3- Human Behaviour 101

"Damn, ancient, green is definitely your colour," Trent commented, through a spoonful of cornflakes.

I walked across the rather small kitchen and grabbed an energy bar from the cupboard. "Thanks."

I wore a white blouse with a green tie and a grey pleated skirt that stopped right above my knees. I had on long white knee socks and low cut black boots and to top it off a green blazer with the C.B.A logo on the left pocket. Trent had on a pretty similar outfit except without the skirt, which I thought would've looked much cuter on him.

"Is that a holster?" He asked as he swallowed a spoonful of cornflakes, eyeing my waist where my gun lay. I was used to having it on for so long that it became a force of habit to put it on. "You seriously need to learn the definition of undercover, ancient. " He murmured shaking his head and standing up to straighten his tie.

I gritted my teeth at the cringing name he'd given me. My hand itching to grab my gun and blow his brains out. His "know it all attitude" was not helping his case.

"Lesson number one, you cannot take guns to school." I rolled my eyes until they almost fell out. If anything he was more capable of doing it than I was.

"I know, I was just hoping I could take you out in the car before we got there," I replied honestly, pulling out my M1911 and putting it on the counter as I took another bite of the bar. A part of me felt bad that I couldn't take my best friend to my first day at school.

"Lesson number two, no violence what so ever." He said in a serious tone. Yes, because I would enter the classrooms and beat the information out of all five hundred students.

"What if it happens by mistake? I'm human, I make mistakes." I asked instead, just to toy with him a bit.

He groaned and face palmed his face. "That is not what Valak meant when she said be more human..."

"But mistakes are a part of being human," I justified.

"Yes but that's not..."

"And I'm human."

"You're not focusing on..."

"I make mistakes. "

"True, but you..."

"So if I flip some one over unconsciously it was just a mistake,"

"No, that's not..."

"And if I break someone's nose while trying to whack a bug off my hand, it's a mistake."

"How would you even- that never gonna happen..."

"Never say never."

He sighed. "B92, I don't think you understand..."

"Oh I do. As long as I can justify my action as a mistake, I'm good. Thanks for the talk, I'll be in the car," I interrupted. Standing up and walking towards the door. I heard him come after me and grab my arm to try and stop me. I took a hold of his arm instead and twisted it before landing him on the floor with a loud thud.

"That was not a mistake," he groaned and coughed painfully.

"No, that was self defence." I answered before opening the door and going out.

***********

I sat in the white Chevrolet that the agency had given Trent and I to drive to school. Unfortunately only one of us sat in the car and the other most probably still lay on the floor back home licking his wounded self esteem.

I had been in the car for about twenty minutes. Thinking and analysing the school. It had a huge gate with the name Christian Brothers Academy written on it and through the gate I could see a gigantic building built of stone, like it had been constructed a long time ago before bricks were discovered. If looked at from the right angle, it had many similarities to Hogwarts.

I watched as numerous cars drove in through the gate and dropped off their passengers before driving out again. After about five more minutes I decided it was time to begin my mission.

"Focus on the mission, search and destroy, and terminate the target," I said to myself as I pulled the car out from park and drove through the gates.

The school was empty, probably because I was almost fifteen minutes late to my first lesson. I locked the car and meandered through the hedges like a maze, following the concrete path until I got to the front door.

It was already opened so I went in, as clueless as I was I knew that I had to make my way to the principles office for debriefing as Valak had ordered.

"Hey!" Someone called out behind me, praying it wasn't Trent I turned around to face a young boy about my age coming towards me.

"You must be the new girl.(Technically, I was the only girl) I'm Xenon, " He introduced, holding his hand out. I inspected the long slightly shaky fingers, then looked up at his face again.

Could I trust him? Was he the Target? Was he trying to distract me? Questions flooded into my brain as I analysed the human being that stood before me.

He smiled some more, showing of his white teeth. He didn't look like a "destroy the country with the worlds deadliest weapon" type, but alas, those were the most deceiving.

"I'm Agent... Blayze," I corrected myself quickly, shaking his hand. He frowned slightly at my extra strong grip before letting go.

"That's quite the name, you must be one fiesty being." He didn't know the half of it. "The schools been expecting you for almost thirty six hours," he said, which was news to me since I'd only been informed of this yesterday.

"They had us do behavioural classes and stuff," he told me as he began to walk me in my direction.

"Why?"

"They didn't want us to embarrass ourselves in front of you, or you'd write a bad report on us." He replied with another large smile as he turned. I stopped walking, wondering where he was leading me to.

"Aren't you going to the principles office?" He asked. I began to follow him in reply.

"Don't you have classes right now?" I asked him as we came to a gate which he opened using some sort of card.

"It's a gate pass, you'll get one soon." He said noticing my curiosity. "And nope, I have a free period right now."

I nodded as we walked out into the garden meandering once again through some more bushes. This was one complicated school to get around, I'd need a GPS just to find the toilet, thank God for my photographic memory.

"Here we are." He announced as we entered the other side of the building and stood in front of the door.

"Thanks," I mumbled.

"Anytime. Welcome to C.B.A." He said with another smile. "Oh, and if at lunch time you need somewhere to sit, you're welcome at our table."

I nodded with a tight smile before opening the door.

"Never mind she's here... thank you. " said the man who I assumed was the principal through the phone then placed it down.

"Agent B92," he greeted standing. He was an old man with white hair, possibly mid forties early fifties with a moustache and a navy blue wollen jersey on.

"Principal," I replied.

"You're late."

"I know," I said as I sat down on the leather chair.

"You're never late."

"I'm trying this human thing called making mistakes," I stated simply. It's not like I had done it on purpose, I first had to scan the area before coming in, so technically I was at school right on time.

"Mh?" he mumbled running a hand down his face. "Okay then, lets get this show on the road shall we?"

I sat there watching him silently.

He pulled out a few shabby files from his oaken drawers, I suspected they were the cause of the wooden furnish smell that dominated the room. Unlike Valak's, his office was so unkempt I almost hyperventilated from sitting on the wool-like chairs that produced those tiny annoying dust particles that you could spot floating aimlessly in the air every time I moved. Everything was so uneven and unprofessional... boys.

"We've managed to narrow down the suspect to both the lower sixes or the upper." he began. "Everyone else's back grounds were checked but those forms."

"Why weren't theirs?"

"The technology wasn't available at their time of entry,"

After a while I spoke up. "I am still curious as to why I have to be here if you already know who the suspects are."

"We need an inside man..."

"Woman." I corrected sharply.

"Well, yes." he nodded in agreement. "We need an inside woman to confirm our suspicions. The Agency can not make an attempt at finding the source without confirming the person responsible for it first."

I went silent, as did he.

"Is that all?" I asked with boredom, worst debriefing ever.

"That's it. Oh and here is you gate pass. Total access." He added the last part as though it were meant to wow me.

I simply snatched the card and tucked it in my blazer pocket.

"You will be in the art classes." He continued shoving the reports back in his drawers. "Literature, History and Geography."

"Alright then. I'm sure I'll catch the person that's hogging deadly Hydrogen atoms back home reading Romeo and Juliet in class." I stated sarcastically.

He looked at me, realising his stupidity. For an agent he sure did act a lot like Mr. Walker.

"Sciences it is then." He announced awkwardly, writing it down on his timetable. "Welcome to C.B.A, Blayze Jones."
