my phone back earlier to the waiting area." I said trying to build a conversation.

"It doesn't matter." He coldly said as if he was immediately interrupting my conversation with him. Confirm he's really rude. "Happy birthday." He said then leave me to escort my 18th dance, Drake.

When I started eating, I looked like a princess sitting on my throne at the top of the stage in front of all my guests. The orchestras filled our ears with their beautiful musics, while we're eating.

They also started giving me messages including Mae and Lian, they all wish me a happy life.

My heart beat so damn fast when mom and dad were called to speak. I'm not sure yet but I'm nervous. Please don't let them announce my engagement.

It's too early and I'm not ready, or I will never be ready. Besides, I haven't even met my who knows fiance yet. Well I don't care about that.

"Good evening, everyone! Thank you so much for gathering tonight." Foreword by, daddy mommy is just next to him, clinging to, dad's arm.

"This day, is a very special day for us, cause it's the day that our only princess was born. My daughter Rona Serene." I smiled when dad turned to me.

"I don't have much anything to say, I'm grateful for she grow as a beautiful, talented, smart, sweet, and a kind girl. She deserves to be the heiress of what we have. Norriente's Construction Materials Company, this is your future. " Dad's words are so powerful that it sent shiver down my spine. I know someday I will run the company, and it's really a hard thing to do, I have a lot of people to think about.

"Thank you so much again for coming, maybe my son's next engagement will be my next announcement." Dad laughed like it's just a funny joke, as people joined in his laughter. Me? I can't laugh.

I was immediately nervous at what he said, goodness!

Fortunately, daddy said nothing more. I was breathing a bit loosely and at least delayed right?

The night goes on, and became successful. Everything's fine.
