Chapter 1

"You're going to marry him, Nina. Aren't you going to oppose it, huh?" Mia asked her best friend Nina. She visits her friend in her condo unit where she permanently lives after her father died three years ago. Nina moved to the condo unit to forget the memories of her beloved parents to their house. She sold it one month after her father died. Nina licks her lips and breathes deeply.

"I'll not oppose it," Nina said slowly as she remembers what happened to her father three years ago.

"Why wouldn't you oppose with their plan, huh? They wanted to marry you and I couldn't understand what's going on in their minds," Mia said, confused.

Nina knows that they had planned, so she had her own plan, too. She doesn't want to marry the son of the man who she believed killed her father, but she should agree to have a revenge against with them. She wants justice for her beloved father. It's been three years have passed, but the justice hasn't been served yet. Nina rolled her eyes and gasped loudly.

"I have a plan, Mia," she said slowly.

"W-what? What did you say? You have a plan, huh?" Mia asked her. Nina shook her head and smiled evilly.

"Yes, Mia. I have a plan for them," she confirmed.

"What's your plan, Nina? I want to know," she said.

"Justice hasn't been served yet, right? It's been three years, but there's no justice for my beloved father. I don't want to end with this without the justice my beloved father deserves. Those people who killed him should be punished. I'll send them to the prison. I won't stop, Mia. I won't stop seeking for the justice! My plan is to have a revenge against them. They killed my beloved father. They're the culprits. They deserve to be punished. I'll accept the wedding proposal. I'll marry Luke even though I hate him," Nina explained to her.

Mia understands her. She didn't say anything, but to say good luck to her plan to have a revenge against them. She knows that having a revenge isn't good, but she couldn't stop her friend with her plan. She knows the reasons why she really wants to revenge against them because of her beloved father who killed three years ago. The justice hasn't been served yet. The people who killed her beloved father aren't in the prison yet.

"I know that you want justice for your beloved father and I will support you with your actions, Nina. Good luck with your plan," Mia said smiling as she looked at her eyes.

"Thank you for your support, Mia," Nina said.

Mia smiled. "You're always welcome. May you find the justice you want to have. Good luck, Nina. You always have me, okay? You're not alone." Nina gave her a wide smile and nod obediently. They both hugged each other.

Nina woke up early the next day. She'll have a lunch with the son of the man he thought who killed her beloved father. She quickly went to the shower. She prepared for her breakfast. She wasn't excited to meet him again, but she needs to.

Luke is waiting for her when she arrives at the restaurant. She didn't greet him. She quickly sits on the chair and looked at him seriously.

"You choose the food you want to eat. I'll pay for it," Luke said slowly as he handed the menu to her. Nina grabbed the menu and choose the food she wants to eat for their lunch.

"Okay. How long have you been waiting for me here, huh?" Nina asked him with no emotions on her face. Luke lifts his head slowly and faced her.

"I've been waiting for you for almost thirty minutes, Nina," he said.

Nina rolled her eyes before she speaks to him. "Oh, really? Aren't you bored waiting for me here?" She replied.

Luke gasped. "Why would I be bored waiting for you, huh?"

"I'm only asking, Luke. Is it bad to ask, huh?" Nina said sarcastically. He grimaced bitterly.

"It wasn't bad, Nina. Anyway, are you done choosing the food you want to eat?" Luke answered.

"Yes, I'll choose this one," she said, pointing the order she wants to eat for their lunch.

"Okay." The waiter left them as they finished choosing the food they want to eat for their lunch. Their orders will be served in a few minutes.

Luke cleared his throat and speaks to her slowly. "I want to ask you, Nina," he said.

"What is it?" Nina asked even if she knows what it is all about.

"It's about the wedding proposal, Nina. Two weeks is enough for you to think about it. Maybe you have a decision now. Do you want to marry me, Nina?" Luke asked the woman he would marry soon.

Minutes had passed before she speaks to him.

"Do you want to hear my decision, huh?" Nina asked him with disgust on her face.

"Yes, I want to hear it, Nina. That's the reason why I want to have lunch with you so we could talk about it. Do you want to marry me, huh?" Luke answered immediately.

Nina sighed deeply. "Yes, I will marry you. When will it happen, huh?" She said, agreeing with him to marry him soon.

"Good to hear from you, Nina. What do you mean by that, huh?" Luke answered. His face lit up as he heard her accepting the wedding proposal.

"The wedding, Luke. When will it happen, huh? I want to know so I could prepare for it. I want to know when will our wedding happen," Nina said clearly.

"There's no specific date for our wedding, but it'll happen next month. We still have ten days before this month ends, right? Now that you have accepted our wedding proposal, we can talk about it. We'll talk about the date of our wedding and other important matters. Where do you want to marry me? Do you want to marry me at the church or beach? You have the freedom to choose. We'll give you that freedom, Nina," Luke explained to her.

"I want a simple wedding, Luke. Maybe we could do this at the church. A simple wedding is enough for me, okay? I'm not a too ambitious woman, but if you want to waste your money for that wedding, it's your decision. You can marry me wherever you want," Nina told him. "The final decision will be yours."

Luke nodded. "Okay. I'll tell my dad about it. Don't worry, Nina. Maybe tomorrow I'll invite you to come to our mansion to discuss it with my parents, especially my dad. Is it okay with you to come to our mansion, huh? You don't have to be shy. You're welcome there."

Nina gasped. "I'll come to your mansion, don't worry. I accepted the wedding proposal so it means I would go there. Before our conversation takes longer, I want to ask you."

"What do you want to ask me, Nina?" He asked. Nina is about to speak to him, but the waiter arrives. He served their orders and she forgets to ask him about it until they separated ways. Until now, she couldn't understand why they wanted to marry her. Are they planning something against her? If they're planning something against her, she's planning something against them, too.

Nina went straight to the house of her best friend Mia after she had a lunch with him. She tells everything to her. Mia wasn't surprised to hear that she accepted the wedding proposal because she knew already that before she had lunch with him.

"I hope your plan will become successful, Nina," Mia told her best friend. "When will it happen, huh?"

Nina shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know. We haven't talked about it yet. Luke is inviting me to come to their mansion tomorrow to discuss it with his parents. Maybe we'll know tomorrow." There's no emotion on her face as she said it to her best friend.

Mia nods quickly. "Good luck, Nina. You'll see them again tomorrow. You'll remember again what happened to your beloved father for sure. Can you look at their eyes?" Mia told her.

"Why wouldn't I? I can look at their eyes, Mia. I have no mistakes, right? I didn't kill someone. I'm not guilty. The people who can't look directly to someone is guilty with their crimes, and I believe in that. I'm not even scared with them. If they're planning something against me, I'm ready to face them," Nina said bravely.

"You're right, Nina. Why would you be scared with them? If there are people who would be scared with you, they're that people," Mia said smiling evilly.

Nina nods. "Exactly. Why would I be scared?"

Nina went to the mansion of the family she hated the most. She doesn't want to go there, but she needs to. It's part of her plan, so she should force herself to be there. She had accepted already the wedding proposal, and she should be there with him as her soon to be husband. She totally faked her smile to his parents. She dislikes them, but it wasn't the right time for her to show up that she still angry with them. Nina should pretend that she forgets everything and she's now in the process of accepting what happened to her beloved father.

They talked about their wedding soon. Nina shouldn't worry about the other matters because Luke's parents could handle it. All she needs is to prepare herself. Luke will buy her a new wedding gown. All the expenses would be paid by his parents. She has nothing to worry.

When they had finished discussing about the wedding and when will it happen, Nina tells them that she should leave now.

As they walked outside the mansion, Luke slowly opened his mouth and speak to her. They stopped walking and faced each other.

"I'm happy that you're no longer mad at my parents, Nina," Luke told her. "I'm happy to see that to you." Nina rolled her eyes before she speaks to him.

"I'm not rude, Luke. I'm just—" Nina stammered as she said it. She didn't finish her sentence because he cut her off.

"What?" Luke asked her quickly.

"I'm just being kind to your parents despite of the issues we had," she said bitterly.

Luke gave her a quick nod. "Oh, thanks for that. Thanks for being kind to my parents," he said.

She grimaced. "Do you think it's true, huh?"

Luke said, "What do you mean by that? Are you pretending kind to my parents, huh?"

Nina didn't speak to him as she heard her telling that question. She looked away from him and mumbled something.

Minutes had passed, but she's not yet answering him, so Luke speaks again.

"Can you hear me what I'm saying, huh?" Luke asked her. "Is it hard for you to answer my questions?"

Nina gave him an irritated look before she continues walking outside their mansion. She has no time to answer it and admit that she's only pretending kind. Luke knows about it, but she really doesn't care anymore. Her plan is her plan and no one can change it.

"I wanna drive you home," he said. "You just tell me where's your house."

She raised her eyebrows before speaking to him. "I'm living in a condo unit," she said harder. "I can go back there alone."

Luke sighed deeply. "No, you can't. I'll drive you, Nina," he insisted.
