Chapter 7. Fear of being exposed.

lAlex POV.

My mind was grimacing in silent pain, I could feel the sadness in my wolf. Ever since Julia disappeared from the pack, I felt so down and devastated. I couldn't figure out the reason why I was feeling this way but the memories I made with her kept coming to my mind. Even though we can't be together under these circumstances, I still long for her presence in my life.

I wasn't aware that Amorel had been in my office for a while but the moment I felt her touch, I jolted out of my thoughts.

“Are you Okay?” She asks in a calm voice.

I look at her face and read her expression, she seems calm despite the fact Julia was gone. I know they all hate her for being weak but this is getting deeper than I thought.

“Have you seen Julia?” I ignored her question and threw the question instead.

I could see the frown that crept up on her face the moment I mentioned Julia, I knew she wasn't comfortable with me talking about Julia.

Amorel folded her arm across her chest and gave a disdainful look as she said. “Are you talking about that weak thing again? She is gone for goodness sake and I don't think I should care about her whereabouts”

I released a deep frustration, I could feel Achilles's anger. “This girl is too rude, I don't like that” He complains.

Achilles is my wolf, he doesn't accept any disrespect from others. Ever since I chose Amorel at the mating ceremony, Achilles hasn't been talking to me as usual. He always keeps quiet and talks whenever he has something important, and I could say that it's because of Amorel. Achilles never liked her.

“Are you always like this? Are you this cruel?” I fire my questions at him while trying to keep my calm.

She feigns puzzlement and swivels her head in another direction. “We are married and I'm your Luna! So stop talking about a useless thing”

“Stop calling things! She is human, not a thing!” I snarled at her. My claws come out and my fingers become long, Achilles wanted to take over but I stopped him. I can't afford to let him attack Amorel, it will be another fallout.

Amorel turns me in anger, but she shifts back after seeing my claw. “Why don't you shift to your wolf form? Huh! Let's see what you can do” The angry words tumbled out of her mouth, her anger was palpable.

I felt numb and a wave of nausea swept over me, it's not possible to shift in front of her. Everything will be exposed once I shift to my wolf, I sense Amorel's skepticism. She must have known something about me but I'm not ready to let my guards down.

“The next time you talk to me in that manner, forget about your position as a Luna. And don't forget that you are still my subject, so learn how to respect me” I threatened with my voice.

She glared hard at me and said. “I will take my leave then” She stormed out of my office.

My heartbeat became faster and I could hear Achilles groan. “I told you she knew something! She is suspicious!” Achilles screams in my head.

My hands become shaky, and the tension within me becomes stronger. This isn't the right time to let my identity be exposed, this can't happen to me at this moment. Not even the time that Julia has disappeared.

Achilles said within me.“You need to act fast before things get out of hand or else everything will end”

“Listen, Achilles, this wasn't the right time for you to say something like this. My mind is shattered at the moment, I don't know what to do” I lamented silently.

“I understand how you feel. And I don't think she knows much as of now” Achilles tried to calm me down.

I teleport into my room and rush into the bathroom, that is the best place I ease my pain.

I stay in the bathroom for a long time, but my cool time comes to an end when I sense a strange energy in my room. I rose out of the bathtub, and put on my bathrobe before walking into my bedroom.

The person was turning his back and I could recognize who he was immediately. I felt so scared at this sight, but Achilles gave me strength.

“You get this, keep going,” He said to me, and I held my fist tightly before bowing respectfully.

“You are welcome, Sir” I greeted.

The tall figure turned to me with his blue eyes, his aura was terrifying and deadly.

“How is everything going with the pack? I guess you have been a good Alpha so far” He asked with his icy voice as he sat on my bed.

“Yes, everything is perfect. All thanks to you” I responded quickly.

His lips curve in a smile as he traces the edge of my bed with his finger. He suddenly stops and looks me in the eyes. “I heard you chose your Luna already”

I break our eye contact instantly and face downcast. “Yes Sir, I'm sorry that I didn't tell you about it”

He chuckled and continued to trace the edge. “You don't have to apologize, as the Alpha, you are expected to make decisions as a ruler. There is no need for you to tell, after all, I'm busy doing other things” He said with a low voice that almost drained out my energy.

“Thanks so much for the understanding,” I said.

His smitten face suddenly turned Cold and his condescending gaze fell on me. I almost lost my balance by his gaze.

“You are doing more than I expected these days. I can't believe you changed your Luna at the mating ceremony, is there anything I need to know?”

I was sort of words and I found myself in a difficult situation while contemplating on what to do. “The thing is that….. I… she is..” His next action reprieves my words.

“You did a great job this time around, and I'm proud of you” After saying this, he teleported out of the room.
