Chapter 6

Nana agreed, Her lawyer drafted an agreement, and both parties signed the document. That night Annabel's mother died and Annabel was brought into the Yates family house.

However, what Nana wanted was Lutto's fresh wine Formula, Unfortunately, her mother did not have the second part of the formula which belonged to Annabel and was still in her custody so she gave Nana the one she had. Her father's formula, which she never used.

 Three days after she arrived at Nana's home, she heard Nana having a heated argument with her grandson Cole.

 When Annabel heard her name, she moved closer to the door, which was slightly opened. 

"You must marry that girl, that's the only way we could revive our business. You know that we needed help from her grandfather before he died. 

Unfortunately, he was not able to help us because of his sudden death, as luck may have it her daughter knew about our association with her father that was why she sent for me three days ago, but if you refuse to marry Annable and let her help us revive our business, then I will sell off all this property and retire into the elderly home. I am sure the money realized will last me for life" Nana warned.

"Ok, I will marry her, but that was because you said so. You know I didn't love her, she was just a little girl and inexperienced" Cole announced.

"She is not a little girl anymore, she will be eighteen tomorrow and it's a very good time for you to marry her. So get ready tomorrow you will be joined into Holy matrimony with Annable" Nana concluded.

The next morning Annabel was in her room when Nana came in with a beautiful white gown. She laid the dress on the bed and asked her to sit. 

"You see my dear, I want you to dress in this cloth because today is your wedding with my grandson," Nana announced, patting her on her back.

 She kept quiet. Ever since she overheard Nana's discussion with her grandson, she had prepared her mind to accept her fate. 

She loved Cole the very first day her eyes met with his, but then, he was already in a relationship with Charlotte. How could he ever love her back? Annabel thought.

"Don't worry Cole will treat you well, and I am here to make sure of that. Go ahead and get dressed everyone is waiting for you" Nana said and left the room.

Annabel changed into her beautiful gown. She applied the makeup that Nana kept on her bed. She was not a fan of makeup so she applied just a little to enhance her natural beauty.  Looking at her image in the mirror, she felt satisfied and walked out of the room. 

Cole couldn't believe his eyes, Charlotte was considered beautiful, but Annabel's calm appearance made his heart thud especially when her enormous galaxy-blue eyes glared shyly at him. His dark brown eyes caught her leaf-brown hair which was packed in a ponytail. 

Her hourglass shape brought out the beauty of her dress, which hugged so well on her skin.  Cole watched her straight legs as they descended the stairs, The gown ran halfway to her knees, thus, revealing her glossy skin. Cole unconsciously swallowed the lumps in his throat.  

Once she was down, he brought out his hand and they interlocked with hers. Gently he led her out of the house to be wedded in the courtroom. 

A drop of tears hit Annabel's open palm, as she recalled how she entered into this misery of marriage. She wiped her tears and took the formula from the safe, where Cole had kept it.

 She had a smart cognitive ability and that was how she was able to memorize his password. He watched Cole input the password on the night of their wedding when the book was handed over to him. 

Ever since then, the password never left her memory.

 She locked the safe back, but not before she put a similar booklet in the safe. 

Feeling satisfied, she started packing her stuff into her suitcase.

Meanwhile, Cole had brought Charlotte into the hospital, and she was admitted immediately. 

Dr. Pat instructed the nurse to give her Diethylstilbestrol to help stop her from miscarriage.

 "Make sure that she takes it. And again don't allow any visitors into this room. She needs a good rest" The Doctor instructed.

He then faced Cole and said.

"It is a good thing that you brought her here on time, if not the baby would have been in great danger. However, we are going to watch her today, if the bleeding stops she may go home in the morning, but make sure she doesn't stress herself." The doctor warned.

"Thank you so much, Doctor, I will do as you said" Cole replied. As soon as the doctor left the room, Cole faced Charlotte and held her hands.

"Don't worry, you and my baby will be fine," he said.  Stroking her hair and kissing her palm. Just then Nurse came in with the drug, She administered the drug and met Cole.

"You have to allow my patience to rest. Pleased you can leave now, she did not need to be stressed" the Nurse said. 

Reluctantly Cole left the room, but not before kissing Charlotte on the lips.

The next day, Charlotte and Cole came back home. Scarlett rushed to Charlotte and gave her a quick hug before she led her to the couch. After she settled down, Scarlett called Annabel who was resting in her room. 

On hearing her name, Annabel came down to the living room.

"What takes you so long? Do I need to crack my throat, before you could answer? Now hurry up go get a glass of water for Charlotte. She is not like you who couldn't get pregnant" Scarlett yelled at Annabel. 

She was visibly angry at her for hurting Charlotte and endangering the life of her grandchild.

Annabel wanted to protest, but Cole gave her a dreadful glare that sent her sprinting to the kitchen.
