Chapter 6

Mary screamed and cried and not even the pain she felt made her forget about the little boy in that abandoned trailer and she knew he was going to feel like he was alone in this world once again.

Jason - You won't want to go out, girl... it's almost dusk...

Mary - Please, by God I passed out for a long time...let go. Let me go!

Jason - Is there someone waiting for you outside?

He was afraid that some man might be waiting for her out there, which for him would almost certainly be... what would such a beautiful young woman do wandering around alone and helpless?

Jason - You need to come with me now, so the monsters won't reach us.

Slowly he manages to gain her trust, takes the boy in his arms, sees the backpack that should have belonged to that young woman, and takes it too.

He runs at a run because he can already hear the footsteps of the creatures through the forest. Then she takes Victor Davy in her arms again entering the farm, Mary was still tied to the bed and consuming herself with anxiety, still feeling the pain of the punch she took hours ago. When she hears the key being put in the door and it opens, it was Jason with Victor Davy in her arms. Mary cried to see him saved at the same time that she feared for herself.

Jason - As I promised, here is the boy.

"I knew he had sought out Victor to impress me and somehow gain my trust, I could already feel what he wanted as soon as I saw how he looked at me. I was looking for a way out before it was too late."

He puts the boy down and he runs to Mary, hugs the girl who was still tied up, he calms down to see her because she was his protector and the only one he could turn to.

"If my children could be lucky enough to be here, I would give anything so that instead of this boy I could have brought them with me that night!"

she asks, afraid of the answer and he comes back from that thought that had transported him away for a few moments. Jason sighs and answers...

He came over and put his knee on the bed facing her, stretched out the hand that was still injured from the cut she had made, and untied it. She gets up and feels her visions darken, she hasn't slept or eaten in hours. Mary - Get away from me!

She screamed coming back from the faint and getting out of his arms and with the fright, the little boy cried.

Jason - Would you prefer that I let you fall to the ground?

Mary - I just don't want you to touch me again, ever!

He smiled awkwardly.

Jason - That must be hunger, I'm going to prepare dinner.
