The person I am stuck with

Isabel jumped at the man from behind, and the man fell to the ground. The man was wearing a wolf mask. The man who was lying on the ground was simply staring at us through the mask. Isabel looked at me, and I gave him a grumpy look. I was unhappy to see her.

I rose to my feet while massaging my neck. Charlie was standing there, simply staring at us. In the interim, I saw an arrow going in the Isabel direction. I rushed towards her and tried to save her. She fell to the ground. When we rose to our feet, we saw that the man had disappeared. When I looked around, I saw a piece of cloth lying on the ground. Its color was red.

I touched the back of my head. "Where did he go?" I asked with a worried face. I went to the cloth and took hold in my hand. Isabel remained silent. Isabel was sitting on the ground. Her elbows were scratched. She was touching her forehead. It seemed like she was bleeding. I walked towards her.

As I saw her blood on her elbows, I started getting concerned. “Are you okay?” I yelled.

“Heath, Charlie, I'm here,” Isabel said while wiping the blood. I looked at her with narrow eyes. Isabel smiled. “I am fine” she said. Later, I angrily asked, what are you doing here, Isabel? I told you to leave me alone.” I was fuming with anger. Charlie looked at me and asked me to keep quiet with an eye gesture. But I was furious, and I started talking. “What are you doing here?” Before Isabel said anything, Charlie stepped between us. “Hey, back off, Heath. She was here to help you and now she is going home” Isabel suddenly jumped into the conversation.

“I am not going anywhere, Heath. I want to talk to you.” I rolled my eyes. “There's nothing to talk about. I do not want to talk to you now." Charlie was trying to act like a mediator. He tried to calm me down, but I was mad at Isabel. “Heath, just listen to her. She is here to talk to you. You know communication is the key for stable relations,” Charlie said while smiling on his face.

I gave my head a nod. I got angrier after hearing Charlie's voice. “I said to Charlie in an angry voice. “Stay out of this, Charlie. This is between me and her.

Before Charlie said anything, Isabel started talking. “Please, Heath. I just want to explain.” I shifted my gaze towards Isabel. “There's nothing to explain. You have no respect for me in your heart,” I said while walking away.

“No, it is not true,” Isabel said while taking hold of my hand. I sighed. “Well, I think it is true. I noticed whenever I asked you to do something, you always did the opposite,” I said with a sad face. After hearing this, Isabel was heartbroken. “I had come to help you. I am glad I came,” Isabel said while walking away, and Charlie started chasing after her.

“Listen to me!” Charlie yelled. I gave my head a nod. “She always does that. She first came after me and then made me feel guilty for yelling at her,” I said while walking behind them. After hearing this, Isabel halted midway and shifted her gaze towards me. He looked at me with narrow eyes. Her eyes started glowing.

“Ohh...” Charlie reacted while walking one step back. “What did you say?” Isabel asked while walking towards me. I pressed my lips together. “If you do not like the truth, I cannot do anything,” I said while looking at Isabel’s face. She got angry and gave me a double-handed shove.

“You are never happy to see me. You always get mad at me for coming after you." Before she said anything, I started speaking. “Because I care about my child, which you are carrying. Your actions always put my child and your life in danger.” I took a small pause, and a minute later, I started speaking again.

“Sometimes I think you hate our child.” Isabel looked at me in astonishment. "What?” Isabel reacted. I started walking away from Isabel. She hates my behavior and takes hold of my hand. “I love this baby. I will not do anything to harm the baby” I sighed. I was acting like I did not hear her. She pulled my arm to get my attention.

“I am sorry, but it is true,” I said while jerking Isabel’s hand. Again, Charlie stepped between us. “Okay, you two need to calm down. Let's talk this out,” Charlie said while taking hold of our hands.

We suddenly jerked Charlie’s hand. “Hmm, so you both are serious,” Charlie said while touching the back of his head. Isabel gave her head a nod in anger. “I care about you. I am trying to stand by your side in any situation because it is my duty towards my people. We came together to protect our people. It is our fight.” Before she said anything, I cut her off rudely.

“I do not need your help. I got injured because of you. You got me distracted last night. If you do not come here, we would have caught the guy who is killing cattle around town,” Isabel chuckled.

“So, you are blaming me for your shortcoming." She gave her head a nod. “Last night, you were already distracted when I got here. Also, you were screaming Madi's name when you were unconscious."

I looked at Isabel in astonishment. Before I said anything, Charlie jumped into the conversation. He started talking with a nervous laugh. “What are you talking about? I did not hear anything.”

“Shut up, Charlie!” Isabel yelled while giving Charlie a grumpy look. Charlie raised his eyebrows and put his right-hand index finger on his lips. “I think I should keep quiet from now on.”

I sighed. I pressed my lips together. “I do not know what you are talking about." I asked with a surprised face. Isabel gave her head a nod. “Why did you come here?” Isabel asked while walking up to me.

I lowered my gaze for a second and then looked at Isabel's face. “Just go home. Taking stress is not good for your health,” I said with a slight smile on my face. Isabel was looking at me with an angry face.

We heard the man shouting hysterically before Isabel spoke. We turned to face the direction from where the scream was coming.
