chapter 2 - Nagging

Emmie knew her gray office outfit was probably too dark and boring to match hers. She always wears a knee-length Aline shirt, and paired with a white blouse, it looks professional, but not attractive. She remembered the buttons on her blouse and quickly buttoned them up to her throat.

She was surprised when he noticed and commented on her clothes. She had always thought that he was too busy with his computer to pay attention to anything else.

"What?" She urged him to explain.

"Or learn the benefits of exposing your skin. By the way, you should leave the buttons on your blouse open. It's much better."

"Uh. You know what? With a computer all day. "

" Hah, I'm still a man, remember? Furthermore, what man doesn't like to look at a woman's breasts? "

" It sounds like you're familiar with other types of Internet sites. "There's no need to be shy."

"I don't mind," Emmie said through clenched teeth.

She feels her anger rising and she refuses to back down.

"But there's a difference between being rude and having an intellectual conversation."

"You should brag more. No man cares about your intelligence. "

" You are such a chauvinist pig!

Jake laughed.

“I am like any other warm-blooded man. Division is a lot more interesting than a brain. "

" Ha! So you admit that you are easily fooled? "

" No, but that helps provide a nice view. "

" It seems that men in general are completely stupid, if you ask me, "Emmie defiant.

." Never underestimate your instincts,” laughs Jake. “I have a hunch why women deserve to be in bed. "

" Oh my god! Looks like you're using the wrong brain. What happened to rational thinking and weighing the pros and cons? "

" Nope. If she can't indulge me, then there's no point in doing anything else. deal with stupid problems,” he said, glaring at her.

“IT guys really need to work on their manners. You are supposed to be helpful. "

" Show more skin and you'll be surprised how helpful I can be", Jake suggested with a smug grin

" That proves what I mean. You have to take your mind off the porn sites and focus on your salary,” said Emmie.

“Do you think so? "

" Yes. It's like you would expect me to crawl to find your help. "

" Good idea. When will you start? "

" Forget it! I would rather eat bugs.

Jake just laughed heartily, and Emmie felt more bored than ever.

“Oh, whatever. I was just going to borrow someone else's phone because you weren't helping me,” Emmie turned around and started to pull away, rounding her waist again and hurling her onto Irene's chair. "Will you just stop manhandling me like that!" Emmie sputtered as she jumped up from the chair again.

"It`s not my problem that you move too slow. But since the problem seems to be solved, you should finish that report."

"Report?"

"Yes, the report that you were nagging about. Maybe it wasn't so urgent after all?" Jake asked while he lifted his eyebrow in a telltale movement. "Or would you rather that I manhandle you in a more interesting way before I go?"

Emmie gasped as she took in his meaning. He made her uncomfortable. As he always does.

"Forget it. I have more important things to do than talk to you," said Emmie.

"Wonderful," Jake smiled and shrugged.

He walked passed her and gave her bottom a pat as he did.

"Feel free to call me next time you've a problem. I'll bring pen and paper."

Emmie gave an affronted sound, as she watched his broad back as he briskly walked away.

Damn the man. He always made her feel like an idiot.

Plus, Jake was smiling. It's not good, Emmie thought. He has absolutely no personality.

And she finally got noticed, even though she tried to stay under the radar. Thanks to Irene, they will never get help from IT again.

Emmie sighed and turned to her computer.

She quickly adjusted the lights and started working on her report. How many more favors will Irene ask her before she finds a suitor? Emmie hoped this was the last time. Today their discussion suddenly turned sexual, and she wasn't sure that would be a good idea.

It's only a matter of time before Jake sees their theater, and then he'll have every reason to be angry. She wanted to stay away from him when that happened. Why does such a handsome guy have to be so annoying?

***

Jake returned to his room and noticed that all his colleagues were gone. Featured. They probably went to lunch. A glimpse of time confirmed his suspicions. The idiot did it again. I took him on a picnic just before lunchtime. Something happened here.

A pattern seemed to appear, and he had little doubt as to its cause. At first, it seemed like pretty normal support calls, but lately they seem more complicated.

He had wondered if it was him that she wanted to meet, but she had never suggested it to him. In fact, she didn't seem to like him very much, though for a brief moment she melted into him as he lifted her up. He smiled at that thought. Maybe there's a spark of interest after all.

Then he discovered that Irene seemed very attracted to his colleague Dave, and he put two and two together, and realized that it was all a cut.

He hates being teased, and he's decided to annoy her a little more. Maybe then she would stop wasting his time.

In fact, today's encounter has taught him that there is much more to his early, gray descendant. It's almost as if there's some sort of more primitive man underneath. At least there's some benefit to all those nagging and weird mistakes.

And he discovered he liked to massage it the wrong way and watch her spine straighten. She's much more interesting when she warms up a bit.

An alarm sounded from the cell phone. Damn, one of the servers went down.

He dashes into the canteen and grabs a sandwich before heading to the server room.

***

After restarting the server and making sure it was up and running, Jake finally had some free time. A headache began to form and he realized he had forgotten to drink coffee. He walked over to the coffee machine when another call came in in his cell.

Her again? Those weeks of support were a nightmare, Jake thought. Never a spare moment. He drank coffee before going to an office he knew very well.

***

"Are you trying to break a record?" Jake asked grumpily as he stood in the doorway and took a sip of his coffee.

"No?" Emmie replied that she did not understand what he meant.

"So, are you just trying to ruin my day? What crazy problem are you having this time?" Chapter

"Cheating? You're in the wrong department. Here we have only clever matters,” retorted Emmie.

“This has just been marked on the media: 'Computer error', and your name again.

"Can't be me." Who reported it? "

" Ah, Irene, again. "

" Here's yours. Not me. And as you can see, there is no problem here.

Jake looks at his computer screen.

"So you turned it back on?"

"No thanks, sir. But since we use the upper brain instead of the lower brain, I understand."

"Let me guess, did you turn the power off and try to turn it back on?"

Emmie feels offended. But, after all, she's gone to great lengths to prove to him how stupid she is, so it's not surprising that he's finally convinced of the truth. She wanted to take him down once and for all, and she knew the solution: the element of surprise.

"Oh yeah, my high heels probably did this."

Jake looked down at his feet, probably recognizing a pair of low-cut loafers. Emmie knew it was for comfort rather than fashion, and he didn't seem convinced.

"Which heels?"

"My evening shoes. I only wear them when I leave work."

"May I see?"

"Sorry, they're at home."

"Too bad. You should bring them tomorrow."

"Don't you think so?"

"Yes, high heels make a woman sexier."

"Is this true?"

"Try it and you'll see."

"Wow, thanks for the great advice. I never thought I'd have to talk to the help desk for fashion advice."

"Every man knows sex appeal."

"I'm gonna damn it. And then I think you guys are computer nerds just blown away by processors and graphics cards.

Now he looks completely stunned for a moment.

"How did you learn to talk so sexy?" he asked.

“I learn fast, remember?” Emmie spoke softly, but knew she had just blown up her own blanket like a stupid user who knew nothing about her. She could almost feel the heat radiating from her body and she looked at his muscular thighs under his jeans.

She rolled her eyes upward, quickly moving away from the delightful protrusion of his crotch, before seeing his muscular arms draped over his blue shirt.

He had rolled up his sleeves, and she watched in amazement at how his tanned skin moved and his muscles tensed as he placed some of his weight on her arm.

He looked at her with an unkind look, as if trying to analyze her thoughts and mind down to the smallest detail.

"You seem to have more than you can imagine, ma'am. I wonder what else is she hiding behind that dark facade? "

He slowly moved his hand down her arm, lightly touching her skin. Emmie jumped up from her chair and backed away from his temptation. She was more in sight. With him. He was. He's too tall, she knows, but sitting down makes her feel really small compared to him

"If that's the case, I doubt you're part of the process," Emmie replied.

"Never say never," he smirked, before grabbing his coffee and walking away.

The next day, a call to the help desk. Dave examined it and smiled widely.

"Hey, Jake," he yelled at his colleague.

"What?" Jake wondered.

"Your favorite users still need your help."

"Which one?"

"Emmie, of course. Do you have more than one dress chasing you? "

Jake groans.

" Her again? "

" I think she has a crush on you, man. "She has the record for the most support calls. What other reason for his enthusiasm?

Jake knows exactly what the reason is, but Dave doesn't care. He can do it on his own. find that out.

"What did she do this time?"

“The printer hangs. And listen to this. She wrote, "Don't send Jake". Fun. Does she want to help? "

Dave laughs.

" Okay, so you can take care of it this time," Jake concluded.

"No. I can't spoil her fun. Mesmerize her with your charms, man."

Jake just whispered something before heading out the door.

***

“So what is the problem this time? Jake asked Emmie when he met her in the printing room.

"You again? No one else working in the help desk? "

" Sure, but you scared them off. "

" For god's sake, "Emmie replied, 'I'm not scary. "

" Plus, they tend to cram all your requests on my knees, so I'm not surprised. They think you love me. "

" Do they think so? Seems like a bunch of idiots. "

" Ouch. You shouldn't play with my feelings. I could go crazy, "Jake protested.

" Are you going to help me or not? "Emmie wondered.

" You have a real problem this time, you mean? "

" Sure enough. If not, I wouldn't mind. Asking your IT staff for help is like getting water from ice. "

" Not if it's really urgent. Or in mortal danger. »

« If it was in danger of dying, I would have called another number. "

" I see you didn't listen to my advice on clones, "Jake interrupted, looking down at his button-down blouse." Are you a fashion cop or a support worker? I don't need your help in the fashion department. "

" I can be very useful for a number of things," suggests Jake. A warm-blooded woman like you should show more skin. "

" Oh, and how does that help me? When you have a cold? "

" You will have men around you. It's not that difficult to ask the IT department for help. "

" Oh, so that's what it takes to get your guys going, "Emmie fumed." Let me test the theory right away so we can rule that out," said Emmie as she began to undo the first two buttons of her blouse.

She noticed that Jake was very attentive.

" You should make two more," he suggests.

"Then you'll see my bra."

"Even better."

He challenged her. Challenge her to follow his advice. He thought that she wouldn't dare and one day she wouldn't even think about it.
