Chapter 13 Sounds Like A Plan

Morris's lips curved with a smile “Deal” he touched her hair leaning forward to kiss her.

Serena couldn't help but wonder what was worry what was wrong with his marriage, after he texted her yesterday, she looked up his family on social media, and it was hard for her to find anything, Morris did a good job hiding his family and stuffs about him.

But nothing passes Serena, she was computer literate, and after hours of searching, she stomped into an account that she believed must belong to Morris's wife.

The lady by the name Rebecca Fox was stunning, with her fair skin which looked good on her but she had a weak sense of fashion which Serena guessed might be the reason Morris was looking at other sophisticated women.

Even with her zero fashion sense, her bio still read fashionista, she must be a clown or a comedian to think she had a good fashion sense.

Going through her page, Serena noticed how much of a brag she was, she was always buying expensive things and showing off on social media but then she didn't have kids to show off, or maybe she was keeping her kids private the same way she was keeping her husband secret.

Serena couldn't wrap her head around it, her kind won't waste time putting up the faces of their kids if they had any so Serena concluded she didn't have any to brag about.

‘But was Morris looking for a child?’.

“I will come to pick you up after work?” Morris snapped Serena out of her thought.

“You don't have to, I work in a large firm and I can't afford to be in any scandal,” Serena said walking towards her office chair to seat.

“There won't be none Serena, No reporter posts about me” Morris bragged.

“I'm sure they don't, you seem to have a very neat profile, I thought there was only one of that kind”. She opened her laptop picking up some files.

“One of that Kind?” Morris stared at her, a bit surprised.

“Never mind, it's nothing you should wor_” Serena was interrupted by her buzzing phone, she smiled and answered the call.

“Ciao Miele” She smiled.

“Good Morning Caro, Hope I'm not calling you in between work,” Xiomara said, she just concluded her meeting with the Provenance business school director and was on her way to her company.

“No, you are not, How is my princess Delfina, I haven't been asking about her lately,” Serena asked.

“She's good, just giving me her teenage troubles,” Xiomara said and Serena burst into laughter making Morris stare at her wondering who she was speaking to.

“She's a teenager you know” Serena commented in between laughter.

“Grazie, I received your email, Caro,” Xiomara said.

“Oh, I finished it sooner than I expected, hope you love what you see, I tried my best to make it real and authentic,” Serena said.

“It's perfect, just like I wanted it”

“Be careful when you travel, and remember Sacramento won't be the same like twenty-five years ago, a lot has changed” Serena said.

“I'm aware, but I'm sure it didn't change much, I grew up there remember”

“You see, What of Delfina, whom are you keeping her with, Don't tell me_”

“I'm not stupid Serena, I'm going there to fight not to be merry so I can't possibly take my daughter, She would be staying with Richelmo”.

“And not Rosalia, Why?”

“She's all I have and my successor, I can't leave her to a bad influence, who would do nothing but destroy her”

“She hasn't changed yet”

“Not even the slightest, But I'm still easy on her because of her father, I won't have pity on her if she messes up again”

“Just be careful, I will talk to you later, the lover boy is here with me” Serena stared at Morris smiling.

“I won't pay your bailout bill from jail when his wife catches up with you and lock you up”

“Oh please, that ain't happening... Bye” she said and the call ended.

“Who was that?” Morris didn't even let her drop her phone.

“A friend, Why?”

“A male friend?”

“About that, we are not married Mr. Fox, so that shouldn't be your problem” Serena smiled.

“You should go now, I have clients lined up and I have got no time on me”.

Morris stared at her for a while, then nodded before leaving her office, he was a little bothered about the caller, he was a man that don't like sharing P*ssy.

“Get me information regarding Serena Testa, Everything about her, including her ex and present boyfriend” Morris, said to Paul, his assistant.

“I will do that Sir?” he said as they drove out of the compound.

Three Days Later.

Delfina opened the door trying to quietly sneak into the house, but then jolted up on hearing her mum's voice.

“I see you've grown wings” Xiomara stared deeply at her, she had suspected Delfina would try and disobey, that was the reason she had to place the APB on her, and of course, Delfina proved her instincts right.

“Mamma, I-I-I” Delfina stuttered, she was feeling hot, her palms swearing despite the cold air conditioner.

It was past midnight and Xiomara used to be asleep by that time, well aside from the days she had gone out for one thing or the other, but Delfina didn't expect her to be awake, Xiomara was at home before she left for the party.

“You attended the party, even after I warned you not to” Xiomara smiled looking at the gun in her hand.

Delfina traced her eyes, she took two steps back in fear, Xiomara wasn't planning to kill her was she?

“I didn't, I want out to receive some fresh air,” Delfina said trying to sound normal but her trembling voice betrayed her.

Xiomara scoffed, glaring at her, there was silence for a while and Delfina could hear her heart beating very fast and loudly.

“Did you meet your prince charming?” Delfina was relieved that the dead silence was finally over, at the same time, she was worried, Xiomara didn't buy her lie, or was she expecting her to buy it?

Delfina stared at Xiomara thinking of the perfect lie, but her mind went blank, she wasn't raised as a lair so it was extremely hard for her to become one all of a sudden, especially in a tense situation like the one she was in.

Yvette walked into the door holding a brown envelope, she bowed slightly to Xiomara before handing her the envelope.

Delfina‘s heart skipped a beat watching her mum tear open the envelope being out the content, it was pictures and Delfina was sure those pictures were hers.

“He's handsome” Xiomara turned one of the pictures to Delfina, She gasped giving her mum a pleading eye, the picture was taken when she was kissing him.

“His handsome and also the son of the Deluca family, Valerio Deluca, Nice catch Delfina” Xiomara smiled dropping the pictures.

“I don't need DNA to confirm you are mine, You have all the qualities and the guts to disobey me, what effrontery” Xiomara added making Delfina shiver in fear.

“Now, I don't have to only deal with Richelmo's relationship with Aurelia Tomeo but now I also have to deal with Delfina and Valerio Deluca” Xiomara commented sarcastically and burst into unintentional laughter.

“I'm sorry Mum, but I really like him, and he likes me too, his not his father that you have an ill relationship with, he's different mum, Please I like him” Delfina pleaded in tears.

Both Xiomara and Yvette were quiet, Luca wasn't there, he's been busy with the arrangements for Xiomara's travel.

“I mean it mum” Delfina continued, now in tears.

“I love him and I'm going to kill myself if anyone tries to separate us” Delfina threatened.

Xiomara raised a brow at her, her lips curved with a smile “Go ahead” she said handing her over the gun.

“Mum?” Delfina have never been so surprised in her life, “What did you say?” she felt her ears playing tricks on her, She was her only child and she knew how much her mother adores her.

“I said you should go ahead, Kill yourself, Do it” Xiomara repeated, her cold eyes staring at Delfina.

‘She is serious’ Delfina’s subconscious screamed at her.

“I said if anyone tries to separate us” Delfina repeated her lines.

“And what makes you think I won't?” Xiomara didn't blink an eye.

“I already sent these pictures to his father with a little friendly note, Do you know the next thing I would send?”

“Either your corpse or that of his son, if I see him close to you, you hear me darling”

“What?” Tears flowed freely from her eyes.

“So it's best if you save us all the stress by killing yourself now, I will send your corpse to them, then Valerio will kill himself after seeing your dead body”

“That's where the happy ending comes in, no one can stop you in hell, you both would be together there... Tell me, How does that sound?”.

“Like a plan, so let's begin,” Xiomara said those words coldly with a straight face.

Delfina opened her mouth to talk but no words came out.

Just then, Xiomara fired a bullet at her.
