Golden eyes

Libianca's Point of View

I woke up with a bad headache. I could not believe I lost consciousness due to the pressure I felt.

"Oh, my head." A groan left my lips as I opened my eyes. My head was leaning on something hard, and I was completely stunned to realize I was leaning on Nikolai's chest. I could catch a glimpse of his face from the side.

My eyes popped out realizing I was cradled in his embrace. What the hell happened while I was unconscious?

"You are up princess," Nikolai mumbled with his eyes still looking away from me through the window. I wondered what he was staring at outside, which seemed very interesting.

"Mmm, what am I doing here?" I asked him, trying to move away, but his hold on my waist firmly held me in place.

He glanced at me; his face was blank, without any visible expression. "Stop moving, you haven't fully recovered." His voice warned me, stopping me from moving an inch. I gulped nervously at how close he was, his scent was driving me crazy even more than Maddox's scent did, which was weird because she was not my mate.

" We are heading to my main pack. We will arrive by dusk. " Nikolai informed me.

"What about Alexei and the pack?" I asked him, praying he would be kind enough to give me a reply.

"Your brother is in another car coming with us," Nikolai answered, putting my heart at ease. Alexei was fine. I only knew that boy for a few days, but he had already grown on me. He was a very sweet boy. It was unbelievable how people believed all those rumours about him.

I had a lot of questions to ask about what had happened after I lost consciousness, but I didn't have the nerve to ask him. I could still remember how he had killed Melissa to save me and how he acted like a heartless tyrant. ' Prince Nikolai Dmitri, the younger brother of the Lycan king, what kind of person are you?' I asked myself.

"Did you burn everything to the ground?" I managed to ask him again. Nikolai turned to look at me directly the moment my blue eyes locked with his grey ones. They stole my breath.

"It was a shame you didn't see them scream when the pack was burned to the ground." He said with a smirk that shook my insides. "So you killed everyone," I muttered, bowing my head, the thought of me being among the dead if miraculously I didn't interest him in any way.

A short chuckle rang, catching my attention to stare back at him, his grey eyes shone amused by my words. "I am not a devil to kill without reason. " He chimed, his free hand brushing away my dark hair from my face.

" I killed everyone involved in the resistance that was crazy enough to go against me and spared the innocent ones ready to turn a new leaf. They were broken off into several groups and sent to other packs under me to start afresh. "

"Are you not scared that they might want to get revenge against you?" I was surprised that Nikolai spared some lives. It was different from the rumours I heard of him. He was the god of war who could clean an entire pack within hours without batting an eye.

"If they are crazy enough to risk their lives," he scoffed. Nikolai knew what he was doing. So I didn't question him further. It was not my place. I wondered about the members of the blood moon pack that were spared, not that I had anyone in mind, since Zina was a loner and an extreme introvert with no friends.

"You should sleep more, we have a long way to go, and the car won't stop until we get to the pack," Nikolai mentioned and, just like magic, my eyes grew heavy, and I fell asleep again.

By the time we got to Nikolai's pack, it was very late in the night. My butt and back were sore from sitting for hours, but I was glad that finally my chapter with the bloodmoon pack was over.

Nikolai left with his officials to have an emergency meeting. Alexei and I were taken to the alpha's office to wait for him.

Everyone we walked past while roaming the halls in the pack house was giving us strange looks for two reasons: one, we were werewolves, and two, I was wearing the alpha's jacket.

Nikolai had insisted I wear his jacket to prevent anyone from hurting us while in the pack house since this was a Lycan pack, and we weren't even members of his main pack.

"The alpha will be with you after he is done." A young man informed us after we got seated in Nikola's office. He was the same person that gave me the silver dagger and, from my assumption, he was probably one of Nikolai's officials. He was good, but I couldn't guess his age since, unlike werewolves, Lycans were immortal and forever young.

"Thank you, sir." Alexei simultaneously and I  said together.

"Just call me Casper." He chimed, then left me and Alexei. My palms started sweating. I couldn't believe where I was. Alexei placed his palm on my clenched fist that was on my lap and smiled at me.

He was equally nervous, but he was trying to be brave for both of us. " We will be fine Zina. Mum and Dad are still watching over us, and I am here. " His soothing voice calmed my nerves and I returned a sad smile towards him.

After waiting for almost an hour, there were no signs of Nikolai or any other official. It made me seriously disturbed by what was holding them back. "Alex, I want to step out for a while," I informed Alexei, whose eyes popped out, but his nerves relaxed after explaining that I was pressed and wanted to find the restroom.

He didn't agree with the idea of roaming in an unknown domain, but I was so pressed I might pee on myself.

I roamed the deserted hallways close to the alpha office with no sense of direction, like a clueless girl. Fortunately, a maid came across me. "Excuse can you please." the rest of my statement didn't leave my lips because the maid disregarded me and walked away.

It was not unexpected because Lycans are very proud wolf shifters. I clicked my tongue but was lost because I could already feel my bladder aching.

"Are you lost?" I heard someone ask me, as if the moon goddess heard my silent prayer. Someone else arrived at the right moment.

" Yes, I am trying to find a restroom. I was waiting for the alpha in his office. "

"That's indeed Nikolai's jacket." She glanced at the jacket I was wearing. "Come with me."

The lady escorted me to another floor where there was a public restroom I could use. After relieving myself, it then hit me that I forgot to ask her for directions back to Nikolai's office. I felt like facepalming myself.

The pack house was so large, and I was completely lost. "Where am I?" I said out loud, walking around, without a single clue unaware of my surroundings.

Something hard hit me in the face and I fell. I looked up and was stunned to see a pair of hungry eyes staring at me. It was a man, probably a Lycan warrior, and he reeked of alcohol.

"Where is a clueless birdie like you heading to?" The man staggered towards me and gripped my hands. He pulled me into a tight hug, his nose was nested on my neck, which he started sniffing.

"You should watch where you are heading not to bump into people, but I guess this is my lucky day." He chuckled. Goosebumps crawled all over my skin as a knot formed in my stomach. I tried to break his hold, but he only got more aggressive. He was completely drunk and was unable to recognize the alpha's scent around me.

"Let go of me, or you will regret it. " I threatened him, praying he would believe my empty threats. The way he stared hungrily at me and was sniffing my nose already told me what he desired.

He pinned me against the wall and used his claws to rip my blouse underneath Nikolai's jacket. He then licked his lips then smirked. "It's been a long I had fun with a werewolf. I wonder how you taste."

Alarm bells rang in my head. I tried my best to struggle, but it was futile. A loud thunderous growl rang and everything froze. The man and I turned our eyes to see a large snow-white wolf glaring at us. His anger made my heart ache.

The man's eyes popped out and recognized the wolf before him. He immediately pushed me away and fell to the ground. He was too scared to move an inch under the angry gaze of the wolf.

I fell on the ground and was visibly injured by the fall and that didn't sit well by the wolf. I tried to stand up. My eyes could not look away from the wolf. It was the largest wolf I had seen with fur as white as snow.

The wolf ran towards us and stood between me and the man, blocking off the man's view. He ignored everything else and approached me first, his eyes darkening seeing my torn clothes and bruises. He released another growl. This one was filled with anger.

He turned towards the man who was too scared to run under his pressure. The man tried to run away, but the wolf didn't give him a chance. He launched an attack on the man. I was too shocked to move, staring at the white wolf whose fur was now stained red.

"What are you doing here?" Casper barked, breaking my daze. He didn't give me a chance to react and immediately pulled me away from the place. I was too shocked to hear what he was saying. All that mattered was the white wolf whose enraged eyes were looking at the dead Lycan like he wanted to shred him to pieces.

It felt like I could feel the pain in those golden eyes.
