Chapter 4: Pregnant

Julia Meetsell POV

The rays of light pierced into my eyeballs as I opened my eyes slowly.

"What just happened?" I thought and suddenly gasped after remembering what happened yesterday. I just slept with a stranger!

I slowly sat up and the pains I felt weren't good at all but I needed to get to my pack as fast as I could.

I couldn't believe a week had just passed while I was also trying my best to put all the memories with that strange man at the back of my head.

My stomach grumbled again and I felt nauseous and before I knew it, I rushed to the toilet again and packed out all the food I had taken earlier this morning.

"What was wrong with me and why was I having a temperature?" I thought but the thunderous voice of my aunts made me jerked out of my thought and I rushed out immediately.

"You called for….

The remaining words stuck into my throat as she landed me a resounding slap on my face.

"Are you suddenly deaf?" She almost yelled at me while I kept quiet as a tear dropped from my eyes.

Why they were all so mean to me isn't my problem and I was determined to change my fate and be strong for myself.

"Are you pregnant?" She suddenly asked and I felt my ears were heavy for that.

How could she say such a thing?

My life would never remain the same anymore if I was.

"You better not be, we can't afford to bring shame to this family like your useless father did by getting married to your mother," She said, sarcasm evident in her voice.

"Anna!" We all heard my uncle yell as fear instantly covered her face.

He walked up to us, anger evident on his face.

"How many times have I warned you never to talk about my late brother that way. Well it's not your fault, if he had listened to me and didn't get married to that witch, he would have still been alive!" My uncle, Michael spat hatefully before walking in angrily while his wife followed behind.

"Let me remind you again and again. You are nothing but a witch and an unfortunate being who causes trouble everywhere she goes," Maddie whispered into her ears before hitting me on the shoulder and also leaving.

After watching everyone leave, I rushed to my room, standing in front of the mirror.

"Am I pregnant?" I gasped in shock, covering my mouth in shock. But seeing my tummy swell made me realize I was pregnant and the high fever I was having confirmed that I was actually pregnant.

“Why were things getting only more miserable?”

I really needed to free my mind, at least for tonight.

As I walked through the creaky front door, I couldn’t help but feel numb. My uncle’s cold, calculating gaze met with mine, and I knew I was in for a long night.

Worst of it all, I was never good at pretending!

“Where have you been?” He growled, his voice hinted at disappointment and anger.

I hesitated for some seconds, unsure of how to break the news of me being pregnant and funny enough, I never really knew who the person was.

Getting pregnant wasn’t even in my dictionary and now I had to face the daunting task of telling my uncle and his family.

“I…I was just out for a walk,” I stammered, trying to avoid his cold glares.

But it was too late to convince him with my smiling face, his eyes had already met with my growing belly, and his face instantly twisted in disgust.

“You really are pregnant, aren’t you?” He spat, his voice thunderous.

“How could you be so reckless? Well, I never had expected something good from you.”

I felt tears prick at the corners of my eyes as my uncle’s family began to gather around, their faces filled with shame and mockery.

“I have always known she was always the same as her slut mother,” Anna mocked, folding her arms.

“Since you’ve decided to be an embarrassment to this family, I think it would be nice if you just get your worthless self out of here, you snake!” he yelled at me and afterwards landed me a hot sleeper that sent me to the floor.

“Such a shame,” Sarah, my cousin snorted.

“No, you are not disowning me, are you? " asked my uncle, breaking into laughter. I could sense his laughter was of one who was angry and frustrated at the same time.

"Get your bags out of my house right now!" Michael yelled unto his voice.

"Honey, why don't we give her a second chance?" Anna asked with a grin on her face.

"Thank you so much aunty…I promise not to let anyone know we are related and take……

"On one condition," Anna smirked, moving close to me while I stepped backwards in fear.

"Abort this child," She told me and I almost lost my balance with what she said.

"I can't abort the child aunty, it's risky," I told them and Maddie who had been shooting hateful glares at me finally spoke.

"You really are so desperate to rule. Just abort the Alpha's child!" She screamed and I could sense, she by mistake spilled it out.

"Alpha's child?" We all asked at once but she only faked a smile, rushing in.

"What do you mean Maddie?" My aunt asked Maddie, who itched her hair nervously before rushing in.

"Does she know something?" I thought and watched the rest of my family walk in too before I followed behind.

"What do you mean by the Alpha's child, Maddie?" Anna asked but Maddie only smiled and shook her head negatively.

"I was just so upset she is trying to ruin this family, so I had to spill out nonsense," She told her parent's who only nodded and I could see Maddie and Sarah shoot daggers at each other as I wandered what was happening to her.

At night, I heaved a sigh of relief and turned to leave when I saw Maddie.

"How dare you sleep with my man!" She instantly inquired from me while I stared at her in confusion.

"I know you are really disappointed in me and never wished I was your cousin, I'm…."

I was interrupted with a smack on my face and she swiftly pulled my hair.

"Quit with the pretence!" She yelled at me while I winched in pain.

"If you know what's good for you, get rid of that child inside of you!" She gritted her teeth in anger.

"I can't," I told her, gazing at the floor while I played with my fingers nervously.

"I think I'd have to help you with that!" She smirked before pushing me hard to the tile floor.

My sight instantly became blurry, and I felt my body go numb.
