Chapter 5

EMBER'S POV

Once I was settled in my room, I left for the bathroom to take a cool shower after a very long day.

Getting back to my room, my phone rang and I picked it up with a smile on my face.

It was a video call from my mum.

I connected instantly, with a smile on my face and my hair dampened due to the shower.

“ I can see you're happy.” Mum said with a smile.

“ Of course, Mum, I really love it here.” I replied.

I wasn't telling her about what had occurred earlier, and I'm sure neither Kaid or Thane would also speak about it.

“ Hope there isn't any problem?” Mom asked, when she noticed I was spacing out.

“ No, no, not at all. I'm cool.” I forced a smile.

We talked for over twenty minutes before hanging up.

I changed into my night wear since it was already getting late.

A message popped on my phone and I picked it up.

‘ Hello Little doll, welcome to Ravenswood College.'

The message reads.

A shiver ran down my spine, and my heart dropped to the pit of my stomach.

The message was from a strange number, and the thought of it made my stomach coil.

‘ Don't get scared yet, I won't hurt you only if you behave.’

Another message popped on my screen.

‘ I'm always watching you.’

I was scared. Hell, heavens know how scared I was after reading the message, but I didn't think too much about it, before drifting off to sleep.

Maybe it was just one of the numerous students in this college, who has their eyes on me.

I was so tired due to the previous day's activities, so I woke up late. Infact, I had no intentions of waking up, if not Piper who kept playing loud music, and almost destroyed my eardrum.

Today was the fresher's party, and she couldn't be less excited.

I can't say I'm not as excited as she was, but hers, was hyper.

Like she said last night, she couldn't wait to see hot college boys, and same goes for me.

I might not say it out loud, but I also can't wait to feed my eyes tonight.

It was a Saturday morning, so it is a lecture-free day.

“ How about we go for some shopping for tonight's party?” Piper suddenly asked.

“ Why? I'm not interested.” Savannah whose head was buried in her books, spoke up, declining the offer as soon as it was said.

“ What about you, Ember?” She looked at me with her doe eyes, literally begging me to come along.

“ Sure.” I flashed her a smile, and she grinned.

“ Since Ember is coming, Savannah, you're also coming along.” Piper said, resting her hands on her waist like a mama bear.

“ I don't want to.” Savannah declined once again.

“ You're so boring, tsk!” Piper walked towards her and grabbed her book roughly from her.

Her eyes widened as she gasped, her gazed fixed on the book which Savannah has been so engrossed in, that she would rather read all day than to have fun with us.

“ What is it?” I couldn't hide my curiosity as I joined her to read the book.

“ Holy. Hell!’ I gasped, dragging my gaze from the book to Savannah whose face turned flushed with embarrassment.

“ You're a baddie in the making, Savannah!” Piper gasped, her hand flying to her mouth. “ I thought I was the bitch among us, but you're no saint yourself!”

“ Give me back my book!” Savannah muttered, standing up from her bed to take the book from us.

“ No, we won't!” We both said in a teasing voice, as we laughed.

“ Okay fine, I will come with you both, so give me back the book.” Savannah finally gave in.

“ Good.” Piper rolled her eyes and gave the book back to her.

“ Is it a bad thing to read such a book?” Savannah said, pushing her glasses from the bridge if her nose back to her eyes.

“ No, it isn't.” Piper shrugged.

“ Is it only me who has never watched or read books with sex scenes and all that?” I asked slowly, my cheeks heating up, as both girls turned sharply towards me.

“ Are you for real?” Piper asked, her eyes wide.

“ Yes. My parents wouldn't let me and my brother's also said I'm not of age yet.” I muttered, biting my lower lips.

“ Goodness! You're twenty years!” Savannah's voice was higher than usual.

It seems they couldn't believe what I had just said. I couldn't believe it either.

I'm a young adult, yet, I haven't had my first kiss, let alone read about sex scenes.

It may seem ridiculous to others, but it was normal to me.

No boy was allowed to crush on me, let alone ask me out. Kain and Thane would beat the crap out of him.

“ Thank goodness I don't have an older brother “ Piper puffed. “ Life would have been hard.”

“ I feel for you.” Savannah shook her head.

“ Enough with the empathy, let's get dressed and go for some shopping.” I was quick to change the topic.

I didn't want think about it anymore.

Being born as a princess to a family filled with me, was nothing to boost about, and it is the worst experience ever.

Soon, we got dressed and I had to call Thane to inform him that I would be leaving with my room mates for some shopping.

Kain would never let me leave, not in this lifetime or the next. So basically, Thane was the best option.

Upon getting to the mall where we came to shop, Piper and Savannah left to find out dress, while I stood in a corner waiting for them.

While seated, waiting for them, I felt eyes on me and it was making me uncomfortable.

Something primal inside my brain urged me to turn around and take a look, but I didn't had the gut. I couldn't.

The cold look of the person staring at me was digging hole at my back, and the hair at the back of my neck stood at alert.

I decided to turn and take sneak peak. It wouldn't hurt, would it?

Air whooshed out of my lung upon seeing Sin staring deep into my eyes.

My body goes rigid under his notorious gaze, and my lungs ached as I tried to catch my breath.

There he stood, a lethal handsome devil, in a black leather jacket and pants, with his hands inside his pocket.

His deep blue eyes sent freezing air across my body, and his tongue swiped across his lips with a silver lips ring, dancing on his lips.
