Chapter 6

Mary screamed and cried and not even the pain she felt made her forget about the little boy in that abandoned trailer and she knew he was going to feel like he was alone in this world once again.

Jason - You won't want to go out, girl... it's almost dusk...

Mary - Please, by God I passed out for a long time...let go. Let me go!

Jason - Is there someone waiting for you outside?

He was afraid that some man might be waiting for her out there, which for him would almost certainly be... what would such a beautiful young woman do wandering around alone and helpless?

Mary - Yes...yes! Let me go. Keep your corn I just want to go out, forgive me...forgive me for stealing it before, he's just a baby and he's all alone!

She cried.

-A baby? Where is he?

Asked Jason and he seemed to be very calm as she cried and struggled.

Mary - I left him in an abandoned trailer behind your farm. Let me go and keep him, they'll kill him when night comes!

Mary - Are you alone?

Jason wanted to confirm that it was just the two of them and that he could keep her.

Mary - Yes...it's just us!

She regretted saying it, but the worst had already happened and he had already seen her face and now knew she was vulnerable. She was still crying not knowing what would become of them from now on.

-I've lived here for months and I know all these bands, I know where the trailer is. I'll get the child for you.

Says Jason changing his boots and checking the bullets in the revolver that was always on his waist. Mary felt scared to see that he was armed.

Mary - Am I going to be tied up here? Let me go along, he won't want to come with you I'm all he's got now!

Jason - What is his name?

Mary - Victor Davy.

The answer was still distressed.

Jason - I'll get Victor Davy and you'll be quiet and safe here.

Mary - Please don't leave me here!

Jason leaves leaving her tied up and locked in the room, she was crying in that bed, the sun was setting because she had passed out in that bed and stayed there all day, she could see through the window and the boy was alone for hours and must have thought it had been again abandoned.

Jason leaves the farm carrying a torch, runs to the place and from afar he heard the cry of the little boy inside the trailer. He enters and the little one huddles in the back of the trailer.

Jason - You need to come with me now, so the monsters won't reach us.

Slowly he manages to gain her trust, takes the boy in his arms, sees the backpack that should have belonged to that young woman, and takes it too.

He runs at a run because he can already hear the footsteps of the creatures through the forest. He enters the farm closing the fence almost in the face of one of the monsters who’s face was already decomposing, throws her backpack on the ground, and goes down to the boy who was still crying scared, Jason was lighting the torches around the farm to scare away the transformed that they arrived attracted by the sound of the boy's crying.

He enters the farm closing the fence almost in the face of one of the monsters whose face was already decomposing, throws her backpack on the ground, and goes down to the boy who was still crying scared, Jason was lighting the torches around the farm to flee...

Then she takes Victor Davy in her arms again entering the farm, Mary was still tied to the bed and consuming herself with anxiety, still feeling the pain of the punch she took hours ago. When she hears the key being put in the door and it opens, it was Jason with Victor Davy in her arms. Mary cried to see him saved at the same time that she feared for herself.

Jason - As I promised, here is the boy.

"I knew he had sought out Victor to impress me and somehow gain my trust, I could already feel what he wanted as soon as I saw how he looked at me. I was looking for a way out before it was too late."

He puts the boy down and he runs to Mary, hugs the girl who was still tied up, he calms down to see her because she was his protector and the only one he could turn to.

"If my children could be lucky enough to be here, I would give anything so that instead of this boy I could have brought them with me that night!"

Mary - Thank God... and now... are you going to let me go? Are you listening to me?

she asks, afraid of the answer and he comes back from that thought that had transported him away for a few moments. Jason sighs and answers...

Jason - First, tell me that you'll keep calm and won't do anything silly...

Mary - I promise!

Jason - So that's right.

He came over and put his knee on the bed facing her, stretched out the hand that was still injured from the cut she had made, and untied it. She gets up and feels her visions darken, she hasn't slept or eaten in hours. Jason held her by the waist, leaning his body against hers, and felt that strong sexual attraction awaken, she weakened and almost fell on top of the boy who didn't let go of her.

Mary - Get away from me!

She screamed coming back from the faint and getting out of his arms and with the fright, the little boy cried.

Jason - Would you prefer that I let you fall to the ground?

Mary - I just don't want you to touch me again, ever!

He smiled awkwardly.

Jason - That must be hunger, I'm going to prepare dinner.
