Chapter 15 So Have I

Xiomara kept her head lowered as she walked past him, she breathed in, he still smelt the same way which could only mean one thing, he was still using the same perfume.

Xiomara stared out of the window, she couldn't take her eyes off him even after the car drove past him, but she still turned her head to look at him.

Lucas was the first boy she ever fall in love with, he was her first love and from the way, her heart was feeling all excited and curious to know what he's been up to, Xiomara knew she was still in love with him.

She sighed feeling a slight headache “Urgh, he must be married with kids, he probably came to the airport to pick up either his wife or kid”

“Is there any problem?” Luca noticed her change in attitude.

“Yes I'm fine, Can you look into someone?” Xiomara asked, she felt a little guilty, she has been giving them a lot of work lately and she knew how exhausting it could be.

“Who?” Xiomara closed her eyes, opening them almost immediately.

“Nevermind, you already have a lot of things to do, just focus on the findings about the Day conglomerate, their investments, and all properties” She smiled at him.

“About that, I figured out that the family in question are all dead, including their only heir who died in a fire outbreak,” Luca said.

“I'm aware of that” Xiomara smirked.

“I found the location of their graves and the conglomerate no longer exists, I'm guessing it must have been shoved into a new name, I'm still trying to get information about it,” Luca said.

“Their grave, where is it?”

“The state graveyard, that's where their grave is,” Luca said and Xiomara chuckled.

“The state graveyard” Xiomara didn't get the opportunity to attend her parent's funeral or even visit their graveside after the burial, she was on the run for her life and was scared of being found.

“Let's visit there tomorrow,” she said trying to hide the tears cluttered in her eyes.

The driver stopped in a big mansion and they all alighted, Xiomara stood still looking around the building.

“The house looks different than I remembered it, where are the garden and the playground, it looks very different” She commented looking around.

“Actually, it's not the same house you recommend,” Yvette said looking at Xiomara, who turned giving her a cold stare that could kill.

“I tried to purchase the house but the realtor took it off the market, I tried convincing but she said the owner decided not to sale it” Yvette explained.

“And why I'm I just hearing it now?” Xiomara's voice was cold and stiff.

“I wanted to tell you but you were busy with other things, so I decided not to bother you and purchase another property,” Yvette said.

Xiomara inhaled releasing her clenched fist “Who is the owner” she breathed out., she was angry but knowing whom the owner of the house was like a step closer to finding those that killed her parents.

“Mr. Glenn Wallace,” Yvette said and Xiomara raised a brow at her.

“Glenn??, Who is that?” Xiomara asked.

“He's the CEO of Wallace conglomerate, he's rich and very influential here in Sacramento”

“I'm looking into his family and other detail's about him, but it appears he's keeping his family details private and has a low profile,” Yvette said.

“Oh, that's interesting, very interesting” Xiomara scoffed.

“You've got just two days to provide all details about him, do you understand” Yvette nodded her head in approval.

Xiomara looked from her to Luca before heading inside the house.

Later in the day, Xiomara woke up feeling refreshed, she grabbed her phone to check the call only to behold thousands of missed calls from Delfina.

“Oh please, I have my problems to worry about” She sneered, but then another call came in.

“Can you leave me alone!!!” Xiomara yelled.

“Woah, calm down it's me, Serena,” Serena said over the phone.

Xiomara lowered the phone to check the caller ID which she didn't check before answering the call.

“Oh, sorry about that, thought it was Delfina, she's becoming a thorn in my flesh” Xiomara apologized.

Serena laughed “Please let the young girl be, Are you in Sacramento now?” she asked.

“I arrived hours ago, just waking up from sleep,” Xiomara said getting off the bed, she grabbed her laptop and headed downstairs.

“Okay, just thought I should ask, take care of yourself and be careful caro, Sacramento has changed,” Serena said.

“And so have I, besides I also want to expand the X-Rocco conglomerates here in Sacramento,” Xiomara said.

“How is your lover boy?” Xiomara asked, now sitting, she opened the laptop fixing her eyes on it.

“That, he's out for a school whatever, I'm glad he is at least I would rest,” Serena said and Xiomara chuckled.

“You are beginning to sound like his wife” Xiomara teased.

“Hell no, I'm not and I don't even want to be” Serena objected.

“Are you sure?”

“Caro, why are you pushing it, I said it before and I would say it again, he's not my spec and would never be” Serena emphasized.

“Good for you, I will talk to you later, bye,” Xiomara said and ended the call.

She dropped her phone and focused her attention on her laptop, just then the door swung open and Yvette and Luca walked in.

“The job interview for the Morriox conglomerate is scheduled for tomorrow, I just got the email” Yvette announced.

“Okay, Time?” Xiomara asked, her eyes still fixed on her laptop, she decided to look into Lucas herself instead of stressing Luca or Yvette about it.

“By noon, Visitation for the state graveyard starts by 10 am so we would be going there before the interview”

Xiomara paused and looked up to Yvette who was standing, She smiled and gradually removed her eyeglasses.

“I would be visiting the graveyard alone likewise the interview, I'm not going there as your boss but as Genesis Dean,” She said.

“Okay, but_”

“I've some other assignment for the both of you, a very important one” Xiomara began.

“The X-Rocco conglomerates are expanding to Sacramento and I also want to establish something new here, XDR Conglomerate which would have three companies under it Della bio, XD Technology, and Della financial and investments” She paused, Yvette stared at her wondering why she was telling her all these.

“Expanding the X-Rocco conglomerate isn't good at these crucial times” Luca suggested.

“It isn't Luca, it would make it even more difficult for Feliciano Sarto to take over,” Xiomara said.

“I want you Yvette to become the planning supervisor and director for the XDR conglomerate,” Xiomara said.

“Ma'am, I don't think I'm cut out for such work,” Yvette said.

“You have a degree in business management and I couldn't find any other person fit for the job, I remain the president and CEO so you take orders from me”

“You would be resuming work tomorrow at the new conglomerate,” Xiomara said and turned to Luca.

“Since you know basically everything about the X-Rocco conglomerate, you would become the Director, so be sure to focus on the work, and don't you forget to let me know before making any decision,” Xiomara said and turned to her laptop.

Yvette and Luca were more than happy but at the same time, managing a large conglomerate was a lot of work and Xiomara doesn't like mistakes at all.

“Send me all the details regarding the job interview and prepare for your new position, I will email you both the guidelines, rules, and regulations to follow,” Xiomara said.

“Okay, Boss” the excitement on their faces was visible for all to see.

“Don't be too excited yet, A single mistake can send you to your ancestors, so please be careful, I don't want to kill any of you” Xiomara paused.

“And don't address me as your boss in public, I wouldn't want anyone to know my true identity, I'm Genesis Dean, an ordinary American citizen who's looking for a job so please, treat me as one” Xiomara smiled at them.

Yvette and Luca glanced at each other and then at Xiomara, lately they haven't known what she is up to and the people she was asking them to look into had nothing to do with her.

“Okay” They nodded, neither of them has the guts to question her

Xiomara grabbed her phone and inputted a phone number from her laptop, she quickly dialed the number signaling Yvette and Luca to excuse themselves.
