12th January, Saturday Night, 23.35 P.M. Ministry of Sound Night Club.
"Sorry."
Arthur turned around when someone accidentally bumped his shoulder. Just as he was about to say he was okay, he frowned at the man who had bumped into him. Likewise with the man who was now in front of him — looked back at Arthur with the same gaze as Arthur.
"Sorry, have we met before?" asked Arthur. "Looks like I've seen you somewhere."
"Well, you're right. The world is so small. We caught a glimpse at lunch at a restaurant with Jennifer." Robert replied, holding out a hand.
"Ah, yes. Sorry I didn't know you."
"No problem."
They shake hands. Then, leaning on the iron supports, they chatted with each other. Arthur seemed to round his gaze.
"You came alone?"
"No. I came with her. Jennifer." Robert replied, pointing to one of the women who was dancing on the dance floor below them. Arthur looked down and saw the woman Robert was referring to.
"You know, we've been friends for a long time." Chirped Robert. Arthur turned back to the man in front of him. "And this feeling has been growing for a long time. A few days ago, I had the chance to express my feelings to her. And, well, she avoided me for a while before finally today we were able to spend the day together again. She's a very nice yet strong girl. It's just that , her character that seems annoying to some people made her shunned by many people. Dropped. Slandered. And you know what she did? She just said she was fine, even though we all know she's a strong woman. She always fought. But, no one who knows how devastated she feels whenever she receives scorn from those who hate her. "
Robert explained how he felt as he looked at Jennifer who was still busy dancing. His lips curved upwards. His eyes shone with love. Arthur could see it all. But, what was this man telling him about this for? They even just met.
"She's a very lucky-angry woman." Said Arthur.
Robert turned to Arthur, frowning. "Excuse me? You call her a 'woman'?" Robert snorted. "You call her a woman as if you know about her, as if she's not a 'girl' anymore. And, sorry, I already told you. She is annoying to some people. I think you are among those people who find her an annoying woman. " Robert protests by emphasizing the last 2 words before finally leaving the confused Arthur.
"Okay. What was that?" he muttered to himself, confused by Robert's attitude to him.
Arthur returned to the bar table where Danzell was waiting for him. hE still feels a little annoyed at the treatment of Robert who indirectly accuses HIM of being someone who hates Jennifer. Seiously? In fact, he continued to chase Jennifer just to be friends. And how could a man who claimed to be his friend accuse him of that.
"You've been taking so long." Danzell said as Arthur sat beside him.
"Oh, I was just chatting with a strange man."
Danzell furrowed his brows. "Why do you call it weird when you talk to him? You're both weird." Danzell scoffed.
"Never mind, forget it."
Arthur turned on the dance floor and found Jennifer dancing with Robert. Every now and then the woman –nope– girl returned to the table and took a sip of her drink. It looks like alcohol. Arthur won't bother. Well, the Prince Charming is there already, so why should he be there.
"Oh? Isn't that our model Jennifer?" said danzell. Arthur sighed before he confirmed Danzell's question.
"Looks like she's drunk." Said Danzell again.
"Don't mind. My new friend is already with her weird friend."
Arthur turned around again, ignoring Jennifer and Robert, who were having a good time. Danzell did it too after nodding his head, understanding what Arthur meant.
*
While on the other hand, Jennifer without knowing Arthur at the bar table, still engrossed in dancing and drinking alcohol. In fact, Robert did not stop her until he finally saw Jennifer who was about to faint.
"Hey, you've gotten really drunk, Jen. Shall we go home?" Robert tried to regain Jennifer's consciousness and took her home.
Jennifer, with her gaze, turned to Robert and smiled strangely at him. "Hm? Go home? Why do we have to go home?" then, jennifer laughed.
"We have to have fun, Robert."
Robert was overwhelmed. He could not possibly call Ruby or Brittany because he was afraid that Ruby would find out that he took Jennofer to a club like this. Yes, Robert lied to Jennifer saying that Ruby found out they were going to the club. He also brought Jennifer to this club so that her friends would not find out that Jennifer was in the club with her.
"You invited me here, Robert. Come on, dance." Said Jennifer with her drunken tone. She even started walking unsteadily.
A series of curses escaped Robert's mouth. Jennifer did not want to went home. If Ruby finds out, it's over.
Forced, Robert pulled Jennifer into his arms and escorted her away from the crowd. He saw Jennifer, who almost vomited, until with his fast steps, Robert led Jennifer to leave the club.
Arthur, who accidentally saw it, furrowed his brows. he kept his eyes on the two backs walking toward the exit. Danzell, who noticed Arthur's gaze, looked back too.
"Wow, it looks like she was really drunk." Said Danzell.
With a worried expression on his face, Arthur immediately paid the drinking bill for the two of them and invited Danzell to follow him out. Following Jennifer.
Jennifer was not able to endure the strange turmoil in her stomach, until shortly after the two of them were outside the club, she vomited the contents in her stomach.
"HOEEKK!"
Robert rubbed Jennifer's back, then gave a thin cloth which Jennifer received to clean her mouth. Jennifer feels things are very messy at the moment. Jennifer leaned her weak body against a wall.
Even though jennifer had vomited all the contents in her stomach, still her consciousness had not returned completely. She was still drunk, so Robert had to help Jennifer walk to Robert's car.
Jennifer is still rambling on like a crazy woman. In fact, when they got to Robert's car, Jennifer didn't want to get in the car and kept saying she wanted to get back into the club and dance.
"Jen?"
Jennifer turned to someone who was calling her name. Likewise with Robert.
"Oh? Ahahaha." Jennifer teased.
Arthur shook his head looking Jennifer up and down. He stepped closer to Jennifer, laughing.
"Look at you. You're so messed up."
Jennifer pulled up the leather jacket and looked at Arthur. "You're stalking me again, huh." said Jennifer, with a drunken tone.
If Jennifer wasn't drunk, maybe Arthur would take it. However, this was not the right situation for simply fighting over ridiculous issues. Arthur laughed.
"You're already drunk, jen. You're bothering your boyfriend." Said Arthur, turning to Robert after saying so.
Jennifer was still standing staggering until Arthur had to help her up by grabbing Jennifer by the waist.
"Jen? Boyfriend?" Jennifer pursed her lips. Arthur was silent.
"Are we friends?" asked Jennifer.
Arthur raised his eyebrows. "It depends on how you think about it."
Robert hated this. He kept seeing Jennifer acting spoiled to Arthur. In fact they are very close. Too intimate. He didn't like seeing Jennifer being that close to other men, including that man, Arthur.
"Jennifer, let's go home." Robert spoke in his flat tone. He went over to Jennifer and pulled her away from Arthur.
"No!!" exclaimed Jennifer, struggling not to go home.
"Hey, that man hurt Jennifer." Said Danzell behind him when he saw Robert who continued to force Jennifer.
Arthur sighed. "Robert, you don't have to force her like that." said Arthur to Robert. Robert turned his head, staring at him flatly.
"What do you mean?"
"Let me talk to her."
Without waiting for Robert's reply, Arthur approached the crouched Jennifer and lowered her head
"Jen, hey." Called Arthur gently to Jennifer who was sobbing. "Hey, you're so screwed up, you know. You don't look pretty like this. You don't want me to call you an ugly girl, do you. I don't want to have an ugly, whiny, messy friend like you. You have to go home, hm?" persuaded Arthur.
Before long, Jennifer nodded her head and tried to get up from her place, assisted by Arthur. Arthur led her into Robert's car.
Not wanting to mince words, Robert immediately entered his car without turning or thanking Arthur.
"Go home and sleep well." Said Arthur, which Jennifer nodded obediently again. After waving her hand at Arthur, Robert's car had sped off with the other vehicles on the road.
Danzell walked over to Arthur on the side of the road. "Wow, such a gentleman. He's more obedient to you than her boyfriend."
Arthur didn't respond other than with a low laugh.
