Still stunned from my encounter with the girl we met last night, I wasn’t really present during the lesson. The boy who was trying to play El Condor Pasa on the instrument was actually amazing, but sounded awful due to my lousy piano accompaniment. It’s hard for me to recall when was the last time I was this bad at this, especially a song this easy. Probably in my first year of music school.
My mind was too disorganized currently. Jane Doe back there left me a mess. On the first look, she is insanely attractive and charismatic. Enough to make me say that I am attracted to her. Then she becomes so rude in an instant. She didn’t even introduce herself. Maybe she’s embarrassed? Yeah, most likely. Come on, how could an angel like that be rude on purpose?
The kid was getting frustrated (Understandably), and stopped playing. I should probably just keep my fingers off of the piano for now, and let him play his piece.
“Excuse me, Miss Steele, but I have to get this song ready for the concert. Which is in a week. If you could, it would be nice to have at least some piano bleeding through the rest of the sounds.”
Did I just get scolded by a kid? Yes, I did. Was it right for me to get scolded by a kid? Yes, it was. With no further ado, I took the sheet music, and cleansed my mind of the beautiful girl, as now well coordinated harmony filled the room.
I was self – satisfied enough by the time I dismissed the boy. It is hard to believe that someone who has been playing the piano, and the violin for more that fifteen years can get so disoriented.
I made my way into the room which resembled an improvised, miniature auditorium, and is being used for orchestra. There are twelve kids in total, with the rest of them choosing choir. Some of them were already here, and I was surprised to find a girl with a guitar. I might be old fashioned, but a guitar is more of a solo instrument.
A shock traveled up from my feet up to my head when I recognized her as the girl from the hallway, and from last night. She changed into a plain green t-shirt, and was leaning on the body of the guitar. Which would mean that she is here because she’s a student as well. Good job, Bella, good job…
When her eyes landed on me, a furious blush made its way up her face, all the way to her ears. She averted her gaze, and crossed her arms over the guitar she held, putting her head there. It was in a way disturbing how I didn’t notice any other kid in the room except her. It’s not like there wasn’t anyone else there. Before it got weird, I placed all my stuff on the table and dedicated my attention to tuning the piano.
It was finished faster than I expected. It was in a very good condition for, what I have heard, an instrument that has been here for over twenty-five years.
I felt someone’s gaze on me. I knew she was looking at me, and decided to tease her a little. I turned around and gave her a wink. Again, her cheeks went red. It was cute. It was endearing. It hit me like a truck, the fact that she can’t be over sixteen years old…
