Chapter 7

Eleonora was having her lunch alone. Zanvil didn't come home last night. She sent her in laws home saying that he had called her and he would come home a little late which was an absolute lie. He never called her.

She was so upset with his behaviour. He didn't even bother to check on her after such a big news.

In the privious day she had called her mother and told her about her pregnancy. Her mother was so happy for her. She wanted to come to her. She had an emotional conversion with her mother. She then talked to her siblings. They were so happy. They wanted to meet her. It's been so long already.

After talking to her family she felt at ease.

She had an appointment with the doctor that day  which Samantha fixed for her. She told her that  Zanvil would accompany her. She was waiting for Zanvil to come home. It's almost time. What if he didn't come? Would she have to go alone?

No. He would definitely come and take her. It's their baby after all. She tried to ressure herself.

She come out of her thoughts when Rose came and informed her that her husband came home. After finishing her food she quickly went to his room.

She knocked on his bedroom door and waited for him to open it.

After sometime Zanvil opened the door and when he noticed it was her his eyes turned cold.

"What do you want?" He asked her coldly

Nora was shocked by his behavior. She didn't know how to response for a while. Didn't he know she was pregnant and he was going to be a father? Didn't Samantha inform him about her appointment with the doctor?

Today is my  first appointment with the doctor. Will accompany me? She asked him softly.

" No." Came his cold voice.

She looked at him instantly and searched for any trace of joke or fun. But she didn't find any. He was still looking at her coldly. What's wrong with him? How could he say that?

"B-but mom told me that you w-" she didn't get to finish her sentence when he had cut her.

"I'm busy. I don't have any time. You can take Bill with you" He said looking bored. Take Bill with her? Who was the father of her child? Bill or him? Nora laughed in her head. She is so stupid.

She smiled at him and nodded her head in understanding. She turned around to leave from there. She heard the sound of door shutting. Finally few drops of tears came out of her eyes. It was clear with his behavior that he didn't want the baby.  She and her baby both were unwanted in his life. She quickly wiped her tears away and smiled at herself in encouragement. What if he didn't accompany her? What's the big deal. She could handle herself and her baby alone. It would have been good if he was beside her but if he wasn't that didn't change anything. She was storng enough.

While her tears kept flowing nonstop. It's  ok. It's ok. It's  ok. It's ok. It's ok. Damn It's not ok but still It's ok. She got it. She could handle it.

She tried to be an understanding wife but she couldn't make peace with her heart.

With a heavy heart she got ready she went to the doctor for her first appointment alone. She didn't bother taking Bill with her.

Eleonora's appointment with the doctor went well. The baby was fine.  It was like a tiny bean. But the doctor said there's something unusual with it. But she didn't mind as long as her baby was safe and healthy. She thanked the doctor and left.

She was going to a grocery store  before going home. She entered in the shop and brought a lots of ice cream and chocolate. She was craving for them. 

When she came home Zanvil was still there.

After getting freshen up she went to cook some dinner. Only cooking and gardening could get her relief. Her room and balcony had  lots of plants. She loved to take care of her plants.

She was setting the table when her husband came down for dinner. He didn't say anything to her nor asked about the baby. He could have  at least ask about the baby. But he didn't.

She served him and took a seat opposite to him then served herself some food.

"The appointment went well and the baby is fine. Though she said there's something unusual but there's nothing to worry" She informed him in a soft tone. But he didn't say anything. He kept eating quietly while ignoring her.

Nora didn't know what to say anymore. But she still tried to make a conversation.

"I have baked some cupcakes. Do you want to try some? It isn't that bad. I would prefer the peanut butter one. There's also blueberry, chocolate and mango flavor? Which one do you want?" She asked non-stop. She waited for his reply but he didn't open his mouth instead kept eating. He didn't even look at her. Nora's heart clenched. She didn't say anything but kept eating her food with a heavy heart. Was it so hard to talk to her a little? She didn't have much people to talk since she had moved in here.

After eating his dinner Zanvil got up and left from there without bothering to look behind.

Eleonora was now 4 month pregnant and her baby bump was now showing a little. Zanvil's behaviour towards her and their baby didn't change a bit. He was as cold as ice.

But one thing had changed and that was he started to come home early and regularly. In those months her in laws visited her a lot. But her family couldn't. They lived far away. She talked to them over phone and Skype. She missed them so much.

She wanted to go home and lay on her mother's lap. She wanted to fight with her siblings, cook for them and wait for them to insult or complement her, watch movie with them but she couldn't.

At that time Nora was walking on the beach and collecting seashells. Yesterday night there was a little storm and that's why she came here today. She knew she would find a lot of seashells today.  She looked at he morning sky. She enjoyed sunrise more than sunset. Sunrise meant a bright day ahead without any darkness. But with sunset came darkness. She was so afraid of darkness that she lost the ability to appreciate the britghtest Moon and twinkling stars. For her not always she could find the stars in the sky. Not always the moon was present on the pitch black night's sky. But with sunrise she didn't have to be afraid as long as there's sunrise there won't be any darkness.

Nora felt the soft morning wind touch her face. Her open hair floated with the wind. She took a deep breath in the fresh air. She smiled brightly when she found a beautiful white seashell. 

"Look Baby I found a beautiful seashell." She talked to her baby. Now she didn't feel alone. She had her baby. She always talked to him.

"I will show it to you when you come out of Mama's womb, okay? There's many more. You can take care of them on Mama's behalf when you come in Mama's arms." She whispers to her stomach and caressed it affectionately.
