Chapter 3

I sat in the rocking chair on the balcony, leisurely watching her rant in front of me like a madwoman.

"Put it however you want. I’m fine as long as I can get what I want. To me, status is meaningless."

"But speaking of which..."

As I spoke, I stood up and walked over to her, staring into her bloodshot eyes before I slowly continued,

"Relying on your status as the daughter of the Walsh family, you bully classmates at school, forcing them to drop out, and even engage in premature romances behind your parents' backs, leading a chaotic life at such a young age."

"Guess what your parents would think if they knew about all this?"

Apparently not expecting me to be aware of her deeds, she was so enraged that she raised her hand to slap me.

"Who allowed you to spout nonsense in front of me? I'm going to rip your smug face off!"

But in the next second, I quickly blocked her attempt.

At the same time, a crisp slap landed on her cheek.

Joanne looked at me in disbelief, and her face quickly swelled up.

Before she could react, I reached out and grabbed her chin.

"Do you still want to hit me?"

"I'm telling you. Although we are both daughters of the Walsh family, you better behave yourself."

"After all, I am now known as the province's genius student. If anything happens to me, without a doubt, I will tell Father that you were behind it all."

"You might as well try and see if Father would believe me, who can bring him benefits, or you, who is nothing but a troublemaker."

Although Joanne is the daughter of the Walsh family, her academic performance in school was presumably the worst.

Mrs. Walsh turned a blind eye to this, but she is clearly aware of it.

Joanne was not a qualified successor.

Otherwise, Mrs. Walsh would not have agreed to accept me, the illegitimate daughter, into the Walsh family.
