Aylin took a step forward, approaching her with an intimidating presence. "Two nights ago, you spiked my drink."
"What do you mean? I don't understand," Lailah replied, pretending not to comprehend.
Noticing faint traces on Aylin's neck, she assumed that Aylin had slept with the thug she had arranged. A sense of satisfaction filled her heart.
Knowing that Lailah wouldn't easily admit it, Aylin took out her phone, opened the gallery, and turned the screen towards her.
"These are your account and purchase records online. Are you still going to deny it?"
Lailah's expression changed slightly. She had deleted the purchase records, but Aylin had somehow hacked into her account and recovered them!
"I don't know what happened. I didn't buy those things! Stop accusing me!" Lailah slid the screen, revealing another photo of herself picking up a package, clearly showing her face and the order number for the drugs.
"Do you have anything else to say?"
The evidence was undeniable. Lailah's face changed repeatedly, and she gave up pretending. "Yes, I did it. I couldn't stand you anymore, so I drugged your drink! Who gave you the right to snatch the internship opportunity at Polaris Technologies from me just because your aristocratic dream was shattered? Why?"
It was supposed to be her who got the internship at Polaris Technologies!
Aylin sneered, "You couldn't get into Polaris Technologies because of your lack of ability. Don't make excuses for yourself."
Lailah didn't believe it and wouldn't question herself either. "When it comes to seducing men, I'm not as good as you."
She laughed coldly and continued, "So what if you have all this evidence? Do you dare to report me? If this matter gets out, it will tarnish the reputation of the University of Faypine. Do you think the school leaders will let you off?"
Aylin and Lailah were both ordinary people from small places. In front of the powerful figures at Faypine, they were like ants. Lailah advised Aylin not to act recklessly, lest her aristocratic dream be shattered and her reputation be ruined again, resulting in her being expelled from the University of Faypine.
Buying such drugs was illegal.
Aylin didn't directly report her to the school leaders. it was undoubtedly to protect the reputation of the University of Faypine as well as her own reputation. She didn't dare to act rashly.
Lailah knew this well and felt confident.
Of course, Aylin wouldn't be foolish enough to personally speak about this matter.
"Because it's not worth ruining the reputation of the University of Faypine just for a despicable bug like you, I anonymously sent it to Mr. Kennard for him to handle. Getting you kicked out of the University of Faypine is still possible," Aylin said as she raised her phone, showing a successful email sent on the screen.
Seeing that Aylin was serious, Lailah panicked and immediately tried to grab her phone.
However, Aylin fiercely threw her aside, causing her to fall heavily onto the ground.
Lailah groaned in pain. she had twisted her ankle. But at this moment, she couldn't care about the pain. She had worked so hard to get into the University of Faypine. If she were expelled now before graduating, her life would be over.
Her eyes turned cold as she stared at Aylin. "If I leave the University of Faypine, your dirty secrets will also be exposed! You're already a laughingstock throughout the entire school. What? Do you want another scandal? Then your aristocratic dream will truly have no hope."
Aylin's cold gaze locked onto Lailah. Suddenly, she took a step forward and stomped on her leg.
"Ah!" Lailah screamed in pain as she felt her leg almost breaking.
Aylin tapped the screen of her phone again, playing a recording of Lailah's voice.
"Yes, I did it. I couldn't stand you anymore, so I drugged your drink."
As the recording played, Aylin coldly said, "It seems like you not only want to get kicked out of the University of Faypine but also go to jail!"
Lailah looked at her in astonishment, forgetting about the pain in her leg.
She never expected Aylin could recover all the evidence and cunningly record everything!
Biting her lip, Lailah reluctantly changed her attitude. "Aylin, I'm sorry. I was wrong. It was a momentary lapse in judgment. I haven't graduated yet. I can't be kicked out."
"For the sake of our three years as roommates, please forgive me this once. Quickly retract that email. I'm begging you."
Aylin responded coldly, "If apologies were useful, why would we need laws? If you do something wrong, you must pay the price!"
Seeing her firm stance, Lailah became furious again and spoke without thinking, "It's just sleeping with a thug. What's the big deal? You're back safe and sound anyway. Just for this little thing, you're going to ruin my life?"
A thug...
Hearing this word made Aylin clench her fist tightly. Her eyes grew colder.
So that man outside the private room whom she had beaten up was arranged by Lailah.
Thinking Aylin might hit her again made Lailah show fear. With Aylin's skills, one punch could break her bones.
That was why she had to use drugs. Otherwise, that thug wouldn't have been able to control Aylin at all.
At that moment, Joaquin called.
Aylin didn't answer but spoke coldly, "Lailah, get out of the University of Faypine and never let me see you again!"
"And! That useless guy you found is probably in the hospital now."
With that said, she walked away while answering Joaquin's call.
Lailah sat on the ground with a pale face and hateful eyes, staring at Aylin as if she wanted to kill her.
What did she mean by that?
Could it be that thug didn't succeed?
But she clearly didn't come back all night and had those marks on her neck!
At the parking lot.
Joaquin didn't bring his chauffeur today. Seeing Aylin coming over, he personally got out of the car to open the door for her.
His Maybach was too eye-catching.
Aylin thanked him and sat in the passenger seat.
Joaquin returned to his seat and looked at her. "Fasten your seatbelt."
Aylin pulled over the seatbelt and fastened it while asking, "Where are we going?"
Fake marriage shouldn't require going to the city hall for registration, right?
Joaquin held onto the steering wheel for a few seconds before saying, "To our home."
Although it was a fake marriage, they needed to keep up appearances, which Aylin understood well enough but still said, "We can live in one house but not share one room."
Joaquin glanced sideways at her. "Don't worry. I have no such intentions but remember not to drink anything recklessly or enter men's rooms carelessly either."
Aylin turned her head, looking out through the window without saying anything more until they arrived at an upscale villa area called Rosewood Point, known for its best landscaping throughout Faypine.
The car drove through the gate where both got off after the car stopped.
Gary immediately came forward, greeting them both respectfully. "Mr. Beckham, Miss Lovelace."
They walked past a garden pool before entering the living room where two marriage agreements lay on the coffee table.
Gary said, "Mr. Beckham, the marriage certificate has been brought back."
"Hmm," replied Joaquin, picking up one agreement and flipping through pages.
Aylin glanced over, noticing the photo was photoshopped, yet the documents looked convincingly real.
Joaquin handed over both agreements, saying, "Take a look. If there's no problem, just sign."
The thick two-page documents were handed over, but Aylin was too lazy to read them and signed them directly.
After all, it was all fake, so there was no point in reading it.
Joaquin looked at her, leaned back against the sofa, and didn't say anything.
After putting down the pen, Aylin noticed the painting on the wall.
Seeing her staring at the painting, Gary immediately said, "Does Miss Lovelace also like this painting? This is the work of Mr. Beckham's favorite artist, Aliza Latimer, the famous painting Mr. Hector, Bryson Hector's only disciple."
Since the two were married, Gary thought it was necessary for Aylin to know his boss's preferences to avoid being exposed in front of the Beckham family in the future.
