Chapter 13: He Is Angry

Hearing this, Aylin thought to herself, "Mr. Hector is my teacher. I can see him anytime."

"Alright, I'll think about it," she said.

Joaquin said nothing and continued drinking his tea.

On the coffee table, Aylin's phone suddenly lit up with a WhatsApp message.

Joaquin didn't have the habit of prying into others' privacy, but he inadvertently glanced at the message content.

"I'm really curious. What does your boss look like? How much do you actually like him?"

Joaquin stared at the screen, reading every word, his hand unconsciously tightening.

The phone buzzed again before he could read the new message. A delicate and beautiful hand had already picked it up.

Aylin didn't notice Joaquin's gaze and directly checked the WhatsApp message. After a moment of speechlessness, she replied, "Who told you I like my boss?"

The other person replied, "Didn't you tacitly admit it before?"

Aylin asked, "When did I ever admit it?"

"Last time I asked if you liked your boss, you didn't answer. Isn't that tacit acquiescence?"

Aylin texted, "That was me being speechless!"

After a while, another message came. "Do you really not like your boss?"

"Are you too idle lately?"

"I'm going to get busy now. Goodbye."

The conversation ended, and Aylin put her phone aside and continued reading her book.

At that moment, Gary walked over。 "Mr. Beckham, the clothes prepared for Madam have arrived."

Upon hearing this, Aylin looked up. "What clothes?"

"The clothes for Sir Kew's birthday banquet tomorrow," Gary replied.

Aylin looked at Joaquin and asked, "You've already prepared everything?"

"Yes," Joaquin said with a domineering tone that left no room for negotiation. "I wasn't just discussing it with you earlier. You must go."

Aylin moved her lips but hadn't had time to speak before he added, "You have no room to back out now."

Gary was stunned for a moment. What was wrong with the atmosphere? His boss seemed calm on the surface, but based on Gary's years of experience, his boss was angry!

It seemed Aylin's reluctance to attend Sir Kew's birthday banquet had angered his boss.

Aylin took a deep breath, suppressing her anger. "Fine, I'll go."

She had brought this upon herself and had to bear it!

Celebrating an elder's birthday was also a happy occasion.

"Just to confirm, we'll return early," Aylin reiterated.

Joaquin didn't respond but turned to Gary instead. "Take all the clothes upstairs for Madam to try on."

"Yes." Gary nodded and led the stylist upstairs with the clothes.

Joaquin stood up and looked at Aylin again. "Let's go."

Aylin didn't move. "You haven't answered my question yet."

After a few seconds, Joaquin finally replied, "Early there and early back."

Satisfied, Aylin put down her book and stood up. The two headed upstairs together.

In the room, various outfits were hung in a row. The stylist asked, "Madam, which one do you like?"

Aylin scanned the dresses and her gaze fell on a champagne-colored gown with three-quarter sleeves. The embroidery and pearls around the neckline were exquisite.

"Madam likes this gown?" The stylist asked, "Shall I help you try it on?"

Aylin wasn't used to others dressing her. "You can leave. I'll change by myself."

"Let me help you."

"No need."

Seeing Aylin's resolute attitude, the stylist didn't insist further. "Call me if you need anything." With that, she turned and left.

With the door closed, Aylin took down the gown and changed into it.

In the living room outside, Joaquin sat on the sofa while Gary and the stylist stood silently waiting.

A few minutes later, the door opened, and a slender and stunning figure slowly walked out.

At 170 cm tall, though slim, Aylin had a curvaceous figure that made the gown look even more perfect on her. A gentle breeze blew through her slightly wavy long hair, adding an extra touch of softness.

Joaquin watched her intently, his deep eyes showing subtle ripples of emotion.

The stylist exclaimed in admiration, "Madam, you're so beautiful."

Gary couldn't take his eyes off her. Aylin's appearance truly lived up to heavenly beauty.

Aylin looked at the three of them. "How is this dress? It should be suitable for the banquet, right?"

She hadn't attended such occasions before but felt that being dignified and elegant was appropriate.

Gary blurted out, "Yes! Very beautiful!"

Joaquin glanced at him sideways before ordering, "Leave us."

They immediately left.

Aylin looked at him with some confusion. What did this attitude mean?

Joaquin turned his gaze back to her. "Do you want to try another one?"

Aylin asked, "Is this one not good-looking or not suitable?"

Joaquin replied, "Yes."

"Then why try another one?"

Facing her suspicion, Joaquin explained, "I meant you could try others. Maybe there's one you like even more."

Aylin smiled slightly, "I prefer first impressions."

"Is it the same with people?" Joaquin suddenly asked.

Aylin thought for a moment. "More or less. If I don't have a good impression of someone at first sight, I probably won't later either."

Joaquin's thin lips pressed together slightly, and he said nothing more.

"I'll wear this gown," Aylin decided.

Joaquin responded indifferently with a "Hmm".

"By the way, when are we going tomorrow?" Aylin asked.

"Tomorrow morning, we'll head to the banquet venue with Grandpa from Cityscape Chateau. The banquet starts at noon," Joaquin explained.

"From Cityscape Chateau? So we're going there first tomorrow?"

"We're actually going to Cityscape Chateau this evening and staying the night," Joaquin replied.

Aylin was slightly stunned. "Stay at Cityscape Chateau tonight? Then we..."

Joaquin calmly said, "Share the same room."

She suddenly felt that two years was quite long!

In the evening, they went to Cityscape Chateau together. Nathan was very happy to see Aylin and had a large table of dishes prepared in celebration, akin to a grand feast.

"Aylin, eat more of what you like," Nathan said kindly.

Aylin smiled in response, "Okay."

Nathan pointed to several dishes on the table and instructed, "Take these dishes and soup over to the young master."

"They're nourishing for your health. Joaquin, you should eat more too."

"Okay." With that, Joaquin picked up a spoonful of soup and drank it before suddenly turning to ask Aylin, "Want some soup?"

His magnetic voice was particularly pleasant to hear.

Aylin glanced sideways at him. Her beautiful eyes flashed with surprise, but then she quickly realized he was putting on an act of affection.

She smiled slightly. "No need. You should drink more."

Joaquin placed a piece of meat in her bowl. "Then eat more meat."

Aylin replied, "Okay..."

She ate it.

Nathan watched them with clarity in his heart but remained happy nonetheless.

Joaquin had never treated any other woman like this nor had any woman caught his eye before. Nathan used to worry that his only grandson might not like women.

After dinner ended, Nathan sent them back to their bedroom early for rest.

Although the bedroom at Cityscape Chateau was spacious, it only had a small single sofa, which meant that tonight, they would have to share a bed.

"There's only one bed," Aylin said instinctively.

Joaquin glanced at her, a teasing smile on his lips. "With a big sofa, you might not even stay put on it anyway."
