I mean, I need you for a registration, no... right now I'm looking for job and I've gotta submit some examples of my work, so I need to work some magic on your face.

I'm not in! Not at all... but I'm going to Marianne's bakery, so I might as well be in, he replied and Halsey was forced to chuckle a bit.

You're not still over your unrequited love? come on austin! You're twenty and my friend is twenty-six, Twenty-six Austin, For crying out loud! stop flogging a dead horse, Halsey rasped totally concerned about her kid brother's pure heart.

Halsey slowly took her seat and dragged her already served pasta and salad closer.

Lahey pushed the meatballs towards her and she gave him a thumbs up.

Halsey Haynes family? Her family consist of four members, Halsey, Austin, Lahey and their mom.... Selena.

Their father died two years back leaving them in care of their mother. Well, Lahey is not a kid... He's a thirty-two years old bachelor.

He didn't get married because he felt like he still have to take care of his siblings and mother a little more. Halsey and Austin are still a kid in those grown up bodies. They bickered at every chance they gets, he had a feelings they are gonna kill the middle age woman, before her time. s

So, he's always there to moderate everything.

A big load is always off their mom's neck once Lahey is there, he's just the best son she could ever have. Lahey is part of a neurosurgeon department in a big hospital at NY, he's the assistance head of the department.

Austin is still in a law school and a very bright student, even if he doesn't look it. Halsey is the only one who's lacking among the three siblings.

She's not that bright of a student, since her middle school. She only made sure not to be at the bottom, but never work towards being the top. Her mother wanted her to be a neurosurgeon, like her brother Lahey, but she can't even stand the name, Neuro... no! It's not her thing, so she went to a beauty school.

However, she's still not doing anything with her skills, even if she's so good at it more than any other thing else, because she lacked the confidence. This time around, she's only giving it a go because of Marianne, nothing else!

Lahey never pushed her to chase anything, instead catered for her every need because he knew, she'll eventually break out of her shell no matter what.

What does it sounds like? Are you done taking the pictures? I'm getting tired of sitting down, he said and Halsey hummed in a reply.

Where are you off too? He asked, Immediately he saw halsey approaching the door.

"Moon bakery!" She replied and he sprang up Instantly.

Let's go together! He giggled and ran after her like a puppy.

AT MOON BAKERY

Get the table three order and you..... Austin, don't just sit around, help halsey! Marianne snapped at both Halsey and Austin, who are working their ass off in the jam-packed bakery.

I can't believe this shit, Did you think we're your part-timer? Halsey grumbled, heading to the counter with used plates.

I'll always be here to help big sis! Austin giggled and halsey scoffed at her love blinded younger brother.

A strawberry and vanilla cake please! A customer said and halsey slammed the tray on the counter.

Goddamn it! I'm aching all over. when will they stop placing orders? Hey, are you using black magic on them? Halsey whispered the last part and earned a smack on the head in return.

That's because I'm good with what I do. Get yourself a job as well and stop bumming around! She smirked and brought out the order from inside the oven.

Attend to them with smiles, she twitched her lip and halsey who was busy rubbing her head smirked in return, I'm never coming back to your bakery! She stated and snatched the tray away from marrianne's hand.

This is your tenth time of saying that this week and I always meet you by the door, whenever I arrive! Marrianne replied and shared a brief laughter with Austin.

She's so cute and annoying, she said staring at Halsey who attended to the customer with high spirit.

Yeah... I hate to admit, but she's too innocent for her own good! Austin added and they stared at the interactive and smiling Halsey.

HOURS LATER

So, we're gonna get less busy at the end, they keep swarming in like roaches, I almost get goosebumps! Halsey grumbled, tilting her neck back and forth.

That's not the way to address my adorable customers, unless you wanna get kicked out! marrianne snapped, coming from inside the kitchen with a big tray in her hand.

Are pancakes there? Austin said eagerly before she can place it on the table and she nodded, i added strawberry and honey as well! she replied and he smiled widely, as she gently placed it on the table.

You're the best! Austin winked at her and they engaged in a high five.

Yuck! Halsey snorted and they both rolled their eyes.

You're just so annoying, you know? That's why I can never like you, I'd chose Marianne over you millions of time! Austin said and Marianne gasped.

That's so romantic! Marianne took an unexpected turn. However, Halsey ignored them totally.

Her mental heart will be at stake, if she keep on interacting with them.

They kept on teasing her, but she kept herself busy by stuffing her face with snacks.

Suddenly, her phone beeped and she brought it out of her back pocket reluctantly. Nothing good can come out of it, so she slowly checked the content and_ _

The samosa she was eating slipped down her mouth slowly.

This is insane, it can't be true... I'm Halsey Haynes, How can this luck find me, when I'm the master of bad lucks? She whispered to herself totally out of it.

What? Did a guy told you he love you? Austin teased but noticed she wasn't even moving.

What? Were you told you were beautiful? He added and scrambled to her back with marrianne.

What the fuck?! Austin screamed and marrianne covered her mouth seeing the content.

You were picked! You were picked... like what the hell? Marrianne screamed and the motionless Halsey threw the phone on the table, like it's some sort of leech.

It's a lie! Can you believe it? She faced them and they both nodded negatively.
