Chapter 8 Sending Mixed Signals

''I have to dance,'' Vivian announced as she took another shot of tequila. She did not wait for Kelly's reply and just head in to the dance floor.

She needed to release stress.

When she found out that her father's decision ruined somebody else's life, she was devastated. Especially if her father was not the only one who made the decision himself. She was there, making decision for the company. She remembered discussing it with her father, they were in her father's office when she was asked if they will continue with the merger.

Vivian was very excited about it as the merger will bring in a lot of money and opportunity to their company. That also means that she can buy more clothes and bags and shoes. She pushed her father to come up with the decision.

''Don't blame yourself, it happens a lot. Running a business is like sailing in the ocean with lots of sharks. It's to eat or be eaten.'' Kelly consoled her when she told her friend of how sorry she felt.

Of course, Kelly was right. Running a business is a do or die and it was not their fault that the family went bankrupt.

''Hey pretty, wanna dance?'' A guy whispered seductively in her ear. She did not agree nor she did decline. She was just grinding against that man's body.

The dancefloor was sweaty and it was wild but Vivian just keeps dancing with the beat. She can feel the man's hands roaming all over her body. Exploring it like he was looking for treasure. She was getting excited with the man's touches when someone grabbed her by her arm and pulled her away from the dancefloor.

Her head was spinning and her hand was aching. Probably from the alcohol she consumed. Some man dragged her out of the club and into the parking lot. Vivian's visions were blurry so she could not identify the man.

''Get in,'' The man ordered her. His voice is somewhat familiar. Like she heard it before. ''Vivian, I told you to get in!''

Vivian does not like being ordered around but because of her current situation, being drunk as hell, she followed the man's order and got in without a fuss. Like an obedient puppy following her master.

The man hopped in the other side and started the engine. Now that her body is slowly recovering, she can clearly see the man who ruined her fun.

''Hey Troy.'' Vivian giggled, ''Such a party pooper.'' She said and then blacked out.

The next morning, she was awoken by the smell of freshly brewed coffee and toast beside her. She was laying on someone else's bed! A familiar scent filled her head and she got up quickly.

She groaned when she felt her head throbbed.

''Hangover?'' Troy asked.

She glanced at him who was standing near the window and was looking outside. He looks so dashing as the ray of sunlight touches his face. Vivian doesn't want to admit that she was already attracted to the man she's marrying so she just rolled her eyes.

''Why did you bring me here?'' She asked as she reached for the freshly brewed coffee.

Troy moved closer to her. She can see his well defined body underneath the thin shirt he was wearing.

''You wanted to come here, don't you remember?'' He answered teasingly. ''You also told me last night how you want to kiss me so bad.'' Troy moved his face closer to Vivian's until their lips are centimeters apart.

Vivian can feel Troy Callahan's breaths brushing against her lips. Her heart started to race and all she can look at is his soft lips.

Before she loses herself, Vivian moved her face away from Troy and pouted.

''Whatever, I don't remember it anyway.'' She whispered which are all true. She doesn't remember anything that happened last night, except that she was dancing one moment with a man and then waking up to a stanger's bed the next morning.

''You dance very well last night, Vivian.'' Troy commented. Vivian's forehead knotted as she analyze if it was a compliment or a sarcasm but the next thing she knew, Troy Callahan was already pinning her against the bed. Their face now closer than earlier and Troy's towering above her.

''I don't appreciate it when someone touches what belongs to me.'' Troy Callahan whispered seductively. Vivian was about to protest when she felt his soft lips against her lips. Troy was kissing her and she's responding with all willingness. ''Remember that Vivian the next time you dance with someone.'' Troy whispered after the kiss.

He walked away with a grin in his lips while she on the other hand, her mouth gaped open and feeling confuse.
