Libianca's Point of View
Days have gone by since I woke up in this body. I have come to terms with what happened to me. I died as Libianca Dolce and was reborn as Zina Donovan without any memories of her past.
The door creaked open, catching my attention, and a boy who bore a lot of resemblance to Zina came in, Alexei Donovan, Zina's brother.
"Zina I am back." He chimed when he came in and walked to my side. He was carrying a bag that contained herbs which he had been using to treat me.
"Welcome back, how was school?" I managed to say. My throat was feeling better after receiving treatment from Alexei.
"School was not bad. How are you feeling today? Any improvements?" He asked me, walking up to hug me. He was looking exhausted and beaten up. It was obvious he had gotten into a fight earlier today.
"I am feeling better today; I went out for a stroll earlier around the house," I replied, breaking off the hug..
"You went out for a walk today. Did you run into anyone?" Alexei chimed, beaming a smile at me. He looked happy that I was able to move around now.
"I didn't run into anyone," I answered, I couldn't run into anyone when this house seemed desolated from the pack. "Did you get into a fight at school?" I asked Alexei, and he froze for a moment before he shrugged his shoulders.
" Not really just a minor disagreement." He answered, his attention focused on the medicine he was making for me with the herbs he had brought.
"Then why do you look beaten up?" My curiosity didn't let me stop; whenever I asked him why he came home beaten up, he always gave me the same reply.
"It is nothing, Zina, you should mind your business!" Alexei suddenly barked at me, causing me to flinch because of his sharp tone, stumbling away a few steps.
"I am sorry, I was just concerned." My voice came out like a whimper, unable to handle the way he spoke to me. Alexei's eyes softened at my reaction, and he rushed over to hug me.
" Sorry, I didn't mean to sound that way. I am just having some problems at school. You don't have to bother yourself and just focus on your recovery. " After making sure my emotions were calm, he broke the hug and went back to preparing my medicine.
" Here is your medicine. I am going to the bathroom to change my clothes. " He gave me a bowl of crudely made liquid. I drank the mixture while waiting for him to come back. After that, he made dinner for us. I wanted to help, but he refused, saying I was still a patient.
I glanced at Alexei and was convinced he had the presence of an Alpha, but why was he this poor? I wondered. We were enjoying our meal when Alexei suddenly stood up with a frown on his face.
Alexei's eyes darkened as he made his way to the door, my brows furrowed, not understanding the reason for his abrupt mood swing, but before I could ask him why, there was a loud sound of knocking on the door. "Alexei, I know you are in there. Open the door. " Someone announced from outside.
' Please don't make a sound. ' Alexei instructed me via the mind link. He went to the door to answer the visitors. He stood in the opening to prevent them from looking inside.
"What do you want?" He asked. I couldn't see who the visitors were, but Alexei didn't seem happy with their visit.
" Where is your sister? Your rent is overdue. " The person said. "Zina is not available at the moment and I promise to pay up the rent before the week runs out."
"You expect me to believe that it was the same thing Zina said a week ago." The person sneered. "If you can't pay, then move out of my house."
"Please be patient, I promise to pay as soon as possible." Alexei pleaded; he and the visitors got into a verbal argument, trying to come to a resolution until another group arrived.
I could deduce they were warriors from their presence. Alexei was tensed by the new visitors.
"Alexei Donovan, we are here on behalf of the alpha to bring your sister to the pack house. " One of the warriors announced, stopping Alexei and the homeowner from arguing further.
"Zina is dead. So how can she be here? Maybe you should check the graveyard. " Alexei indifferently replied. He was anxious about their presence. I also felt a knot form in my stomach when I heard their statement.
" It was reported that she was seen walking around the vicinity today. Please make way and don't defy the alpha's instructions or else we will be forced to use brute force. " I was surprised. Why were they looking for me? Was this why Alexei said I shouldn't make a sound?
" No one else is here. Where did you hear such a rumour from? " Alexei insisted, trying to be as calm as possible.
"Then why have you been stealing herbs from the healer?" The warrior scoffed. Alexei clenched his fist because he had been caught red-handed.
Alexei refused to move despite the warning and a fight broke out. He was strong, like an alpha, but the warriors had numbers and experience to their advantage. Despite Alexei's resistance, the warriors were able to subjugate him and break into the house.
Everything happened quickly. Before I knew it, we were both manhandled and brought to the main pack house where the alpha was resident.
The moment I stepped into the pack house and laid my eyes on the interior, my head started aching because everything seemed familiar to me. Memories that were strange to me started filling my head, but it seemed like I experienced them first-hand.
A single tear ran down my eyes when everything became clear to me. How can one person be unlucky twice in life? The memories of Zina answered all the questions I had in mind.
From a Wolfless omega, I was now a forgotten princess. Zina was the daughter of the last alpha of the Blood Moon pack. Her parents died in a tragic incident a couple of years ago, leading to several events unfolding, and ultimately, her aunty rose to the position of the Luna while her aunty's mate, who was the pack's former beta, became the alpha.
Zina and her brother were reduced to servants, an Alpha doing the job of an omega. Her aunty Melissa did everything to make their life a living hell alongside her only son, Kayden, who was now the heir. The siblings' lives have been filled with humiliation and struggles as those who adored them before now mock them.
" My favourite niece is finally here already. Why didn't you visit me when you recovered? " A familiar female voice chimed. Approaching me was a woman with pitch-black hair and sapphire blue eyes like the siblings. I recognized her to be my very hospitable aunty Melissa.
She approached me and Alexei with her husband, Ezekiel, who was the present alpha by her side. Fury filled my heart as I watched her. The way she smiled provoked me, knowing she was the cause of all Zina's problems. There was a strong urge to pounce on her and vent out my frustrations, but I was being restrained by the warriors.
"Why are you glaring at me that way?" She asked, sounding oblivious to my reaction. "You have no right to be angry when your childish act almost jeopardized the entire pack." Her voice scoffed at me with a hint of anger.
" Jeopardize the pack. That is a fancy way to say your plans to use me as a scapegoat failed." I spat at her, my eyes mocking her, which earned me a hard slap.
"How dare you!" Alexei, who had been silent all through, barked when Melissa slapped me. He wanted to break out of his restraint but was quickly knocked out.
" That boy is still as annoying as ever. I only keep him around because he still has some use. " Melissa sneered, staring at Alexei before turning her attention back to me.
" Zina, my dear, you are the daughter of the last alpha and still a member of the family. So you must serve the pack at times like this. " Melissa gave me a self-righteous speech.
"Why should I care about a pack that hates me?" Melissa reached out for my face and lifted my chin for me to stare directly into her sharp eyes.
" Do you think I care about your opinion? It doesn't matter what happens to you or your suicide attempts. You will do whatever I tell you to do or else you will watch your precious brother die. " Melissa threatened me. I clenched my jaw because I was aware of what she wanted and knew she was capable of her threats.
"If you don't want your brother dead, be useful and obey my commands." She increased the pressure on her fingertips before releasing my face, leaving red marks on where she was holding.
Melissa was all worked up because her plans to give me out as a servant to the Lycan lord pack almost failed. The previous owner of the body committed suicide due to depression from her sad life that became unbearable when Melissa decided to exchange her for a peace treaty with the Lycan lord.
Being sent to the brutal Lycan lord was as good as being given a death sentence. My last life was already bad. Why did the moon goddess have to put me in a difficult situation like this?
" Send the boy to the cells, he has to pay for the herbs he stole. As for Zina, take her away to get ready to be presented to the Lycan lord," Melissa instructed the warriors, walking away.
My eyes shot out, hands grabbing the hem of my dress. Fear gripped my insides as shivers ran down my spine.
He was here already. The most ruthless Lycan in all the land, even Werewolves feared him.
"Oh, moon goddess", I gasped in a scared whisper. My fists tightened.
' I have to do something, I can't let him take me. I can't suffer again. Why was my luck so rotten? '
