Chapter 14 Spares No One

“Mum!!”

Xiomara was dazed at Richelmo as he fell gradually to the ground, Yvette was in alarm as she looked from Delfina to Richelmo.

‘How did he get there so fast that no one saw not even a glimpse of his light’

Delfina quickly rushed to Richelmo who was lying in a pool of blood unconscious.

“Call the ambulance!, Call the ambulance!!” Delfina yelled.

Yvette picked off her phone to call the ambulance while Xiomara rushed towards Richelmo, she checked her pulse and felt a little hope, he was still breathing.

The ambulance arrived almost immediately and Richelmo was rushed to the hospital while Xiomara and Yvette followed suit in another car.

The emergency operation lasted throughout the next and luckily for the Rocco family, Richelmo was stabilized.

“Thank you very much daughter, I will sort out the bill with the cashier” Xiomara thanked.

“Okay, he just needs some rest so please don't disturb him” Dr. Rico Rubino paused looking at her.

“You should go home and rest, you look very exhausted” Dr. Rico Rubino added.

Xiomara nodded her head murmuring an okay, the doctor was right, she had stayed up all night.

She turned to leave but Rosalie stood in front of her, her hands clenched.

“So you seriously think you can kill my brother the same way you killed my mum and kept my father in a miserable condition” Rosalie yelled, drawing a lot of attention to them.

“I beg your pardon”

“Oh please, don't you dare play the guilty card with me, I'm going to sue you for this and I will tell the whole world who you truly are” Rosalie yelled.

She frowned her face watching Xiomara burst into laughter.

“Sue me?”

“You must be out of your mind Rosalie, why come here and create a scene when you don't even know what happened”

Rosalie scoffed “You always find a perfect excuse for everything, don't you?”

“I can see you as naive as your mother, Why don't you go sue me, I would gladly be waiting for the court letter,” Xiomara said and tried to walk away but Rosalie dragged her back forcefully.

Luckily for Xiomara, she had her stigma intact so she didn't fall, she turned and landed Rosalie a heavy slap.

The gasps from the people around were heard loudly, none of them expected such from Xiomara.

“You better be careful Rosalie and don't push me too far, I don't know how long I can tolerate you, I can feel my patience running out” Xiomara grinned.

Rosalie stared at her with tears in her eyes, she had hated Xiomara from the very first day she became Corrado’s mistress and from there graduated to being his wife and now the leader of the pyxinx empire.

“You tried to kill my brother so you can have the empire to yourself and hand it over to your daughter huh”

“That's why you called him over, prove me wrong, you Jezebel”

“I'm particularly glad you know that you that stand a chance in the pyxinx empire line of succession and for the records, the bullet was meant for Delfina, your kind brother took the bullet for her”

“You should do your homework well before throwing tantrums and that's the exact reason, you won't inherit the empire,” Xiomara said moving towards her.

“And yes, you are right, I did all of those things you mentioned, and I won't hesitate to do more to you Rosalie” she whispered into her eyes, Rosalie gave her a sharp glance meeting her deceitful small.

“The doctor said he needs rest” Xiomara informed walking out.

Rosalie stood dazed, her eyes fixed on the direction Xiomara walked through.

“I rescheduled your flight for noon, hope it's okay,” Yvette asked.

Xiomara stared at her without saying anything, she wasn't sure if she wants to go back to Sacramento anymore, she was hoping to leave everything in Richelmo's care while she was away but now that he was in the hospital, she can't possibly leave anything to the dumb Rosalie.

Xiomara was welcomed by Delfina who was waiting at the door, her eyes were swollen and red.

“Is he dead?” Xiomara paused at the question.

“No, but you would be if I see you close to Valerio or any member of the Deluca family” Xiomara threatened.

“I never thought you would pull the trigger, you wanted to kill me,” Delfina asked.

“I'm your only child mum, how could you think of killing me”

Xiomara scoffed, She stared at her, wanting to that she wasn't her only child but kicked against it, she wasn't sure if she would find her lost child.

“Don't play the victim card with me, Rosalie is throwing tantrums in the hospital thinking I want to kill her brother, I'm sure I made her day when I informed her the bullet was for you”

“You should be careful Delfina, that you are mine doesn't mean I can't hurt you when you start being a nuisance like Rosalie, Don't push me again, You might not be as lucky as yesterday” Xiomara turned to leave but then stopped.

“Pack your bag, you are going to Florida”

“What?, Mum, is this because of Valerio, you don't want to see us together that bad huh?” Delfina asked with tears in her eyes.

“Nessun miele, I don't need to send you to Florida to keep you away from Valerio, I just need to kill you or him to do that, this has nothing to do with Valerio”

“Then who is it about?” Delfina snapped.

“I have an urgent business to attend to in California, so I would be away for a couple of months” Xiomara paused.

“You are going to Florida to stay with my nun friend at the convent, trust me when I say you would love, its a wonderful place and you would grow up with God and Love, and most important you would be saved” Xiomara heading inside.

“And my birthday party, You promised?” Delfina asked following her.

“Yeah, I know I did but that was on the terms that you won't attend the dumb party but you did so no birthday party, that's the price you have to pay”

“Mum, I don't want to go to Florida, I don't want to spend my senior year in a city I've never been to, let alone a convent, what about prom” Delfina cried.

“That's ain't happening, look miele, the discussion has been made, and your flight leaves in_” Xiomara looked at Yvette.

“An hour” Yvette quickly responded.

“You heard that, so you have no time left, chop chop, my flight leaves in five hours so I need to be sure you are out of Italy,” Xiomara said with a tone of finality, heading upstairs to her room.

“An hour mum, Please, I can stay with Sassa,” Delfina said but she got no reply from her mum.

She had no choice but to oblige.

Five hours later

Xiomara was seen alongside Yvette and Luca at the private international airport in Italy about to board the plane.

“Excuse me ma, Just for security purposes we need to double-check identities,” The airport security lady said smiling.

Xiomara smiled back adjusting her eyeshade, she handed over her passport to her.

“Can you remove your eyeshade please?” she asked politely looking from the picture to her.

Xiomara smiled and gradually removed her eyeshade, she looked entirely different from what she looked before.

No one would recognize her as the ruthless Xiomara Della Rocco, she was, thanks to the secret plastic mask she had on which gave her a new look and identity.

“Ms. Genesis Dean, I'm sorry for the inconvenience, just following the airport protocol” She apologized.

“No problem, you are just doing your job” Xiomara (Genesis) said with a smile plastered on her face.

“Thanks for your understand, I hope you enjoy your flight,” She said handing her back her passport.

Xiomara (Genesis) smiled, she took the passport and wore her eyeshade back before entering the private plane.

Yvette and Luca also went through the security check before they joined her.

It was a private plane just for them, so immediately after they settled in, two pilots and two flight attendants entered before the plane took off.

Throughout the two hours flight, Xiomara (Genesis) wasn't nervous or bothered but immediately the plane began taxiing, her heart skipped a bit.

She tried calming herself down by going through all the plans she had made “Just two months and everything is going to be over” She said quietly but Yvette who was seated close to her heard it.

Half an hour later, the plane came to a complete stop.

Yvette and Luca walked pushing the suitcase forward while Xiomara walked a few inches behind them.

As soon as she turned on the phone, she received a call. On the other side of the line was a frivolous but lively voice. “Mum, I hate it here”

Xiomara asked casually, “Why?”.

“Okay, there are a lot of reasons but I would just state the basics, firstly, I have to share the bathroom with a bunch of strangers, and in my room, I have to stay in a bunk bed with other girls, mum I'm a lady and I need privacy, like a lot of it. This isn't the slavery period, I didn't even know bunk beds are still in existence” Delfina gloated

Xiomara said, “…Oh, well now you know”

“Is that all you have to say, this is an emergency mum” She yelled.

“Doesn't sound like one” Genesis yawned lazily.

As she approached the exit, Xiomara suddenly spotted a familiar figure in the arrival hall in front. She replied perfunctorily, “I will talk to you later, Bye”

After hanging up, she tossed the phone into her pocket and cast her eyes downward coldly.

She didn't expect to see an old acquaintance so soon.

A man stood at a prominent spot at the exit of the airport. He was wearing a suit and looked quite bright and cheerful. He looked a little more mature than how he had been twenty-five years ago_he turned out to be her teen boyfriend, Lucas Melton.
