Chapter 11 So Handsome

Was it really that easy?

Mr. Mercer was so seriously ill. Could acupuncture really save him?

Hearing Deanna's confident words, Xavier and Ava felt skeptical, but they could only wait in agony.

Xavier wanted to call the hospital several times to contact the doctor directly. He was really worried that something might happen to Mr. Mercer.

He wondered if she was reliable or not.

Unlike their nervousness, Deanna relaxed completely.

It wasn't until then that she began to observe the man in the bed.

The man was extraordinarily handsome, his face pale but with delicate features.

Although she couldn't see his figure clearly, she could tell his muscles were well-defined, beautifully distributed on his slender and robust body, with perfect lines that were irresistibly attractive.

'He's so handsome, like God's masterpiece,' she thought.

Just a glance made Deanna's heart flutter, she silently reminded herself not to stare rudely, turned her gaze away, and stood next to Ava waiting.

Xavier looked at his watch. "Ten minutes have passed."

Deanna stepped forward to remove the needles from him one by one, in order, with a slow and steady pace.

As the last needle left his body, the man on the bed's long eyelashes trembled, and his hand moved slightly.

He woke up.

Xavier was relieved, the tension in his heart eased, and he hurriedly approached, asking, "Mr. Mercer, how do you feel? Is there any discomfort?"

Ava sensibly covered him with the blanket to shield his body.

Lance was still burning up, his face pale, and he felt weak all over when he moved his fingers.

He bit his lip, trying to sit up but feeling weak, his voice weak and hoarse. "What's happening to me?"

Xavier's eyes reddened as he supported him, straightened his clothes, his voice trembling. "Mr. Mercer, you, you were so close to death just now!"

Different from his excitement, Lance just nodded, seeming somewhat numb, and closed his eyes drowsily.

"Mr. Mercer? Miss Jones, could you please check on Mr. Mercer?" He asked Deanna anxiously.

"No worries, it's a normal reaction. He's still feverish and very weak. We need to use physical methods to lower his temperature first. Go wring a wet towel and put it on his forehead, then wipe his body with alcohol. The fever will subside soon." Deanna remained calm and composed, not surprised by his condition.

"Ava, I'll write you a prescription. Go brew some herbs according to the prescription. Boil it for an hour, then give it to him. The last herb in the prescription is in my car. I'll go get it for you now. You go brew the rest first." Ava nodded and immediately followed instructions. Deanna went out to get the herbs and gave them to Ava.

After all the fuss, Deanna was exhausted.

Seeing that there was nothing for her to do here, she finally relaxed.

As she left, she sighed in the direction of the lounge.

She came here to do business, but instead, she ended up with a mess. The person lying there is now her creditor, and she doesn't even know when she'll be able to pay off these debts, yet she's so kind to save him.

She shook her head, didn't say goodbye to anyone, and just turned and left. She'll come back when Old Hughes returns in the afternoon.
