Chapter 11

Arohi's pov

"Ohh please Neel it's not like you don't have work to do , kaka you know last week he snapped at an intern; poor girl she was afraid to come back to hospital. The people at hospital say 'when Dr. Neel goes mad he growls like a dog.'" I said and we all started laughing, whereas Neel was making weird noises.

"See he is doing it right now as well." I said pointing towards him but instead of saying anything he stomped away to God knows where. ohh well let me introduce you to this idiot, he is not among my school friends in fact he existed in my childhood, this fact I didn't even know till I completed my medical and joined sanjeevani, where we met again . He is my dad's childhood friend's son, and our parents; they were more than happy to know that we were friends as well.

I turned around to go and meet my friends but saw that Arjun was walking towards me furiously but was stopped by Vihaan who said something to him which made him calm down a bit ; but could not stop him from stomping away to somewhere.

I walked towards Vihan who was murmuring something.

"What happened to him?" I asked.

"Nothing I guess he has got periods." Vihaan tried to joke but as usual his jokes were worse.

"Vihan I am sure you can do a lot better." We laughed and walked towards the cold drink counter to get cold drinks for me and then to the bar so that he could get him a drink.

"So, did he like it?" I asked after debating a lot whether I should ask him or not.

"Yeah he did, but why Dr. Arohi is so anxious to ask this question, am I missing something Miss?" he asked

"No you idiot, I didn't have time to talk to him that's why I asked you." I replied and when he bought it I left the breath which I didn't know that I was holding.

"Eeew kabeer leave me alone ... morons go and that chick is waiting for you." we heard Rhea and kabeer bickering as usual.

"These idiots won’t behave ever." I said as me and Vihaan started laughing yet again.

We were busy laughing listening to them bicker when we heard a sudden commotion at the entrance, and when we looked properly it was the reporters.

"Come on lets go I am sure they are here for Arjun and you people." I said sarcasm was highly evident in my voice. You see I was never the fan of these reporters and paparazzi.

"Come on they are not that bad." Vihaan said smiling, he knows very well how much I hate them .

"Yeah they are very sweet so much that they really have stupid brains to ask a new intern how does she feel when she lost her first patient. "I said, rolling my eyes and walking towards my parents and friends who were already searching for me.

It is true, when I had lost my first patient in an operation being the daughter of a successful business man they kept tabs on my life as well. They had gathered outside my hospital and had questioned me "Dr. Arohi Kadam how do you feel now that you have lost your first patient ."

Thankfully the guards came and saved that reporter, I was so pissed at myself and he had pissed me more. We reached where everyone was standing, vihaan went and stood beside Abha where as I was accidently standing between Arjun and Darshan bhaiya.

"Hello sir we are so happy to see you all over here together, but we all would like to know why this sudden celebration of ganpati. " one of the reporters asked my dad , he looked at us and then Arjun spoke.

"Ladies and gentlemen as you know that 7 years ago me and my family had shifted to California, and were not able to celebrate many festivals together , hence these celebrations for the sake of old times."

"So sir is it true that you are here for your new project ?" the other reporter asked.

"Well you see my friend Vihaan was getting married so how can I ditch that, and where as the new project , well you can say that it might turn out to be the reason for us to stay here ." Arjun answered confidently.

"Mr. Vihan you guys are going to have a new year's wedding, could we get some information about what type of wedding it is going to be?"

"Yes we are having a new year's wedding, and the type; well I guess it's for us to know and you to find out." Vihaan said, making us all laugh. Then the most unexpected thing happened.

"Dr. Arohi is it true that you and Dr. Neel are soon going to get engaged?" hearing this I felt Arjun's piercing gaze on me, I stood there still whereas my family was a bit uncomfortable and my friends and Neel shocked.

"No that's not the truth there is no plan as such and please stop entertaining such rumors, if there would be anything you people would come to know." I said and then sensing the tension in the air, Shivank excused us from the reporters and they left.

I was so humiliated that I straight away walked to the room which was downstairs, followed by my friends and Neel.

"I am sorry Arohi; I don't know how they had this idea at all." Neel apologized.

"It's okay Neel it's not your fault, they just assume things you know right, and it's not the first time this thing is happening. So chill it will just go away with time and now that we have cleared it to them I don't think that they have any more questions."

"one minute what do you mean by it's not the first time?" Arjun asked after sometime.

"Last year when we were working on a patient together at that time the same kind of rumors were there, but now the paparazzi are also involved." I said, trying to cool myself.

Soon I felt a pair of arms around me. I looked up only to meet deep brown orbs who smiled at me assuring me that everything will be alright.

"It's okay Arohi, everything will be alright, come on cheer up I don't want my friend to be sulking like this. And yeh bandariya shant achi nahi lagti." He said making my voice go wide.

"What monkey? then what about you? you ...you...you" I tried to come up with something good but failed.

"Awe Arohi baby can't get a word for comeback." He replied, mocking me.

I hit him laughing, as I knew when my friends are here I don't have to worry about anything. We all laughed and then walked to meet an almost empty hall indicating that most of the guests had gone back home.

After having food and some chit chatting.

"So did you like our Arohi's surprise....? She had arranged it especially for you." Nitya said, earning a glare from me.

'God why me? you could have given me a much better pair of friends. Why these?' I thought.

"I liked it, seriously Arohi I really loved it." Arjun said, bringing me out of my revive.

"So what's next now?" Raghav asked.

"Next is Navratri, but since we have less number of days, it will be one dandiya night." Abha said getting all excited. I looked at Arjun who was trying to run away from there.

"ohh hello Arjun Singh where are you running off to, we have to plan about the dandiya night." I said teasing him.

"Arohi, I know you are doing this on purpose right. you know that I don't like to play dandiya, I am scared we might get hurt." He tried to reason out, but that was not going to happen instead of consoling him and making him believe that nothing is going to happen to him we all started laughing.

I stood up and went to him and pulled his checks and said

"awe the Arjun Singh is scared of dandiya sticks. Hahaha, Arjun grew up even though your nephew was so excited about it. In fact he was running here and there with his new dandiya sticks which I gave him.”

"Ohh my god, I swear Arohi my buddy needs to stay away from you witches. Am I right boys? "he said to which all the boys agreed.

"haw we are witches then watch the wrath of witches you moron, girls come on." I said and we took our pillows and dandiya sticks in our hands and started running behind them.

"gods save us from these witches." I heard kabeer say as Rhea was running behind him.

"witches. We are witches, and then take this." With that she hit him with the pillow, which he dodged a side and ran downstairs. And following his suit all the boys ran behind him.

"stop you moron, wait till I get my hands on you. I will kill you Singh." I said running behind Arjun.

"Abha baby I swear I didn't call you witch you know right it was Arjun I-" vihan couldn't complete his sentence as Abha threw the perfume bottle which she had collected from my room, which directly landed on his head.

"aweeee mama help meeeeee ahhh" Raghav was screaming as Nitya was hitting him with the dandiya sticks.

I saw that Arjun was a few steps ahead of me hence I took long strides and hit him with the bat which I took from the kid’s room.

"ahhh witch stop it ahhh” Arjun cried and I kept on hitting him.

"ohh my god what is going on here?" we heard voices and turned towards its direction to find our parents standing there.

We all stopped immediately but not before giving a final bruise.

"now tell me what's going on here?" Anshuman asked.

"Nothing, these witches are showing their actual colors." Kabeer said only to receive a slap on his head from Rhea.

"Rhea behave!" Rhea's mom said.

"but mom- “before she could say anything my dad stopped her and said "Arohi explain what's all this?"

"Dad, these boys called us witches. What were we supposed to do? say thank you." I said glaring at Arjun.

"hawww Arjun uncle wi-witch is a bawd word." Raj said glaring at Arjun.

"awe my baby, Arjun learned something from him." We all girls said in unison.

"not only Arjun, you all need to learn something from my grandson. are you kids or what five minutes before when we went out everything was alright and when we come back you all are ready to kill each other?" Arjun's mom said, shaking her head.

"Now say sorry to each other and shake hands." Raghav’s mom said. And when we didn't oblige Arjun's dad's voice boomed in the whole house.

"boys”.

"I am sorry.”

"even I am sorry." We said and did hand shake and started laughing. Looking at us even our parents started laughing. And we all friends did a group hug and with that everyone went to their home.

"Arohi Ma’am , sir is calling you in the living room." Ramesh uncle, one of the oldest workers, told me. I told him that I am coming and then after tying my hair in a bun I walked down towards the living room where my whole family was waiting for me.

"Dad, you asked for me ?" I asked while sitting beside Drishti and Aarya Bhabhi.

"Yeah baby , actually I wanted to know are you okay for what happened today."

"yeah dad I am good , I was a bit uncomfortable earlier but now I am fine." I smiled at him which he reciprocated. We talked about how the day went and how much fun we are going to have at the small Navratri festival next Sunday.

"So Arohi your plans for those weekends, when are you going to start with it now the date is also out." Shivank bhaiya asked.

"umm yeah about that we girls are meeting tomorrow for lunch then we will decide , and mom I might get a bit late tomorrow we are going out shopping for something’s ."

"It's okay , so when is that wedding planner coming? more over who is she ." my mom asked.

"Ohh that is a surprise and she will be coming the day after tomorrow or tomorrow it's not final and .." before I could say anything dad's phone rang. He answered it , it was Arjun's dad. After talking for some time he agreed upon something and then hung up.

"We are invited for dinner at singh's place tomorrow , so I guess Arohi you will be coming directly there." My dad asked , I nodded and then stood up and said.

"Okay I'll go and sleep , I have to go to hospital tomorrow. And of the boys ask tomorrow where we are then, don't tell them about our whereabouts." They all nodded and I retired for the day .

I went to my room and slept on the bed with my phone in my hand looking at today's photographs. Happy that at last all my friends were together, happy that the person for whom I waited for such a long time was here.

Soon the sleep took over me and a small and contented smile on my face waiting to welcome the most awaited day . It was as if I was back to my teenage days where I was excited to go to college , but now though it was my hospital yet I was happy that sometime in the day I will be meeting the only person who used to bring this smile on face , who was the only reason for this smile .

Arjun . my Arjun.

I just hope that these dreams of mine will come true.

Third pov

(after Arohi goes back to her room)

"Mom ,dad don't you think we should tell Arohi and Neel about the arrangement?" Darshan asked .

"I know beta, but right now let’s enjoy these festivals and then on vihaan and Abha's sangeet we'll make it official. Let Arohi enjoy for now don't tell her about the arrangement. Am I clear." Arohi's dad announced with authority in his voice.

Arohi's dad and mom were happy to know that Neel and Arohi care for each other with these things, it was becoming more and more easy for them to take the next step to their plan for theirs .

Unaware of these plans and plots which the friends had hated most were seeing beautiful dreams for future, where two friends of theirs were actually going to be one within a months' time were talking on the phone whereas the new blooming love birds were dreaming things which god only knew would come true or not.
