Chapter two: Meeting the hot headed-rugged rich boy

I entered the apartment, thinking I was alone, normally this time Mandy is still out. Either she is still working out or out with a guy. But to my surprise, I found her standing in the kitchen.

“Hey.” I greeted while removing my scarf from my neck. “Hey, aren’t you working today?” She asked, sounding a little bit weird, was she nervous? “I worked the early shift,” I replied, frowning when I heard footsteps coming from the passageway. I turned my head and found a guy walking towards us, he was only dressed in a pair of jeans. I looked at her who was trying to hide her humiliation behind her cup of coffee. “Cam, this is Keegan.” She introduced.

I looked at him and found him smiling at me. She sure knew how to pick them. “Your zip.” I said motioning towards his unzipped pants. He immediately reached for the zip and pulled it up.

I looked at her, stifling a laugh as I realized what was going on. “I’m going to get myself some dinner, guess you won’t be needing as you already skipped through to dessert.” I watched her face flush from further humiliation, that it actually made me smile. “See you later,” I said grabbing my bike keys from the countertop. “Enjoy,” I said looking at the guy before looking at her. I walked out of the apartment letting out a snicker.

I walked towards the closest small, drive-in restaurant. It was only a few blocks away from the apartment. It was one of my favorites since it opened six months ago. All their meat was barbequed, everything was served with a side of chips. I placed my order and waited patiently for my food. I rested my back against the side of the counter, arms, and ankles folded.

"Camille." Jerry called, holding out my plate out to me. "Nice to see you, again kiddo." He greeted. "Yeah, well. My roommate is up to no good, again." He chuckled, shaking his head. "It feels like you only come here, to hide."

"I love your food but if I came here often, I will start rolling instead of walking." Jerry only shook his head at me and helped the other waiting customers. I picked up my plate and started looking for an empty seat. I raised my head just in time to miss a collision. "Seems like we keep on meeting like this," Corbin said, smirking.

"And suddenly, I am not in the mood for my food anymore," I muttered with a bitter taste in my mouth.

"I'm sure, I taste better." He replied, with a wink.

"Seems, like the rumors are not far off about you," I told him, trying to push past him.

"That I am attractive, good-looking, and a sex god?" He asked, not realizing that I was not in the mood for him.

"No, ignorant." I finally, got away from him and took a seat. I didn't expect company. It seems as if Corbin followed me to my table. "It seems as if you don't know much about females," I said, picking up my barbequed rib burger and taking a bite from it. I looked at him, while I chewed.

"Then how do you explain, all the girls flocking around me?"

I nodded and pulled my mouth to the side. "Or maybe it is them who has a brain as small as a fingernail." Corbin quirked an eyebrow. "You don't like me very much." He noted.

"Wow, your common knowledge actually works," I said, taking another bite from my burger.

“Camille, right?” He asked, lowering himself onto the seat opposite of me. "And, who did you pay off to get that little bit of information?" I asked, wiping off my mouth with a serviette.

"I get the feeling that you think, I was born brain dead." I shrugged. "Well, sweetheart. I don't have to pay off someone to know who you are. Camille Roux." I raised an eyebrow slowly. "Just because I have an ass and boobs, you know my name." He leaned back into his chair, pushed his long legs out in front of him while he let out a chuckle.

"I will agree, you do have a very nice ass." I rolled my eyes at his remark. "But knowing your name isn't that difficult. You're the girl, who decides to be different than the rest of the girls. You're a loner. You chose to be an outcast. And it seems, you just don't care what people think and say about you."

"You know that sounds a little bit stalkerish, right?" He just looked at me.

“You still owe me an apology for walking into me, I know I am a chick magnet but normally I am the one who struggles to get them off of me.” He suddenly said, changing the subject.

“I already said I was sorry and you know what, you too could have watched where you were going.” I got a little bit worried when I saw the look on his face. “Where have you been all my life?” I sure as hell didn’t like where this was heading.

“Definitely not around you.” Maybe I could have been a little bit harsher just to make my point but he would only feel as if he was winning.

“It feels like I have to change my game.” I quirked an eyebrow. “Let me guess. You normally date the tall blondes, with breasts the size of your hands even though they are too overpowering and get in the way. Or is it Brunettes? Either way, I am not like those girls you chat up and take home with you.”

“I normally don’t take them home.” He said with a shrug.

“You are disgusting.” He didn’t look as if he bothered him. “Girl’s like a man with a dirty mind.” He said with a wink. "But it seems, you like the ones that get straight A's." I set my mouth into a hard line and looked him dead in the eyes. "First, you don't know what I want. And secondly, that option will never be you." I pushed my plate aside, stood up from the chair.

Corbin just looked at me. "I didn't mean to spoil your dinner."

"It's too late. You spoiled it the moment you walked into me." I just walked off, not giving him a second glance.

I didn’t bother checking to see if Mandy was home, I went straight for my bedroom ignoring this weird feeling I had. I tried to warm up my arms when I took off my shirt, the scratches on my arms started to itch. I hate looking at them but they are a constant reminder of who I used to be. Corbin thinks that I am all that but if he only knew the truth he would be disgusted.
