Ch. Seven

Chapter Seven

Peter takes my hand and then grins at me.

"Come on, it's time for you to get out of that bakery for once." He tells me.

I sighed.

"You better not make me regret this Greene." I muttered.

"Trust me you won't. You'll actually be thankful I took you." He tells me smirking.

"Yeah, okay. Can we stop by Subway first?" I ask him.

He just laughs.

"Andrea, I'm pretty sure that there will be food there." Peter tells me.

I roll my eyes.

"Seriously? It's probably just stupid weed brownies." I say scoffing.

"You know what weed brownies are?" He asks me in pure amusement.

"Of course I do, my ex used to try to sneak them into the bakery. Mai saw and then burnt them after he left." I say frowning at the freaking memory.

My ex boyfriend Ian is nothing but trouble.

"Your ex? What happened between you two? Did he break your heart?!" He asks me looking down at me in worry.

"Um well he uh, well did something bad. And he got sent to jail for five months. So that's why I broke up with him." I say nodding my head agreeing with what I said.

The party is apparently an all day and night thing. So here we are at one in the afternoon going to a lake party.

And Peter is in a white flannel shirt. May I say that he looks so freaking gorgeous while I'm here looking like crap.

"I feel like you aren't telling me the whole truth. But one day I'll get the whole story from you. It's probably something bad that completely changed your whole life so I won't push any buttons unless you're ready to tell me. We all have a past Andrea." He tells me while opening the passenger door.

I smiled at him and got in.

While he closed the door and made his way to the driver's seat.

*~*

"Hey Peter!" Some guy shouted.

Peter wrapped his arm around my waist and we started to walk to his friends.

"Ah you must be the famous baker Andrea. I'm Justin." Some blondie says shaking my hand and smiling at me.

"Nice to meet you." I say shyly.

Sure he's good looking, but I'm shy because this is my first party and I'm not sure how I should even act. Hopefully I don't make a complete fool of myself.

"Well Andrea, we have hot dogs and hamburgers on the grill. And we have a cooler on the table with soda. But another underneath the table we have another cooler full of all the beer you can dream of." Justin says happily.

"Just love your beer too much huh?" Peter asks while chuckling.

"You know it." Justin grins.

"Anyways, enjoy." He adds while patting Peter's back and walking away.

"So what do you want to do Andrea? I'm all yours just to let you know." Peter explains grinning at me.

I sighed.

"How about we hang in a secluded spot?" I ask him crossing my arms.

"Ah come on, how about we hang out near the shoreline of the lake?" He asks me while grabbing my hand and walking to the shoreline.

"Okay, but make sure that there's no giant alligator." I say worriedly.

He just laughs.

"Too many people are here. Especially in the water." He chuckles giving a pointed look towards the lake.

"Okay then." I frown.

We take a seat on the shoreline and I cross my legs crisscrossed applesauce, while Peter takes a seat next to me and takes out his phone.

"So, want to play 21 questions?" He asks.

"Um sure." I say.

"Favorite color?" He asks me.

"Pink, what's yours?" I ask him.

"Blue. Favorite movie?" He asks me.

"Longest Ride." I say without hesitation.

"Seriously? I like Captain America: Civil War." He tells me.

"That's good I guess, but the Longest Ride is seriously one of the greats." I say dreamily.

"It's one of the greats? Are you serious?" He asks me in bewilderment.

"What? You don't like it?" I ask looking at him and biting my lip.

"I've seen it in theaters for a date. And literally the movie sucked and also the date sucked." He says shuddering at the memory.

"Really how did the date suck?" I ask him.

"The girl kept texting the whole time and calling her best friends about what we were doing and where we are going to next." He says while shaking his head.

"I'm sorry about that." I say.

"It's okay. It was a long time ago. I told the girl when I dropped her off that I don't want to ever go out with her again." He explained.

"Have you ever seen her again?" I ask him.

"Yeah, she's in my calculus class. And she plays softball for our college. But she doesn't know what to say to me, so she avoids me." He tells me chuckling.

"Maybe because you put her in her place." I tell him.

"Maybe I did, anyways, you want something to drink?" He asks me standing up.

"Yeah sure, I'll have a Dr. Pepper." I say smiling up at him.

He smiled down at me.

"Want to come walk with me?" He asks me.

"I'll sit here and tan, thank you anyways." I say truthfully.

He just laughs.

"I'll be right back." He chuckles.

After he left, I looked back to watch the lake.

"He's just going to use you." Some girl sneered.

I looked up and frowned at some girl glaring at me.

"I'm sure that he's already talked about me to you before." She says haughtily.

"Who are you?" I ask her furrowing my eyebrows.

She gasps and then scowls at me.

"Nina, what the hell are you doing?" Peter asks her annoyed.

She gasps and shows more of her cleavage.

"This freak was being mean to me." She lies while pouting.

I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah I doubt that. Go away you lying whore." He says not taking his eyes off her and handing me my Dr. Pepper.

She gasps then stomps away making sand fly everywhere.

"Sorry about her. She acts like any guy she slept with is her boyfriend." He sighs while sitting down next to me.

"It's okay." I say opening the lid and taking a long drink.
