Chapter 4: The interview.

Just like a dream, Halsey who had lost all hope found herself regaining it slowly, she had already given up on herself since a very long time ago.

So, she had the mindset of staying at Marianne bakery all day or just get married to a rich man, that was her special dream....why?

Just because of countless rejections, she was rejected a lot by different companies for a reason she's still trying to find out. she believed her work is so good but why is she always getting rejected, that being said she couldn't continue facing the rejection, so she gave up!

However,she couldn't believe what's happening right now, Ramirez O'Brien personal make-up artist, Wow... she'd have cursed anyone who proclaimed that to her one week ago, because it's such a big joke which is turning to reality to her.

The next day she found herself in front of the gigantic building, "shining idol entertainment" with her make-up box hanging around her neck.

Wow... Halsey Haynes, Time to let go of every goddamn thought, you can do this! She whispered to herself and started walking inside the agency.

Her pace got slower when she got inside the agency and see everyone looking primped, What the hell did you put on? She grunted and took another look at her casual wear.

She was in a biege cargo pants and a biege tank top with a black jacket and a black sneakers to go with her hair packed in a ponytail.

It's alright, it's just a freestyle! She persuaded herself and headed to the venue immediately.

Her head was bowed all through but suddenly she raised her head without any reason and met a clearly unbelievable sight before her.

It's Ramirez! It's Ramirez O'Brien! She screamed inwardly and locked eyes with the superstar whose gaze was so straight and direct as he walked towards her, His brown piercing eyes pierced inside her soul and she felt some unexplainable movement in her heart.

He looked away after some seconds and walked past her, she became frozen to a spot , what? What the h*ll is happening to me? Wait, He didn't remember me.... Does he? She asked herself with her hand on her chest.

His gaze! There is something about them her heart couldn't withstand, I should avoid that no matter what, I mean how can just a mere gaze make me lose control like this? She reprimanded herself but still rooted to a spot.

Are you here for the interview? It's starting already! A random person said to her and she snapped out of it immediately then took to her heel.

She got in front of the hall but held tightly unto the knob, You can do this, Halsey! Don't be intimidated, they are mere humans like you, they are not wolf! She calmed herself but the door got opened from inside and she got dragged in by the strong holder.

It's turned out to be a security and she scrambled inside immediately where other applicants were sitting already, She was the last to register and got chosen so she gently sat on the chair number twenty.

They were all seated calmly in the huge hall while staring blankly at the projector and suddenly someone entered which got them all stunned.

Emily McCall! A girl called and every other one gasped.

What? Wow! This is insane, Halsey gasped and covered her mouth.

It's normal for every other person not to know who she is but if you are an aspiring make-up artist, How can you not know who this professional lady is?

She is just a perfect role model for them because she's the best, The best that every agency tried hiring but, nope! They couldn't do it, she refused to sign with anyone and chose to be everyone make up artist not a single celebrity make up artist.

She was invited for the interview to choose someone as good as her not just some random make-up artist.

Being a celebrity make up artist, Wow! I've never seen something intimidating and bolder than that.

You have to go with every single theme you're given, You have to Walk on eggshells around the scary looking celebrities, You're taking a bold step, I admire you ladies! She said and everyone shower her with a round of applause.

As you all know, I don't work for just one person, I have to spread my wings and show my talents to everyone, I can't possibly work for Mr Ramirez with that mindset but you making up your mind to stick by his side and help him, you're just so impressive and admirable, let's go girls we can do it! She added and everyone clapped again.

I can't believe she's lifting up my spirit like this, Halsey mumbled all smiles while clapping with all her strength.

Today, we're only doing something simple and I only need a two winner, That doesn't mean the rest of you are not good at what you do, nope! You can always improve your skill and work with someone better, so let's proceed! She said and everyone eyes got glued to her.

It's only a brief Q&A moment, She said and almost everyone breathe out in relief except Halsey who was feeling pressurized.

Suddenly a question popped on the projector and everyone attention diverted to it.

"Is primer the same as toner?" The question goes thus and more then ten ladies raise their hand up.

"Yes!" "Yes!" "Yes!" Was everyone answer as they were being pointed to.

Okay,good job! So we're gonna move on to the next question_ _

No! Halsey suddenly found herself saying and she regretted it almost immediately when all eyes were turned towards her.

Halsey Haynes, can't you just keep quiet for God sake? She scolded herself as every other applicants threw her a questionable glare.

Can you explain what you mean by that young miss? Emily McCall said and Halsey slowly stood up while scratching her nape.

These are two different things... She started off and looked around but she shut her eyes immediately, the gazes are just too threatening for her.

Toner are basically used in a skin care routine while primer is a makeup routine, she said boldly and opened her eyes again.

What can be use instead of a toner,young miss? Emily asked again and she bit her lower lips.

Witch hazel, Aloe Vera, Rose water, Apple cider vinegar and also Green tea, she answered and Emily shook her head totally impressed.

You know the few hacks, she ticked her tongue and Halsey smiled before taking her seat.

So the next question goes thus.... Emily announced and diverted her hand towards the projector.

"How do professionals apply lipstick?" It popped up.

"I!" A young lady screamed and stood up Immediately.

With your desired lipstick of your choice, start by applying the lipstick on the center of your upper lip, just below the Cupid's bow, you can apply the lipstick from the tube of the applicator_ _

Way to go girl! You got the key points, Emily said and stopped her from going further.

Wow, you guys are really impressive! She said exchanging glances between Halsey and the applicant number twelve.

Halsey took a closer look at the girl and it turned out to be the stranger who told her the interview is starting earlier, nice! She whispered to herself and the next question came up Immediately.

"When your client parrot make-up tips and tricks they saw online, what's gonna be your reaction?" Halsey read and stood up Immediately.

It can be frustrating if they tell you to do your own job with incorrect and unsafe methods.... just keep your cool! If they've got something wrong correct them and then share some insider tips and tricks straight from the horse mouth. You're professional so it's time to show it, she answered and earned a big smile from Emily.

We've come to the end of this interview ladies, you guys are really impressive, we're gonna call this a day so everyone can leave except for applicant twenty and twelve, Emily announced and one by one everyone started leaving the hall except Halsey and the applicant number twelve.

Thanks for earlier, I was really so out of it! Halsey whispered to the lady's ear and she turned around.

Cali by name,she smiled and proffered her hand.

I'm Halsey, nice to meet you! She replied and slowly took her hand, they exchanged handshake and smiled at each other.

It's good to see two professionals bonding already, you guys are so great! They heard Emily's voice and turned around immediately.

Thank you ma'am! They chorused and she nodded.

Guys, let's move to the agency president office and round this up, she said leading the way and they both followed her.
