Chapter 12 Trip As A Gift

Vivian walked away feeling victorious. Her chest swelled up with glee. That serves her husband. Troy Callahan should know that no one can make her feel inferior. Back at the reception, Vivian was approached by her parents.

''Oh there you are you two.'' Her mother said.

Vivian turned to see her husband beside her. Troy put his arm around her tiny waist and pulled her over to him. Vivian tried to set herself free but it was no use, her husbands grip was too strong. She glanced at Troy and shot him piercing looks. Troy just smirked at her.

Both her parents chuckled in amusements. Vivian wanted to roll her eyes but she held her anger in. She doesn't want to ruin her parents' night especially now that the two are getting more and more intimate that before. Vivian thought that her marriage with Troy bind her parents closer. And behind all the anger and jealousy the marriage brought her, she was still happy. It wasn't that bad after all.

''What is it Mom?'' Vivian turned to her mother.

Her mother handed her some pink envelope wrapped in a red ribbon. ''This is our wedding gift for the both of you, we want you to see the world as husband and wife now so we are giving you a headstart.''

Curiosity kicked in as she opened the envelope, Vivian's eyes grew wider as she read what it was. ''Mom. Dad. A plane ticket?! A hotel reservation?!'' Vivian gasped and handed over the gift to her husband.

Vivian's Dad nodded and took her hand.

''We really did not know what to give you two, so we figured why not get you something that the two of us would have done before.'' Her Dad said and wiped a tear from the side of his eyes, sensing how emotional her father was, Vivian's mother hugged him and that made her Dad cry some more.

Seriously, her parents had never been so affectionate with each other before. But now that she's seeing them in a new light, she could finally tell herself that her parents really do love each other. Both of them were just too stubborn to admit it. And now, with the circumstances finally pushed them together, Vivian began to feel lighthearted.

After the drama with her parents, Vivian and Troy finally got to the hotel they were going to spend their first night together.

She can see how tired Troy was as he just slumped his back against the soft sofa bed. Vivian shook her head and removed the pins used to style her hair. When she finally got them all, she let her long wavy hair hang free from her shoulder. She caught her husband looking at her and she just smirked at him. Vivian almost laugh aloud when Troy rolled his eyes at her.

''I'll shower first,'' She announced. Troy just groaned in response.

It was very uncomfortable for Vivian showering in the same room with a man just outside the bathroom door. She felt strange and unsafe, even though the man was already her husband. But after the hot water touched her skin, Vivian finally loosen up and enjoyed her bath.

She even forgot that Troy was outside if not for his soft knocks.

''Sorry . . .'' She whispered and quickly ran towards the bed. Her heartbeat was racing and she can feel her cheeks flashed. Vivian quickly covered her body with the thick blanket as she felt the cold air from the air conditioning system passing through her body. She shouldn't have let Violet packed her luggage. Now she doesn't have anything to wear but a skimpy black night gown. The fabric was so thin that Vivian was afraid that she will rip it off accidentally.

She glanced at Troy who seemed to not notice her. He was carefully unbuttoning his shirt. Vivian gulped an imaginary lump in her throat as she savour scenery. She hates it admit it but her husband is dashing.

''Uhm about our trip, do you have any place in mind?'' Vivian asked, trying to start the conversation.

Troy Callahan just glanced at her and coldly said, ''No.'' then got back to what he was doing. Vivian tried to held back her tongue by biting it, that was not the time to be mad. She wanted to end her evening in a peaceful way as possible.

Well then let's try to visit the Stair way to heaven in Hawaii and I also would like to experience Mauna Kea.''

''Okay, what ever you want.''

''Are you even excited with this trip? Or are you going to be cold to me the rest of the trip?'' Vivian wanted to say 'for the rest of our life' but she changed the sentence that she wanted to say. Not to be over dramatic.

''What do you mean?'' Troy asked. Nothing changed with his tone and that infuriated Vivian even more. She wanted to scream at him and get her point across but Vivian suddenly felt fatigue took over her body.

''What ever.'' She just whispered and lie down. Vivian managed to cover her whole body with the blanket. She closed her eyes and with a heavy heart, she went to sleep.
