gaze never left him

Jane Matthew, a very talented artist and fashion designer, really loved art. She was passionate about jewelleries and fashion. Her family's economic status is unknown even to her.  Her parents provide her with everything she needs but never with what she wants. Sometimes she wonders if it was because they couldn't afford it or they just were not caring enough towards her. 

But she knows it definitely is not because they can't afford it; their house alone was proof that her parents were more than just financially stable,  they were rich but don't like living extravagantly. Jane was  forced to leave like this, she knows her parents put limits on everything once she exceeds it she will be on her own.

She trained to be independent and hard working. Jane wasn't one who liked competition, no matter how talented she was she never tried competing with anyone or joining any competition. She just preferred watching them and gaining more insight. 

As usual she decided to go to watch one of the competitions held by the school and this was where her love bloomed. Jane and James Williams met when she was nineteen . It was a coincidental meeting. Jane has always been good with jewellery and cloth designing but she wasn't interested in making a name for herself all she was interested in was creating something beautiful. One day when she went to a design competition with her course mate, she happened to see James Williams there she was dazed by his look. James Williams has always been one with good looks. James Williams was invited to present the awards to the winners. Jane was seated amongst the audience , when James Williams came on stage she felt her heart flutter.

Her heart was racing, she felt faint, this emotion was new to her; she had never felt this way for anyone before. Jane focused her attention on Williams, she stared at him without blinking. Until Williams left the stage Jane Matthew's gaze never left him. Jane Matthew fell in love with Williams at first sight.

After the competition she hurriedly left the venue in hopes that she would get a glimpse of James Williams again but she was too late. Before she got there Williams was already in his car. She got a bit closer to the car making it look as though she was seeing him off. 

Since she was unable to see this damped her sprite. She left the venue sadly . After that day  she couldn't stop thinking about him. 

A Few days after the competition there were rumours that Williams was dating a student, it turned out that when she got close to his car that day a reporter happened to capture that moment. The rumour circulated for a few days but since no one spoke up to refute or accept it, it cleared after a few more days.

 Just like that , one year slowly faded away. On March 12th she officially turned twenty one and in a month she would be done college. She decided to go clubbing with some of her friends. She wasn't used to leaving a wild lifestyle so when she entered the club Jane felt dizzy due to the loud music. Jane started having second thoughts but her friends didn't let her leave. Left with no choice she stayed and ordered a few bottles of alcohol. They drank for a while, Jane became bored. She whispered into her friends 

" I need to use the restroom I will be back"

 After that she walks to the bartender and asks her for directions to the restroom. Jane followed the direction to the restroom. When she was done using the toilet she stood in front of the mirror for a while before splashing water on face. When Jane was done she left the restroom. Jane entered the room but was confused about the exact place her friends were seated. Jane decided to just walk around, she chose a direction and started walking towards the direction. When hand was close to the end of the she noticed that  she had chosen the wrong direction when she turned to leave she caught a glimpse of a familiar face. Her step froze she quickly turned to see him clearly just to make sure it wasn't an illusion. Jane Matthew slowly made her way towards James Williams. James Williams was sitting alone. Jane quietly sat beside him. Williams noticed the space beside him sink and he quickly opened his eyes just to see a beautiful face beside him. James Williams leaned back and closed his eyes before saying " state your purpose " Jane was silent for a while. Her reaction was slow at the moment. Jane just kept staring at him until Williams suddenly opened his eyes. 

  This gave Jane quite a shock, she subconsciously leaned back and nearly fell off the chair. James Williams looked at her and said again " state your  purpose ". 

  " well I....emm I just... sorry I came here  with my friends and went to use the restroom, I couldn't find my back, chose a direction and ended up here. I didn't mean to intrude ".

 James Williams looked up at her " Oh then leaves ".

  Jane was a bit disappointed. For some reason she found her courage and introduced herself " my name if Jane Matthew nice to meet you".

 "Are you done"?

Jane was speechless, she turned and headed towards another direction. At last she found her companion. Due to her encounter with Williams her emotions were unstable; she kept drowning glass after glass of alcohol until she became numb. She started feeling uncomfortable so she left ,Jane already booked a room in a hotel close to the bar. 

  Jane slowly made her way to the hotel. She found her, she was too drunk, immediately Jane got into the she layed on the bed and slept off . 

    hours after she fell asleep someone came in and laid beside her, she wasn't aware of what was happening around her.

 In the middle of the night James stumbled into Jane's room. The room card given to him turned out to be Jane's room card  Williams was quit drunk and felt uncomfortable, he managedto find his way to the bathroom,  he went to the bathroom to take a quick shower,  he changed into the bathrop hang in the bathroom. After much difficulty he found his way to the bed.

Early the next morning before James and Williams could wake up someone barged in on the. James quickly stood up and acted as if nothing happened while Jane was still feeling drowsy, so it took her a while to come to her senses, when she did she felt burning gazes on her, she looked up to find out that she was not alone in her room. 

She became clear headed instantly, she used her duvet to cover herself, only her eyes were visible. 

She was yet to understand what was going, Jane started wondering if she stumbled into a room that wasn't hers, but the hotel room card can only open the door to the room you booked so there is no way she entered the wrong room. So this is my room so what are they doing here? I looked around the room and I noticed that  there was someone else here, I took a closer look at the man beside me only to find out that it was James. 

' Okay I never saw that coming' I thought to myself. So these people are not here for me but for James, I don't know if I should be relieved or should I start panicking. 

  "Mr James wr heard that you are flirting around with women is that true "

"Is she one of your partners "

 The reporters regained themselves and started questioning James. 

James suddenly pulled me closer, I was so shocked to talk, talk more of the reporters. They were all taken aback by his action.

I didn't know how to react I just stayed quietly in his arms, I wasn't really against it after all I have been dreaming about so I might as well enjoy it while it lasts. 

" what are you all doing here". 

James didn't give them the opportunity to continue questioning him. 

"You are really bold,  aren't you". James gave them a cold smile.

" what did you want to achieve by barging in on me and my fiancee, tell your company to wait for my lawyer's letter".

"All of you get out ".

Everyone was shocked to hear this, 

'Wait! What! '

'Did he just say fiancee'

'When did I get engage'

Well that was unexpected. 

The reporters couldn't get a hold òn was going on . According to the information the got was that James hooked up with someone at the bar and was having a one night stand with her, so how did she become his fiancee? The reporters did not believe him, the decided to press on, they need to get to the bottom of this. 

" Mr Williams, is she not your one night stand  how did she become your lover "

" How long have you two been dating "?

" Is this just an excuse to cover the truth "?

" Mr Williams, please say something".
