Chapter 12

Arohi's pov

"Dr. Ridhima, make sure that the fresh reports of the patient no.225 will be on my table by noon and I want a report of the weekend and also a final report for the patient whom we attended last week. Am I clear?" I said

"Yes ma’am.”

"Okay then, get back to work."

As usual a Monday morning and I was back on my duty, assigning work to the interns. It feels good to be back at work to save some life and to see the smiling faces of the people who get to know the good response about their loved ones.

I was walking through the corridors when I saw the children ward and decided that it was time to pay a visit to the little ones. but soon stopped from going there as Abha had told me that she wanted to give them a surprise, and I know if I go there right now they will dig in everything and will not let me go till the time I don't spill out the whole story .

Hence it was safe not to go there, and with that decision made I went to the general ward to check other patients.

"Dr. Arohi may I come in?" I heard a voice asking me, I looked up from my file only to meet the only person whom I admire the most.

"Ohh Mr. Shah please come in, and let me guess you are here all alone again." I said while faking anger.

"You know doctor now's not the time, jab akhree baar yaha ane ki jarurat hogi Na tab pakka pure parivar ke sath aaunga." He joked.

"Mr. Shah, how many times do I have to tell you that take your medicines on time, have proper food and spend your time with your family, you will recover soon."

I tried to explain the same thing again and again but all in vain.

You see Mr. Shah has this rare heart disease, which is quite difficult to understand at the starting stage. But luckily, he was aware of the symptoms and was right and his treatment began soon. But now the only thing that is coming in between his treatment is his carefree nature.

He is so lenient about this that it scares as well and leaves me shocked that how can a person be so happy even though he knows that he is about to die.

I shook my head and did his check up and changed some of his medicines. But I was happy as there was scope, he was responding to the treatment, and now only one thing is needed and that is to convince him to involve his family into this process.

Because the care and love which his family will give him will be stronger and effective for his treatment than my medicines and I was sure about that.

"See you next week Mr. Shah and please tell your family, you have hope. It's better to tell them now because if you don't and if they come to know when you will be on your deathbed, believe me they will curse themselves and I am sure you won't want that. Think about it uncle, I am telling you this as someone's daughter and not at all as your doctor."

"I will think about it my child and may god bless you." he said resting his hand on my head and blessing me.

Once he went I got back to my work, checking all the reports and files, losing the track of time.

"See I told you that she would be still working." I heard a very familiar voice and when I looked up it was indeed my friends, but with an addition.

ARJUN SINGH.

"What is he doing here? It was a girl’s outing as much as I remember." I said completely ignoring that person.

"Hello to you to Dr. Arohi." Arjun said.

I ignored him and began to sign the last file for the time being while saying "I have to check up the children's ward and then we will go for lunch."

"Oh that's great even if I want to meet everyone." Abha chirped.

You see girls had always been here many times and would spend time with the kids, and the kids also adored the more.

"You have a nice office here Arohi." Arjun said. I knew what he was trying to do and I completely ignored him.

"Did we miss anything here?" the girls asked.

"Don't we have to go for lunch and I have a lot of work, god knows why humans are here at witches place." I taunted.

Yep this was all about the last night thing. How did he even think that I would forgive him just like that he will have to work his ass off.

I was taking my stethoscope when there was a loud knock on the door.

"Come in" I replied and looked up to see it was Neel.

"Ohh hey girls, and Arjun." He greeted everyone, but I could see his confusion when he saw only Arjun standing there, and none of the boys were available.

"Hey sup." Misha asked.

"Duty calls. Umm Arohi I wanted you to study this case, it's kind of important, when can we discuss this?" he asked.

"Uuhh right now I am going for my round to the children's ward and then for lunch, I'll be back here after two hours. So I'll come to your cabin as soon as I'm back in sanjeevani." I said while I gathered my pen and my purse from the table.

"Ohh okay, see then; and yeah please tell Shivank that I will be coming to check him again after half a hour.” he said and walked out of the cabin.

"Let's go?" I said to the girls completely ignoring the person who was continually looking, rather staring at me.

"Girls could you please give us a minute?" Arjun asked, but before I could even say anything the girls walked out of the cabin.

See what I said about having the worst friends in the world.

I took a deep breath and started walking towards the door only to be stopped by that 6 footed person, god his height.

"So this cute little wit-" before he could complete his statement I glared at him.

"Ohh so this cute little witch is angry with me." He teased while coming closer to me resulting in me to take a step back. I didn't reply to him and kept looking here and there as if my cabin was way more interesting than him.

"Someone had once told me that I am way too cute and drool worthy." he said, while coming towards me and I kept on going back until I was trapped between the table and him.

People say that at this time we feel butterflies in our stomach and have a giddy feeling, but trust me right now that was not the only thing which I felt, secured, loved and happy were also the feelings which I was feeling.

I glared at him and said "Arjun get a side I have patients to check."

But whom was I kidding he kept looking at me , with his infamous smirk and soon enough he leaned towards me so close ... so close that I could feel his minty breath on my face , unknowingly I closed my eyes and god know what I was waiting for .

"Not before you forgive me." He said

I quickly opened my eyes and said "no, not at all."

Unknowingly I looked into his eyes and was soon lost into their depth. His eyes spoke so many things, the confidence that he knows what could make me melt and god knows what all.

We were brought out of..... God knows what when I heard a loud ringing of someone's phone, it was Arjun's phone which was ringing. He answered it while I tried to calm down the fastest heartbeat of the eternity.

"I need to go now but we'll continue later on at dinner, bye and take care. And yeah stay away from that Neel "he said rather warned and what he did next for sure I would have got a heart attack if I had been that week

He freaking kissed me on my cheek.

And went out to god knows where.

I know it is not a big thing but yeah it was for me, and it still is in India. We still are coping from the fact of saying Hi and bye by giving a hug, and now this kiss.

And it didn't help at all as he was my only.....

I was brought out of my thoughts by my phone ringing.

I took it out of my coat pocket and saw it was Nitya. I answered the phone.

"He- he – hello " I was not even able to say properly. If my breathing was harsh when he was so close to me then right now I can't even say what its speed was.

"Hey what's up don't tell me you are doing the deed over there in your cabin."Nitya said. And that's when I knew that answering her phone was one of the worst decisions.

"Shut up, and I am coming to the children's ward, so shut up and please don't cause any problems for me." I said and walked towards the children's ward still thinking about the KISS.

"Why are you all red Arohi didi?" I looked down to see the cute bundle of joy munni standing with her doll in her hand.

"Did I hear someone being red... ohh yeah Arohi why are you blushing?" Abha asked, gaining the undivided attention of all the girls.

That's when I realized that I was really blushing that too furiously. So to save my ass I replied

"Ohh it’s nothing you could say that Arjun just suffocated me to death." I shrugged and walked towards the kids to check them. And thank god for now the girls let the topic drop.

Soon we went for lunch and discussed the plans for the weekends, and it was decided that from this Friday night we will be staying at Abha's place. We were all happy and excited. We also made plans for shopping and this time we had to include the boys as well. We didn't even ask them about their availability but then that was their punishment for calling us witches.

I was done with my work and my duty had also ended so I took a quick round and was about to exit my cabin with my stuff and went to Arjun's place.

"Hahaha I remember how this stupid Grewal used to run away from Sheela when she wanted to go for shopping." I heard Arjun's dad saying it when I entered the house. Everyone was talking and enjoying themselves. Everyone was there except for him. I shook my head and entered the house.

"Hello everyone." I said with a big smile.

"Hello dear, you came early today." My dad said, looking a bit shocked.

"Yeah, we were supposed to come here so I thought I would come back early."

"Kavya, we are all going to come to your house daily for dinner. If this girl comes home early like this then I would love to come daily if you want I will come and cook." My dad said making everyone laugh.

It wasn’t his fault... My duty was something which made me stay away from my dad for the most of the time.

Our life is so weird, when we are kids our parents are not available for us and when they are we aren’t available for them.

Someone has said right... For the one whom I love, time doesn't visit me... It’s me who visits them for my love.

"Dad please and where are the girls?" I asked while I placed my coat and bag on a table. For sure I was exhausted yet the thought of spending that time with my friends boosted my energy.

"They all are in the kitchen and they said they will cook today." kavya aunty said.

"Ohh that's great, I'll go and help them then." I said and walked towards the kitchen.

"Hey girls”

"Hey you are early. We didn't know that you were so eager to meet him." Abha said while wiggling her eyebrows.

I rolled my eyes and took out a vessel big enough to knead the dough. Everyone had their share of work.

We would laugh, gossip and even tease each other with our long time crushes.

“I will go and see if the guys are here." Abha said and walked off.

And as if to be and get consumed in our work there was a silence a peaceful silence.

"God my hair, someone please tie it for me." I said while it became quite difficult to work with my hair falling on my face and me trying to continue to knead the dough.

"At your service ma'am" I heard the same voice and stood there rooted. His long fingers brushed deliciously on my collar bone, while He gathered my hair together and then was twisting and turning it which was hurting a lot as it brought me back to reality.

"Ahhh Arjun what are you doing?" I cried. I wanted to feel him on me, but the pain in my roots was quite heavy for me to bear it.

"ummm I don't know how I should tie your hair." He said

"Arjun, just roll it first and then make a circle with it on my head and then put the end of the hair under the circle."

He did as directed and then my hair was done. When I turned around I found that no one was there in the kitchen except for us.

'Where are the girls?”

"They just went outside to ask mom." He said while smirking.

"So you are not angry anymore with me?”

"um – that –um no uhh I mean..." I couldn't say anything; I mean how I could say anything he was standing so close to me. I shook my head and then spoke.

"Yes I am angry with you so now get lost from here."

"now now Arohi that's not gonna happen” with that he applied flour to my cheeks.

"hawww Arjun you ...You”

"What Arohi I am still here."

I knew that if I kept talking to him nothing was going to happen so I did the best thing. I turned around and started kneading the dough thinking it was Arjun. I was sure the way I was kneading it would have made him restless.

"Okay okay I am sorry please don't do that." he said

The look on his face made me laugh and with that we soon started talking on different things until the girls came in.

Soon the dinner was set and we were about to start eating the food when the doorbell rang. Abha quickly sprinted towards the door as if the world's biggest thing was there on the other side of the door.

"I swear if we were not engaged I would have thought that it was the person whom she loved more than me." Vihaan said

"Shut up Vihaan" I said and looked towards the door.

When the door opened we all were shocked to see the person standing over there.

"ohh my God Angela." I screamed and we all girls ran towards her and attacked her.

"Girls let me breath." She said and we all backed off.

So everyone here's Angela Stewart, Abha's second cousin. Abha's aunt married an American whom she met in New york when she went there for further studies.

"Hello everyone." She greeted everyone and walked towards the dining table.

Abha's mom and dad hugged her and then asked "what a pleasant surprise, but how did you come here all of a sudden."

"Okay everyone, you all wanted to know who will be organizing our wedding, then let me introduce to the world's best wedding planner and also my cousin sister Angela Stewart." Abha said.

Everyone was very happy and then we walked towards the dining table and sat to have our food.

"Anglia?" We heard Arjun's voice from the kitchen door, who had gone to the kitchen to get some food extra spoons.

"Arjun, what a pleasant surprise. What are you doing here?" Angela asked.

"That's what I should ask you, what you are doing here?" he asked

"Well I am here to plan my cousin's wedding."

Still Arjun was confused hence kavya aunty cleared his confusion and we had our dinner.

But what made me confused was how these two did know each other and why all of a sudden he became a completely different person.

"So what have you girls decided?" my dad asked all of a sudden.

"about what baba?"

"These girls, Arohi about your plan you girls were going to spend the weekends till Abha’s wedding at Abha's house right?" my mom asked as if we are the world's most dumb person.

"Ohh yeah, we'll be starting it from this weekend and boys we are going shopping tomorrow , firstly for Navratri and Diwali and if we would get some time we will go for the wedding shopping as well, so be ready tomorrow by 9 sharp." We said and when I looked up from our ice-creams we could see the most confused and shocked faces.

"I can't come; have a meeting with the board members." Arjun said

"I have to complete some important files." Dev said.

"I have to go to sign the contract." Raghav said.

"I have to go on a date." kabeer said which we ignored.

"And even I can't come; I have a very important meeting with the Chinese." Vihaan said.

"Okay never mind no one is interested to come with us, mom dad, uncle aunty the wedding is off." With that Abha stood up and started walking.

And guess what we would be doing.....

Well we all were laughing our ass off looking at the most wonderful expression on our friend Vihan's face, which soon recovered from his shock and ran after Abha.

"god my son is whipped, listen to me sons if you want to leave your life properly then don't you ever get married and if you ever do then don't you say no to your wife or girlfriend or fiancé for shopping." With that Vihan's dad stood up and started walking towards his room as a very furious aunty followed him.

God saved both father and son.
