"What's wrong with Teddy?" Cassie yells as she barges into the room. She looked confused over at Teddy expecting him not to be here.
I just shook my head as I grabbed her by her shoulders and forced her to sit in a chair. "He wants to talk to us. So sit down and listen."
Cassie blew air out of her nose but didn't protest. I look over at Teddy and give him a nod so he knows he can start when he's ready.
He was so nervous he just looked at his hands and he intertwined his fingers. "I found my mate."
I looked at Cassie and was kind of relieved to see that she was as surprised as I was. "But you're 15! How do you know it's your mate?!"
I glare over at Cassie. He tells us something that is obviously worrying him and she reacts by yelling at him.
"That's not what you should be asking right now! Teddy. Are you worried about your mate?"
Teddy nodded and Cassie calmed down. "Sorry. I didn't mean to yell it's just. You're not mature so your wolf shouldn't know. Did she tell you that she's your mate?"
Teddy stilled and just shook his head. He's getting more uncomfortable the more we talk. Hey Cassie. Just let me ask the questions. He seems really nervous.
No. I know how he feels more than you since we were both so young.
"Teddy." Cassie's voice was soft and inviting and Teddy looked up at her. "I was 15 too when V came and claimed me. You can tell me anything."
He wore a weak smile as he thought. He took in a deep breath and held it for a few seconds before exhaling loudly.
"I'm sorry I'm making you guys feel like I don't trust you with this because I do. You're the only ones I trust with this. It's just...hard for me to get my own head around to tell you."
Looks like Cassie's Luna skills have improved. He tilted his head from side to side and hit his hands on top of his thighs.
"I found my mate and I found them today. I'm worried and I need your help to tell my dad and alpha."
Cassie's eyebrow rose in curiosity. "You haven't told your dad?"
Teddy furiously shook his head. "No. Like I said I need your guy's help. Luna you can help me with alpha. And Alex, you can help me with my dad."
It made sense in theory but I feel like he has nothing to worry about. His dad and V love him. But I and Cassie would still help him in any way he thinks he may need us to.
"The wolves you came with Alex." He paused and stared at me. "One was my mate."
"Oh God, I'm losing Teddy to Mason's pack too!" I threw Cassie a dirty look. "Are you serious?"
"Yes. Blaine is great and I approve of him." Teddy looked at Cassie in awe. "You know him?"
She nodded and walked over and sat on the arm of Teddy's chair. "V will be upset that you're leaving but he won't stop you or be mad."
"Same with your dad," I added with a nod. And for the first time since I came to the office, Teddy smiled a genuine smile. "Thanks, guys. But what am I supposed to do now?"
"Get to know him and see where things go. You're quiet and he never shuts up. It's perfect." I can't believe this girl.
"Don't worry Teddy. You need anything was here for you." I got out of my seat and dragged Cassie out of the room by her arm.
We were in the hall when Cassie pulled my hand away. "Earth to Sandra!" I looked up a little confused. "I've been calling you forever what's on your mind?"
Mason knew and he didn't tell me. That's why he said what he said. Why wouldn't he just tell me?
"Wouldn't you want to hear it from Teddy yourself?"
I almost jumped out of my skin when Cassie answered me, and then I realized she still had my hand in hers from when she pulled it off. "That isn't fair."
"What isn't fair is you want him to tell you something that isn't his business to tell. Don't start to build a wall just when you two are making progress."
That's not what I'm trying to do but I don't think as much progress has been made as Cassie thinks. I don't argue and just nod. "You're right. I'll let you run off and do whatever important business you were up to."
Cassie was annoyed with my statement. "Talking about what moves and tactics to use in the war that we have going on here with Aiden. Yeah pretty important."
"Oh I," Cassie cut me off. "Forgot. I'm sure." Without giving me a chance to say anything else she walks off towards V and Brett's office.
Great now she's mad at me too. Can this trip get any worse? "It can."
"Gregor. Can you please go away? I really don't want you or Cassie listening to my thoughts right now."
"I don't choose to. But I'm sure you both just need a good night's rest. You'll figure everything out in the morning." Gregor sounded so sure but I definitely wasn't. "Just trust me."
"Fine, if it will keep you away from my thoughts. Good night." One thing I don't miss about being home. My thoughts not being private.
*****
It's the next morning and I didn't sleep one bit. My nerves were completely shot. I just want the results to come back sooner rather than later.
I roll over and grab my phone. Unlocking it I scroll to Alexandra's number. I hesitate thinking about if I should really be bothering her this early before I just send the text.
*Hey I was just getting ready for training. Wanna come?*
That might be exactly what I need but I didn't want to train. I just wanted to spend time with her. Without Cassie, V, Blaine, or Michelle. Just me and Alexandra.
*Actually...I was hoping we could go do something.*
I felt like an idiot after I sent the text. She's not going to skip training with her home pack to hang out with me. When I heard the ping on my phone I was almost too scared to look.
*What did you want to do?*
I felt relief wash over me as I read her text. So she is willing to hang out with me. I grin ear to ear as I think about what we should do.
I don't want to hike even though there are plenty of mountains. I want a nice lazy day to get to know each other and get my mind off the test.
*Picnic at the lake?*
"Ughhh. Would you stop texting already? I'm trying to sleep." Blaine bellowed as he turned in his bed and covered his head with the blanket.
Well, the peace was nice while it lasted. My phone pinged again and Blaine shot up from the bed. "Seriously who are you texting?"
"Alexandra," I say shortly and he immediately gets a goofy grin on his face. "Oh, what are you talking about."
He slowly makes his way to my bed and plops down. "I'm going on a picnic at the lake."
"That's perfect. Can I come? I want to ask the infirmary boy." I shake my head since he still doesn't know his name.
"Does infirmary boy have a name?" I question. He opens his mouth to say something and then closes it. "Teddy."
I look to the door and see Cassie standing in the doorway with her arms crossed. "And that's a great idea. I'll bring Boss."
This isn't happening. This is exactly what I didn't want to happen. I didn't get the chance to say anything before Blaine had jumped up and run out of the door.
Cassie stayed and just kept staring at me with her arms crossed. I was waiting for her to leave but she just stayed.
"Something else you want to tell me?" I ask a little annoyed. "I'm pretty sure that's what I should be asking you."
I was confused. Why would I tell her anything? "What's bothering you for one?"
I laugh more to myself than at her question. "What isn't? But what's bothering me the most right now is I try to get away from all this shit and actually try to spend time with Alexandra. To get to know her away from you guys and...guess what? That's gone now because you guys invited yourself."
I blow air out of my nose forcefully, even more, annoyed by saying it out loud than just thinking it. Cassie however hasn't changed her stance.
"It's better this way. Teddy would be too scared to do anything with Blaine without me and Alexandra. Also, it will help Alexandra with us being there too."
"How does it help," I ask cutting her off from finishing what she was saying. "Because she always seconds guesses everything and will feel more comfortable that she has an out. You know, in case you do something that makes her want to get away from you."
I shoot a mean glare in Cassie's direction but she doesn't seem to care. "You'll see. It's better this way."
She finally walks out of the door and I throw myself back onto the bed. My phone lights up and I realize that I was too busy being annoyed I didn't notice Alexandra had messaged me back.
*What time are we going?*
*Are we still going?*
*Mason?*
I sigh hoping that she doesn't think I canceled on her. I quickly type a reply back.
*Sorry. People invited themselves to go with us. Hope you don't mind.*
I wait patiently to see if she gave up and just went to train instead. Finally, the message I was waiting for.
*I don't mind. Just glad we're still going.*
I feel relieved with her message. Hopefully, we can still have a peaceful day and get to know each other as I had hoped.
