Libianca's Point of View
He was not giving me another choice. His words meant I was going to die if I didn't leave here with him. Those words set something in me ablaze.
I could hear my heart hammering against my rib cage and my hands clenched by my side trying to control my excitement. It was an offer I could not reject this offer which was Zina's greatest wish. "You promised to keep me and my brother safe.
"Yes, of course, no one can touch what is mine." He confidently stated, there was something dark flickering in his eyes when he called me mine. It was like he already possessed and owned me. There was an invisible force pulling me to him, but I didn't care because all that mattered was escaping this hellhole with Alexei.
"I will..." He didn't let me finish my statement. He placed his fingers on my lips, making me hush. " Shh, think twice before you take this ride with me, princess. Someone as kind-hearted as you might not be able to withstand what is to come, and bear in mind once you agree to follow me, there is no turning back. " He smirked at me with his gaze focused on my blue eyes.
I shivered, looking back at those sharp grey eyes; they were the eyes of the devil. He then tilted my chin to make sure I was staring at his eyes, which flickered red before turning back to its original grey colour.
"So princess, tell me, with those lovely lips of yours, what exactly do you want?" He said with a menacing tone, still carrying a mischievous smirk on his face. My eyes darkened, and my excitement turned to determination. I didn't want to think of the future consequences, I wanted to live the moment.
"I want to see it burn to ashes, they must pay for what they did to me and my brother." I spat out with my blue eyes burning with determination. His eyes glimmered impressed with my decision.
"Your wish is my command princess." He gave me his hand, which I accepted, then planted a soft kiss on it that made my stomach flutter; when my skin came in contact with his soft lips, it felt weird in a good way. My previous nervousness was watched away immediately.
He let go of my hand and then walked out of the alpha office. I followed behind, watching his broad, strong back that displayed dominance and power as he took powerful strides through the halls of the pack house like he owned the place and knew where he was headed.
My eyes glanced at our surroundings curiously, my brows furrowed because we had not come across them anymore since we left the alpha's office.
The entire pack house seemed deserted with our footsteps echoing. We arrived at another familiar door where Nikolai was greeted by a tall blurry man. His face was strange because I had never seen him before in the pack, but he seemed familiar with Nikolai.
The man stepped aside from the entrance. "You can go in; when you are done, he will bring you to the meeting hall," Nikolai informed me. I nodded and nervously gulped before pushing the door open.
Entering into the room, which seemed familiar but yet strange, my vision blurred with tears bidding in my eyes. This was Zina's childhood room before her parents died. I could feel the emotions Zina had felt, longing to come back here after all these years, but she never saw it again.
I remembered all the precious memories she shared here. My eyes travelled around the room, wondering why Nikolai brought me here until they caught the figure of someone lying on the bed.
My feet moved on, rushing towards the bed to hug a person lying unconscious on the bed. It was Alexei and he looked severely beaten. I started crying while hugging him.
"We are finally going to escape this hellhole." I cried, staring at Alexei's face; my heart stung because of his condition. Alexei's brows furrowed and he slowly mumbled.
"Zina." I immediately wiped my tears and smiled at him. " Yes, brother. I am here. " Alexei's injuries were serious, and his healing abilities were not enough to handle it, but we had to leave this place since the pack would soon burn into ashes.
I supported Alexei as we made our way to the meeting hall. He was curious why the pack house was deserted, but I couldn't give him an answer since I didn't know the reason why.
We arrived at the meeting hall and everyone's eyes fell on me and Alexei like they were awaiting our presence.
There were both familiar and strange faces and all the familiar faces were kneeling in the centre of the hall. I could easily spot my aunt Melissa and her mate Ezekiel in front since they were the pack leaders; all their officials, some warriors, and maids were kneeling behind them, crying and pleading with Nikolai, who was seated majestically on the alpha's head chair with his signature smirk hanging on his lips.
By his side stood the strange men I saw with him earlier in the alpha's office. Nikolai called me and Alexei to also stand beside him. Alexei seemed more confused by everything but there was no way he could disobey the Lycan lord.
I braced myself, disregarding the curious stares coming my way, and walked towards Nikolai. Nikolai smiled when he reached his side and his eyes went back to the pack members pleading for their lives.
"Glad you are back or else you would have missed the show." He chimed. On his signal, the Lycan warriors started taking out the pack members one by one, starting with the maids. I could watch, and wondered if he planned on taking care of all af them.
They cried and pleaded for their lives that were brutally ended, but it all fell on deaf ears. Nikolai was a tyrant, and he was enjoying their cries and pleas.
Unfortunately, Alexei could not endure too long before he threw up. I patted his back to ease the discomfort; strange enough, I was not disgusted by the way their lives were ended , but I didn't enjoy their cries of agony either. My heart squeezed with complicated feelings because even though they had treated me unfairly for the past years, there was a time when I was their princess, but it was all in the past.
" Zina, please save me. I have a baby nephew to take care of. " I suddenly heard someone cry, catching my attention. It was the same maid that had cut me while helping me dress, the same person that insulted me, but now she was shamelessly begging for her life.
She tried to crawl towards me but was kicked back by one of the Lycan warriors. Her eyes were locked on me as she succumb to an unending slumber, sending shivers down my spine. I could not bear to watch anymore.
"Don't think of leaving, we haven't gotten to the main show yet," Nikolai said, as if sensing my discomfort and understanding my thoughts. I nervously nodded and stood back in place. Later, when more than half were taken care of, the Lycan warriors stopped.
The survivors' eyes looked in Nikolai's direction. More like they were looking at me secretly pleading. They probably thought I had the power to save their lives, but unfortunately, their deaths were unavoidable when they decided to join the resistance against the Lycan lord.
"Melissa, are there any last words you have for your niece," Nikolai said, drawing my aunt's attention back to me. Melissa glared daggers at me, I gritted my teeth as memories of what Zina and Alexei had suffered in her hands resurfaced in my mind.
"I have nothing to say to a dog." Melissa spat with a brave face despite the fact she was being faced with death. "You have nothing to say to her. " Nikolai repeated after her.
" Go ahead and kill us already. What is the need to play with us? " Melissa barked at Nikolai, her mate Ezekiel's face drained of every colour, seeing how brazen his wife was acting.
"Shut up Melissa, stop provoking the Lycan lord," Ezekiel warned her. His entire body was shaking uncontrollably as he looked at his dead pack members. He shook his head. Maybe he was regretting his past actions, but there was no turning back now.
" Why should I stay quiet? He is a Tyrant and the devil himself. He will never let us go. You should have listened to me when I said we should have run away or when I warned you against joining the resistance, but you didn't. Now the entire pack is going to die because of you. " Melissa barked, glaring at her mate.
Nikolai watched them enjoying the drama unfolding. ' Is this the main event he was talking about? ' I thought to myself.
" I am an alpha. I will never abandon my pack, " Ezekiel said with his chin raised high; the remaining blood moon pack members' eyes glowed with admiration because their alpha was ready to die with them.
Melissa broke down and started laughing like a lunatic hugging her stomach. She finally lost all her nuts. "It is funny..." She broke her sentence and laughed again, staring at Ezekiel while pointing at him.
" You are really funny, my love. You sound so righteous and upright like you are protecting everyone when everything the pack suffered is because of you, but you spread rumours around blaming Zina." Melissa laughed so hard that she started crying. Ezekiel wanted to rush towards Melissa to stop her from talking further, but he was held back by the Lycan warriors.
"Don't you dare say a thing, Melissa, or I promise you will regret it," Ezekiel screamed, warning her. My mouth was wide agape, stunned by what was happening. What did Ezekiel say about Zina he didn't want Melissa to say?
"How will I regret it when we are going to die together?" Melissa scoffed.
"I might reconsider killing you if what you have to say interests me." Nikolai's voice boomed, silencing everyone. I braced myself because the answers I craved were about to be revealed.
