Chapter 5

Arjun's pov

"What are we going to do now guys?" I asked these idiots who were sitting on the dining table at my home with cups of hot coffee in their hands in an attempt to remove the headache which we had because of the all nighters that we had pulled up planning to make sure that the Girls would talk to us again.

"Even I don't know ... I just hope that Abha would come for the engagement, I love her lot." said Vihan, his voice that of like those typical love sick puppies.

“This is all Kabeer's fault, I had told you guys that I would come with my parents and meet them but no he had to tease the girls and have some fun .... See where we have landed now." I said throwing my hand in defeat.

God, I didn't knew that the girls had so much power in them that they would make us so much vulnerable.

Thinking about this I got an idea.

"Guys I have an idea.... When I was in college one of my friend Max had told me that if we would run behind the girls ... they would run far away from us, but if we run away from them they would come running towards us ...."I said

"So what do you mean to say?" vihan asked.

"What I mean to say is if they are giving us a cold shoulder let us also ignore them, they will automatically come to us." I said ginning and mentally patting my back as well as Max's .

It seemed to be a great idea, though I somehow missed them, but if I was going to get them for a life time basis than a bit of distance was something I was ready to endure.

Everyone seemed to like the idea as well and agreed. As most of the day had gone by sulking around my place, we decided to go to Abha's place and soon we were on the way to the Grewal mansion. When we reached there the sight was mesmerizing, it had been such a long time that I had attended an Indian wedding.

We all went inside and greeted the elders and soon were handed over the respective works that had to be done.

"Vihan, it’s been an hour now none of us has seen any of the girls? How are we really going to work with the plan?" Raghav said. And though my spirits were high and mighty, as the time was tickling by it was really concerning, that none of the girls could be seen in the house, and God knows where they were and what was really going to happen.

"We'll see I need to go and ask Aunt if she knows where they are." I said to them and started walking towards my Aunt/Abha's Mom .

Abha's mom is like a sister to my father, as she didn't had any brother when our parents had met because of us they all had become really good friends, then once when Abha's younger sister was born my dad had done the rituals that a mama has to do and since then she had become my bua and in a way Abha had become my sister, but we would always introduce ourselves as friends we had treasured that relation.

"Aunty where is Abha and the other girls ?" I asked her hugging her from back. To which first she freed herself from my iron grip and then said "They all were very angry with you guys, and I know why are you here I am not going to help you out with it any more, how old are you 5?" and she went into her room to keep her clothes which were there in her hand.

And guess what, as she predicted my age , like a five year even I walked behind her and said Aunty please let us know, last time It won’t happen again please."

To which she smiled and said " they all missed you so much you shouldn't have done that, Arohi told me what you did, it wasn't good, well I wish I could tell you where they are but even I don't know where they have gone, but they said that they will be reaching at the hall directly and at what time that I don't know so don't ask me, now get aside I have got whole lot of work to do."

With that she went back to work, leaving me and my friends to sulk around and wait for the evening to come.

"Arjun dude she will come right?" Vihan asked the 100th time that evening and for the 100th time I gave him a shut the fuck up man look and said

"If you ask the same question again I swear I will cancel the engagement , and you know I can do that ." hearing this he kept quiet and we then went down , it was 6 pm and the function was going to start at 7 so still one hour had left that means the girls would be coming any minute.

Well and about my plan we were still sticking up with it, how I would let this chance slip out of my hand. I took a deep breath and turned towards vihan and warned him "You are going to ignore her till the time she doesn't come and talk to you, am I clear?" he just nodded his head and then we walked down.

“Now I am sure she is not going to come, kabeer you are so dead." Vihan said, giving kabeer a murderous glare. In fact along with kabeer now even I am tensed as none of us know where all of them had gone and just 5 minutes are left for the ceremony to begin any moment the Pandit would call the bride, but guess what the bride is nowhere to be seen, and most irritating thing is that there cell phones are switched off and our parents are quite relaxed with this situation.

Well it had always been like this, if we guys would go out then our parents would start panicking. But when it would be the girls they would be relaxed and when we would say it should be the other way round then would say that they know that their daughters are safe when they go out, but when you guys go out it is about the other human beings and their lives that we are afraid of, that we would get drunk and drive or would become angry young men.

Well who are to be blamed for this other than us, during our high school days we boys did that, almost killed a man due to drink and drive and had gotten ourselves into fight with the bus conductor while coming home from school.

Yeah we did that and actually when we think about it now it was the worst things that we did, but what can we do we were damn teenagers.

"Please call the Bride" the pandit said making vihan and us panic, but soon the whole gathering fell silent as a car came and stood in front of the gate, Arohi's and my brothers went to open the cars door and when the people stood in front of us. I tell you that very instant the plan of ignoring had almost gone out of our mind, but when the door for the person who drove the car opened and he came out I can say, the plan went out of our minds completely as we all started walking towards the gate.

Ohh well the arrival was of none other than the pretty girls of our life who made our childhood and teenage hood most interesting to live.

"Hi," we said in unison but what we got in respond was unbelievable.

Abha, took hold of Arohi's brother's hand, completely ignoring Vihan's hand and walked in as the rest of the girls did the same.

I waited there as Arohi had still not come inside and was talking to the unwanted person animatedly, I walked towards them and cleared my throat and got there undivided attention. Soon the unwanted guest came to me and hugged me saying "Arjun? Oh my God when did you come? Long time no?"

Detangling myself from him I smiled and said, "hello to you to Vivek , I just came last night, nice to meet you here."

Vivek Oberoi, one of the person I despised the most, unknowingly he had been one of the biggest challenge for me in the school and now in the business. But what irritated the most was that he had always flirted with Arohi and once she had told me that she did liked him, and the way they talked always made me irritated.

"I guess we should go inside." I said taking Arohi's hand and started walking towards the entrance.

"Leave me, what the hell Arjun what’s wrong with you ?" Arohi snapped as soon as we were a bit farther from the Oberoi.

"It should be me asking you this, what the hell Arohi, what’s wrong with you, where were you the whole day, don’t tell me you were with that stupid oberoi" I said, and as the possibility of the two being together settled in more, the anger within me began to develop even more making me clench my teeth.

"Leave my hand, the ones who need to know where I was knew that and Vivek just came to pick us up so that we could come here." she said with equal anger in her voice as mine.

"You could have called me, I would have came to pick you up " I said taking deep breath and left her hand but it seemed a wrong idea, as she took a step back, laughed a bitter laugh and said "yeah so that we could reach here after 7 years and make vihaan wait for that long as well as we ourselves keep waiting for you, well thanks but no thanks Arjun, we are quite well without your generous help." with that she walked inside leaving a stunned me behind .

That’s when I realized I really did a very big mistake by leaving without any prior notice, and dug a hole for my death by not returning for such a long time. I have really lost my friends, but I knew that they won’t be able to leave away from me, I won’t let them go, nor am I going to leave them again.

I promise you Arohi that it would be you who would come to me and hug me saying sorry to me, I promise, I would irritate you so much that you will have to forgive me, I know you too much for your bad and mine good, wait for what comes to you next Aruuu baby .

Though a devilish plan was forming in my mind, I didn't know that a whole lot of problems were going to come my way within few minutes
